Also not having RDF is so profoundly stupid that the only reason I think they're not putting it in WotLK classic is because none of the trannies infesting the company can get the system working for some reason so they're spinning it as a positive thing, Even though it's just going to make leveling hellish pre 70 and make getting gear on any their dysfunctionally imbalanced and underpopulated servers impossible.

It's fucking astounding how Blizzard has had like 10 fucking years of private servers to use as a reference for how to handle classic and they're just constantly doing EVERYTHING you DON'T do to have a good, healthy game and community. Its generally thought that this will be the last one. This is where WoW peaked in terms of subscriber numbers, and its also the conclusion of the story that started in WC3. I think classic servers will stick to the latest WotLK patch for years.

They already ruined classic by having PVP sets and weapons prior to Naxxramas' release. RDF wasn't added until halfway until WotLK, so it wouldn't be authentic to have it immediately.

Classic was ridiculously huge though. Blizzard just fucked it up by mismanaging it and refusing to make changes that would have been necessary for it to continue to grow and succeed. They could have gone the OSRS route and used Classic+ as a means to fix past mistakes but instead they went the cheap cash grab route by releasing classic versions of the next 2 expansions.

WoW cannot be saved as there are no newbies getting into the game and staying there. Classic is a solved game and Retail is a huge mess, and both versions are filled with players who expect you to know every noob trap in the game like Alliance or picking a class because you think it looks cool in the character creator.

Cataclysm might, if they tune up the difficulty as it was initially intended and make interesting talent choices with the classes, and by that i mean they don't axe the talent trees.

There is a strong possibility that WoW classic can basically turn into another branch of WoW altogether with it's own development team. If that were to happen there would be two games which could bounce ideas off of each other meaning that one could be more hardcore while the other keeps appealing to everyone. Both games would benefit because one won't make the same mistakes the other did before.

WOTLK is the most popular, it's the one everyone claims to love, but it's really stale at a closer look & is what began the downward trend, it's been available on many servers for years, and the community was always small, just like TBC private servers.
It'll get massive subscriber numbers, I don't think it'll beat vanilla in terms of hype because a lot of the wotlkbabbies got redpilled by classic on 'YOU THINK YOU DO' actually being real.
