It's just as bad as the MM's de-make.
Don't let the N3DS zoomers claim otherwise.

Better than MM3D and the best way to play OOT until the PC port is worked on a little more.

I can’t get into majora’s mask, there’s too much going on for my autistic brain to handle. It legitimately makes me feel like a kid again in the sense that I don’t know what the fuck I’m supposed to do.

Did not like the changes to Ganon's bits in the end but fine otherwise. Iron and Hover Boots being changed to C items was welcome

Sounds like you were already a retard as a kid, because I beat both OoT and MM at the age of 9-10, all on my own. And I'm a fucking ESL fag to boot, so I had to either guess the meaning of some words or look 'em up from a literal, physical dictionary.

It's definitely different to modern games like that. I'd recommend just taking it easy and exploring the world. You will realise how it works and what to do naturally.

At first I was bitterly disappointed with MM as a 13-year-old expecting for the next OOT. But I stuck with it and it was worth it.

Overall it’s pretty good, the aiming is better but it’s a shame they toned down a lot of the more gritty and atmospheric areas. I get that the 3DS has a smaller screen but it hurts the tone a lot, I know it’s a meme to say but there was kind of this spooky and mysterious vibe to the N64 version that the remake lacks at parts

It's the definitive way to play OoT until the PC decomp is up to snuff.

Hell no.
The N64 1.0 version emulated is the mountain top. Playing on real N64 is the next best thing.

How the fuck can you have trouble with MM, if you've beaten OoT??
Back in 2000, I only got to borrow the game for a single weekend, and I indeed beat the story during those 3 evenings.

I think the remake is just trying to replicate the style of the official artwork. The reason you think there’s an added “creepy atmosphere” to the n64 version is the same reason why zoomers think Mario 64 is scary.

Bottom of the well is pretty creepy

Also Forest Temple

Is this a good first 3D Zelda?

> 3D mode for ages 7+
Americans are so dumb they can't perceive 3D graphics until age of 7?

Not an argument, homosexual nigger.

Ocarina Of Time is THE "first Zelda" in general.
The 3DS port just is awful port.

>THE first Zelda
Lol no

That's PURELY because of the fucking music. Goddamn, that track is unsettling.

the only really bad change is the lighting in the ganon fight

What's bad about the 3DS version

It's better. So many neat interior details and little world building elements added. Makes up for the changes.

censorship
pastel re-colors greatly changing the mood and tone of the game
extra handholding and guidance, in a game that already had the notorious in-game hint system following you at all times.

It’s perfectly fine. Some graphical details are great and soulful like the windows emitting light in Kakariko at night, and some (not all) of the new lively colors are great. I’d rather go back and play the 64 version, but I’ve beat the remake 3 times aswell. Link’s model looks uglier than in the original, too fairy-like.

Optional handholding, you disengenuous creep.

You could argue that even HUD in most games is "optional", but it's still an implemented feature.
Also all the colorful signs and changed water-level changers in the Water Temple are anything but optional.

>now the HUD is 'optional'
You have nothing

You don't hear about it because it's good.

it's not really like Mario 64 since a lot of dungeons are deliberately lit to look foreboding and kind of creepy. Don't get me wrong 3DS looks great and is better than the N64 in a lot of ways but the lighting is too bright for some areas to feel as dangerous to the player as they should. It's not even the devs fault since it has to be like that one portable screens, it's really a nitpick and you can't go wrong with either version but that's the main detractor I can think of for the remake

What I loved about the 3DS version is you could be hudless thanks to the two screens

it's nice. The gyroscope aiming is dope. The lighting changes and the lack of text scrolling ruins the atmosphere in a few places.

Good remake. It just needs another HD upscale. Good time to release it since they delayed BOTW2.

The only real issue I have is they hold the N64 original on such a high pedestal they dare not change anything about the gameplay or overworld content. It would have been a good opportunity to put in some of the 64DD stuff they had to remove, tweak up the combat engine to be more in line with later Zeldas that perfected it, orchestrated the music etc.

They won't do any of that because a few N64 Autists will scream, which is stupid because we all know they'd buy it regardless.

Character art is okay but the environmental art misses the mark of what Ocarina's prerendered shit is trying to achieve. I assume the bright colors and visual clutter were to attract ADD riddled kids.

As an art-fag, I find many of the 3DS version's visual changes quite jarring. The already mentioned pastel color-palette thing is one thing, but it seems like Link's constantly under some sort of spot-light, and isn't affected by most dynamic light sources of the world.

One thing that nobody seems to mention that instantly hit my eye were the character animations. It's kinda hard to put into words without putting the two side by side, but Link's movements in 3D port seem very floaty, lacking weight and believable behavior.

>of what Ocarina's prerendered shit is trying to achieve
The remaster looks closer to the concept art which is exactly what they were trying to achieve.

the "lack of" lighting is especially clear in the first boss fight scene. They also reduced the mist and other effects a great deal.

Yeah yeah, tiny portable screen and all that, but it's not like 3DS would have a non-backlit 144p monitor like GBA or something.

yeah and you're still all on your own you insufferable lonely cunt

Best way to currently play ocarina of time currently.

It's the only good 3d zelda.

Not an argument, and even my wife thinks you're being a silly faggot.

if you beat the game on a 3ds then you didn't beat it on a nintendo 64. Hard truth to come to grips with

good remake but stuck on the shitty little 3DS. it also doomed Oot from ever getting a real remake. the 3DS is not even as powerful as a gamecube, so it was an N64 game remade on a console between an N64 and a gamecube. what a waste.

How good is 3DS or N64 emulation? I want to replay OOT but I don't have either systems

Both work perfectly

I assume they illuminated Link like that so you could keep track of him on a small screen. Honestly lighting is my main issue with the remake, and Link's odd walking/jumping animations. Everything else is an upgrade.

It's pretty good. There's some great QoL fixes that really help. It's got some downsides.... but will do in a pinch.

That said, I'd rather play the original version.

If you took the 3DS outside and then tried to do Shadow Temple it would be very frustrating if they'd kept the original lighting.

I beat it but don't remember anything distinct about the game. I felt the same way you do. Great music though.

It's ok I prefer the original personally

They're playable

Only way to play this game since the N64 version (emulated or not) is hardcoded to run in 16 or 20fps, this is at least 30 which makes it playable

Bump!

when complaining about OoT3d, Yea Forums has to resort to autistic nitpicking nobody cares about instead of any real problems, meaning that OoT3D is a good remake.

Water Temple looks pretty good in 3DS version.

Some stuff better
A lot of stuff worse
Some stuff just plain baffling

This is just autism

I thought it was called attention to detail but I guess in the end thats the same shit
