I hate new unity
>takes 20mins to set up environment
>has to reload assets when you click outside the unity window
Nothing but bloat.

Use unreal

You can disable annoying reloading assets thing.

>no metroid platformer in over a decade
>make one
>metroid dread releases...

>no metroid prime since the writing

>metroid prime 4 announced....

Why are they like this....

No work, break day.

Oh really? I did not know that.

Procrastinating behind the back of the 3d artist, not bad

I finished up all my space dungeons yesterday.

How do I make the process of animating less homosexual? I don't like Assprite, should I just jerry rig a camera above my table so I can draw by hand?

My shit's still on paper
Once I convince myself that tomorrow is the day I'll start the development, I always find a reason to procrastinate

>How do I make the process of animating less homosexual?
Stop sucking off men while you're animating, duh.

I don't suck off men but it's still super gay!

>should I just jerry rig a camera above my table so I can draw by hand?
you can pick up a second hand wacom intuos for like $20 user

I need to find a cheap way to motion capture at the skatepark, suggestions?

still doesn't help with the fact that I can't find software that I don't hate

how would drawing by hand solve your software problem?

Blender, tape white dots/squares on your body at clear landmark areas. Wear dark clothing. Then watch a tutorial on how to convert it over to animations for a humanoid rig.

The point is that with a Wacom I'm back to square 1

could try deepmotion, but only up to 20 seconds is free

that makes 0 sense, wacom would be the exact same as drawing on paper except you don't need the retarded camera setup or whatever you're trying to build.

whatever, I'm probably not going to find anything better than Pencil 2D for whatever I'm doing, I'll just draw the lineart on paper and make the animations digitally with a mouse, it's not like accuracy is that important since it's all going to be pixelshit in the end anyway.

By using photoshop instead of dedicated pixel garbage

Just finished porting it to vulkan.

Post your Git page

>use photo editor as a animation tool
>instead of a free tool designed specifically for animation
what the actual fuck?

They're both free, and Photoshop hasn't been just a photo editor for well over a decade

Ported the "fire and forget" effects such as the sliding smoke to the new "generic program" standard

systemax.jp/en/sai/devdept.html the best program to draw

>you need $20k PC to develop a game.
No. There are lots of lightweight game engines.

There is exactly one period of time this was true, from 1992 to 1997, when you needed a SGI workstation to make good 3D models.
Before that there was no 3D in games pretty much and after that, you could just use a pentium computer with software mode rendering to run 3D studio max.

Anyone here familiar with Investor or similair bussiness of earnings call?

still wasn't true then, if you just made a 2d game

Indeed.

You can now pick up drunken sluts at the nightclub

Hi there, is Godot a good game maker engine? Is possible to create a souls like game in Godot?

If I have no talent what's the best way to make a porn game? Learn to draw and do 2d, or learn to model and do 3d? 3d seems like it'd be way harder but apparently it's pretty easy?
What's the best engine for a beginner, renpy, rpgmaker or unity?

I wanted Snussy, Not Dragussy

Possible it is, but you will have to fight it a lot and do all the streaming shit manually.

It'll be easier in Godot 4

Soulful

does this answer your question?

Does anyone here have or know where I can get a GDD (game design document) as an example?
I wonder what is included in a GDD if it is an FPS shooter. The whole thing should be for a publisher to get an overview. Or what other alternatives are there?

Works on my machine

No?

I just found out that my FPS movement script works like shit during certain situations
I have to rewrite it and I really don't wanna do it, fucking kill me, probably going to copy paste shit from stack overflow or yt tutorial

Why is the unity engine so common among game devs? Why not use unreal instead?

I genuinely like how it looks

Unreal = chink spyware
Unity = Chad's choice, also easy to learn

What's the licensing fee on both of them?

I thought unreal was free? I don't know if the unity free license is sufficient for serious game dev

if you do serious gamedev, you don't use any of these engines at all, moron.

Yarr

Both want some share if your game is successful.

c#, more resources and games are lighter

Post your custom game engine that doesn't use SDL, LibGDX, or any 2D/3D frameworks.

Also made it so that if you try to overwrite saves, it'll inform you.

I'm an indie dev though?
What i meant, that if you are a serious game developer like rockstar, ubisoft, or FromSoftware, using Unity or Unreal Engine would be straight fucking embarrassing.

comparing 5MB SDL to 500000GB Unreal/Unity.

For Unity, which is more optimized?
>Instantiating 1 prefab containing 6 of the same game objects
or
>Instantiating 6 of the same prefabs containing the same game object

>they're all in t-pos
Scary

...

>you have to be an aaa developer making reddit games to be a ((((serious game developer))))
most companies don't have the resources to roll out and support their own tech, developing a competitive 3d engine in current year is a serious undertaking

Then name ONE serious game developer that is not AAA
>most companies don't have the resources to roll out and support their own tech, developing a competitive 3d engine in current year is a serious undertaking
bullshit

>I'm an indie dev

You as an indie developer, can you tell pelase me where I can get a sample of an game design document?

I wonder what kind of content has to be in a GDD for an FPS shooter. Or is there a GDD alternative, is for a publisher as an overview (does it have to be a GDD?)

Ps: You are familair with Investor stuff?

Unity and a combination of abuse made me quit game making entirely. Fuck that bitch and her stupid game. It was over ambitious and I was just one man. She didn't pay me yet she treated me like shit. Never again.

>if you are a serious game developer like rockstar, ubisoft, or FromSoftware, using Unity or Unreal Engine would be straight fucking embarrassing.
Sure is a good thing RAGE and Anvil aren't historically plagued with issues and regarded with disdain by the people actually playing GTA and Ubisoft games.

mobile and webgame developers such as rovio
>B-BUT IT DONT COUNT!!! b-but not serious enough!!!
cdpr literally just fell back on ue after developing redengine for years
