The problem is that Sonic 3 is the only new one. The Sonic 1, 2 and CD remakes are 10 years old at this point.

Characters with elemental powers in Sonic games are a meme because the majority of the time, most characters just end up playing like Sonic. Except Silver I guess. Blaze has fire powers, but her playstyle still boils down to "running fast and jumping on things".

Gems Collection was the 1st ever home port of Sonic the Fighters. Also when Gems collection was released it was much harder to play Sonic CD and Sonic R than it is to play Sonic 3 now. You either had to have the expensive original hardware, and the original PC releases were not easily compatible with modern machines

Taxman Sonic 2 added Hidden Palace which was a great level despite having the worst boss ever in a classic Sonic game.

No, but Taxman years ago expressed interest in making the 2-player levels into full Zones. Sonic CD remake was also very close to adding in a new zone (Desert Dazzle, based on the cut desert zone from Sonic 2) but it didn't make it and was eventually reworked into Mirage Saloon for Mania.

That's the point. Sonic isn't a series that works with speed outside of the original style Sonic plays, otherwise you get dogshit like Boosting.

Nothing feels more natural than actual gravity based momentum, when Sonic just ignores physics it feels like cancer. Sonic's friends should just have one core gameplay with a unique quirk about them that makes them unique. Knuckles can gluid and reveal hidden paths, Tails makes the already easy game easier by keeping him from falling off the map, Amy should be literally doubling her Sonic abilities thanks to her hammer, etc etc. Blaze could just be the modern version of the Fireshield of the classic games if they wanted to use a working formula for modern era games instead of the trash they've been doing since.

The cut content was literally done levels just scrapped at the last second, what you're asking is just fandom wishes for those useless levels to be real levels, which wasn't planned for S3K in the first place.
