I've said it before and I'll say it again: sqenix could have given naka full creative control for the entirety of the project with literally no oversight from them, given him a totally unlimited budget to use as he saw fit and full access to the final fantasy dev team and balan's big day out STILL would have fucking sucked dick. It was fundamentally flawed from conception and no amount of money or support would have ever made it even remotely good.

The biggest problem with Balan is its retarded core gameplay mechanic where you can only use 1 ability at a time, I don't see how any amount of polishing could've fixed that.

The different worlds are pretty nice visually, and the dance sequences are fun in a "what the fuck am I watching lmfao" kind of way, but it's not worth suffering through infuriatingly dumb gameplay mechanics and repetitive QTEs for that. Just play A Hat in Time instead if you want a colorful G-rated platformer.
