Some streamers were selling the idea that what makes ff14 worth playing in 2022 is the people but i have yet find these people he talks about. I've seen nothing out of the welcoming people they said was the selling point of the game, I've met even tryhards complaining about my healer not doing dps at lvl 16 dungeons. In 2022? You'd be playing a single player campaign with myltiplayer being an option. What they mean by "fun community" is joining a guild that does a bunch of roleplaying to make your game feel like a "memorable experience." They refuse to admit it, but majority of the the game is ERPers with modders, and SE knows this. That's why they refuse to crack down on the mods even after the PVP incident
From personal experience, a lot of guilds are full of mentally unwell players that are scared to do any extremes or savages (even old ones) without being carried. The game is casual central

Yes. I usually don't start blasting my stacks on EDs until my party got the fight down but ideally you should be doing it as much as possible. Protip even throwing literally all your stacks + dissipation stacks as EDs is not that big of a DPS gain, so don't kill yourself over saving them for heals.

If you hyper focused in dps dispite being new to healing your gonna fuck up and wipe the raid to something silly like raid wide damage. Shit happens way more than you might think.
Just prioritize getting people to full health and mitigating raid wide damage. No one thats sane cares about healer parses(your co healer is always insane).
Also don't try to avoid GcD heals as SCH. Giving everyone a crit shield is just too good of a mitigation. Focusing on making sure a dps doesn't take a 25% weakness debuff is way more important than trying to maximize trivial 100 potency Energy drains.
