Voice actor/actresses thread

Let's talk about our favorite vidya VAs. Both English and Japanese VAs are allowed.

I love this old man like wouldn't believe. James Woods having a time of his life with Hades.

Honestly who could voice Hades other than James Woods? He was made for that character.

>Disney always asks me to do them
In his contract for Hercules, James Woods made a clause that he'll potray Hades in EVERY single piece of media he appears unless he refuses to do it. Smart guy.

Fucking holy based dude

I wonder if Disney gives him the stink eye every time they meet with him.

He is based. He does a lot more voice acting than people realise too.

Yuri Lowenthal

I dont even necessarily think he's a great VA objectively, but something about his voice never fails to make a character so likeable.

Love James Woods, wish he was in the new Cronenberg

>sasuke is spiderman
huh, I didn't know this

Scott Bullock

I pretty much only know James Woods from his guest appearances in Simpsons and Family Guy. What are his top kinos?

Don't have any favorites in particular buyt Morgott sounded absolutely badass in Elden Ring.
How do voice actors manage to have so much range? When you look at interviews you notice that the most talented ones have voices that can go very low and high as well as sound really soft or gravely very naturally, meanwhile when I try to have a badass voice IRL I sound like a lunatic.

Actually, the character was made for him. The original plans for Hades changed when the original actors turned down the role and Woods auditioned with a different take.

Videodrome

He was a lot more grandiose and morose before, right?

White supremacist still gets job what a surprise it's like we live in a system of white supremacy...wait.

He plays a villain so it's ok

Mike Pollock clearly loves voice acting Eggman, and he's the one voice actor from the current voice cast that I have never heard anybody complain about. He's so good, he survived the cast change after Black Knight.
Also, he refused to do the "pissing on the moon speech", which automatically makes him extraordinarily based

Laura Bailey simps inbound....

I like Johnny Yong Bosch and it's interesting how he has literally 1 voice but I can differentiate between Power Rangers and Nero.

He's probably above getting cancelled. Cancel Culture only affects the weak minded and people who willingly give in to it.

>Once Upon a Time in America
>The Specialist
>Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
>White House Down

Yeah and to stand out from the other auditions James plays him like a shady used car salesman
"Name's Hades, Lord of the dead. Hi, how ya doin'?”

Yeah, more in line with the other Disney villains like Jafar.

He has 2 and a half voices really. He has the Nero/Ichigo voice, and the whinier voice he doesn't really use all that often because Lucien Dodge has basically supplanted that one entirely. Almaz in Disgaea 3 or Emil in Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World are examples of the latter.

It's those brits and their shakespearean upbringing.

based Laura Bailey simp chads

Rent free

Does make him stand out a bit for not getting a song.

Pick one

Is once upon a time in america good? It looks cool but it seems old as fuck and that scene with them on the beach talking about a dream seemed a bit homo

I kinda like Bill Kametz and his voice as Ferdinand in FE: Three Houses
He voiced Naofumi in Shield Heroi and Shinei in 86 as well.
It's kinda sad he was recently diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer.

Attached: file.png (1363x2048, 1.83M)

Oh yeah, heard about that. Sad to hear.

It's long. If you're going g to watch it you might as well watch the expended version. It's mostly a de Niro film tho

No. Spends too much time on De Niro and Woods is the best in the movie

>Also, he refused to do the "pissing on the moon speech", which automatically makes him extraordinarily based
He literally said that he didn't want any trouble with his employers. It's less "he didn't do it because he's based" and more "he didn't do it because he doesn't want to lose his job".

Something about Brittney Karbowski's voice just does it for me, man. I blame Outlaw Star.

Daily reminder cancer is no joke and everyone should test your colon. Its one of the most common cancer on men.

her 2.0 VA was AMAZING. Too bad she was replaced for the rest of the game. This lady absolutely gave it her all and you can really tell with how she pronounces everything.
youtu.be/BJ1-dbhMKCw

Depends on the game and setting really, for example even tho English dub is pretty good in sekiro I preferred to play it in Japanese because of the setting, However couldn't stand Nier Automata in Japanese and think English dub is simply superior.

The one with the huge milkers who's not Harley Quinn's VA

What about that soibeard faggot Matt Walsh?

He did say that, but considering that Colleen did the whole lemon rant from Portal 2, and him saying that he's a "character caretaker", I think he simply didn't want to curse up a storm in his Eggman voice and give the fans ammo to shitpost about.

>chud
listen sport. it's time to go be an actual functioning member of society.

Her and Urianger's 2.0 VAs are probably the ones I miss the most. Granted, the latter was Balthier's VA and it's clear he can just be a grandiose fuckboy all the time, it's great.

Depends if his parents make him get a summer job this year

No, don't make get a real job I rather stay in my internet bubble were people treat me a the woman I really am. Chud chud chud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it me or do English voice actors get more in touch with their fanbases than Japanese seiyuus?

He should've done more video game villains in his prime.

Attached: Isshin Chiba.jpg (941x523, 108.54K)

so activists are failures?

The English VA scene is more "unprofessional", in the sense that it's not quite as strict or as secure a job scene as it is in Japan, where they're treated more like professional workers who just do their job, get some publicity but mostly try to keep to themselves. All but the biggest English VAs seem to mostly just be people who are also voice actors, rather than being defined as voice actors.

Koyasu or Patrick?

>you’re a failure if you don’t get a career in the first thing you want to do in life
Hey, that’s not fair. Nobody thinks you’re a failure just because you aren’t a professional cocksucker.

Prior to the DS version or Dissidia I never thought of him for Kain, but now it's impossible to separate him from Kain in my head.

BOW DOWN

I heard God Hand's final boss' voice as I read this, but I don't think he did that one.

They did a good job deciding what type of voice everyone should get.

>fail at one thing
>try something else
>succeed
The only failure here is you for thinking someone is a failure because you disagree with their perspective.

>Steven Crowder
>Failed Comedian
Doesn't he still do shows, on top of his normal show that airs 4 days a week?

The voice of Rachel Alucard and Sharon Kreuger is mesmerizing to me. It's so soothing.
I also adore Adam Howden as Shulk. I picked his voice in XCX before knowing it was his.

GTA San Andreas

I get what you are trying to say, but saying a 20 year old is a failed scriptwriter is like saying a child is a failed highschool student.
Men in their early 20's often times change professions to things that matter more to them.

What was the proof that it didn't happen?

what about all the failed political journalists turned video game journalists?

The guy who voiced Gaara in Naruto and War in Darksiders. I really like his gravelly voice.

This and Dissidia made me like Peter Beckman(Golbez)'s work. Shame that his last work was in 2018.

WITH ALL MY STRENGTH

>JP
Toshiyuki Morikawa

Can't decide between DC Douglas and Keith Silverstein. It's uncanny how good their voices fit villains.

Failing at anything is utterly meaningless so long as you try and succeed elsewhere. This idea that someone is lesser for failing at some point is retarded. It speaks to an idealized and unrealistic version of success. You cannot succeed without failure first teaching you its meaning.

Oh, huh, Edge was Taliesin Jaffe. That must've been an earlier role for him, because I don't recall hearing him much before.
