The three robot dudes were kind of annoying and Noelle being a dirty lesbian didn't help, everything else was great but those two things left kind of a sour taste on some people
then Snowgrave was discovered and all was forgiven again

Combined I'd say they're about the same length as finishing Hotland in Undertale.

Yes and no. The meat of the game is in the dark worlds which are basically self-contained, but there is a very obvious overarching plot and that one ends in a cliffhanger.

I think I pulled around 10 hours for both and I was going slow. It's episodic and mostly self contained so far and was a pretty fun ride playing them when they dropped.

I'm surprised it made it a whole week, but I guess there were a lot of stragglers, went to shit by week 2. Pretty good run for a fucking free demo.

People here liked it. It's just that after a week, Yea Forums remembered they have to be contrarian so they started posting "tranny game" in response to all Undertale/Deltarune threads

Deltarune threads were spammed with the whole you won't be a woman thing long before tranny game became a thing. That was around december-ish.

Too many people will dilute his vision. Keep the team small. He should focus on what he has. Chapter 2 only took as long as it did because Toby was looking to move to an engine that isn't gamemaker but he scrapped that idea after a while so in reality it was about a year and a half to two years of development and one year spent looking for an engine that had support for things like 3D graphics. I suspect he wanted 3D graphics for something like the spamton neo fight when he does his huge move. Also he is admittedly a pretty bad programmer. He didnt have a system for setting up cutscenes so the cutscenes at the end of chapter 1 (which were made first) were described as "a bunch of if statements." After setting up a cutscene system, he was able to do it more reliably and easily. I expect chapters 3-5 to take 1 and a half years at least with 3 at most, with one year per chapter roughly.

I was completely unfazed by the first part but I'm very interested to see where the snowgrave route is heading. It's still relatively early in the story and yet it's diverging this much... Feels like Your Turn To Die.
