yes the linear uncharted climbing and action sequences suck, but there are a lot of good bones in the new tomb raider games, you could change nothing about the gameplay/controls (besides maybe giving her better acrobatics) and you could have an amazing tomb raider game by just hamming up the story a bit more and making tombs/puzzles a way bigger part of the experience.
old tomb raider games were rough but still they had fun platforming, i can see a 2D tomb raider game working better than the new tomb raider games, granted if they make the platforming good and unique in 2D.

I haven't played this game or anything like it from its series, but I see nothing wrong with this webm. It can be important to have little bits of fluff to break up monotonous gameplay, this has been a common feature of games since the early NES days. It would be like using a webm of the mini games from Super Mario 3, or the ladder sequence from Metal Gear Solid 3 to discredit them. Then again maybe there's something about these games I don't know.
