I don't get why anyone cares about the proportion of female devs to male devs. As we all know both genders/sexes are equal in most every way and thus there's no more difference in their thinking than between individuals of the same sex.
So it's not for actual results they're hired for then, could it be for empowering women? I am certainly not under the mistaken impression that I can become the head of Xbox just because their current lead is a white male, therefore I find it unlikely that females would feel they can achieve such greatness purely due to seeing female leaders in such positions. You need talent, luck and hopefully hard work to get there instead of being the right gender and color.
So if it's not giving better results on the bottom line and it's not getting proper talent into their dev studios then wtf does it matter who's on top levels of management?
