A new setting doesn't warrant a new game

>a new setting doesn't warrant a new game
>a new single-player campaign doesn't warrant a new game
>new stages don't warrant a new game
>an entirely new selection of special weapons don't warrant a new game
>new spawning mechanics don't warrant a new game
>new movement options don't warrant a new game
>all of these together don't warrant a new game
Then what the fuck does warrant a new game to you people?

Last time I asked I was told it should be on a new console with new graphics
Didn't stop people from saying the same shit about Splat 2, but you know how it is

Same people saying Splatoon 3 shouldn't exist are most likely the same people who buy the annual EA/Activision shooters year after year.

I think the problem people have with Splatoon 3 is that they're worried it'll become Call of Duty. Just the same game but slightly tweaked. Splatoon 3 seems different enough to stand out compared to the previous two games though.

I just want them to remove all of the bullshit that they added in 2, but it looks like Dualies, Clash Blaster, etc. are all still in the game.

What's wrong with the dualies? The extra movement option is fun. The problem is that other weapon classes don't allow for more mobility.

I never played Splatoon for more than a few minutes, the server kept disconnecting me, did it have some anti piracy measures?

>Play a pirated game
>online
No shit it has anti piracy measures.

I just realized how amazing it would be to turn hydra splatling into gunlance in terms of movement - being able to boost yourself forward like a rocket for a close range attack would be amazing

>What's wrong with the dualies?
They're too good. You can bypass enemy Ink , Get out of Jail Free, and more with the press of a button. No other class in the game comes close to them.

why are you giving shitposters even a fraction of your attention? dumb niggas will come up with any excuse to complain about every single nintendo game, so why bother entertaining them?

a new console

They don't want anything.

They're mad that a brand new release makes it more relevant than DLC for the last game would, and that it will give Nintendo more success this year than they feel the company deserves.

It really just boils down to "why does Nintendo need to *more* successful this year?" for them and its kind of pathetic, Snoy or no Snoy.

Giving this guy more inspiration to draw warrants a new game

which art piece that image came from? Splatoon 1 or 2?

The only thing that warrants a new game is an inability to modify it to do what you want in the existing game. If you can make it an expansion, you always should. Consoles in particular shouldn’t ever release sequels on the same hardware, it’s just naked greed.

BRING BACK SALTSPRAY RIG
BRING BACK MAHI MAHI RESORT
BRING BACK UNPATCHED CHOKEPOINT UNDERPASS

2 I'm pretty sure
I'm not sure I've ever seen it though

Splat 1, where stacking Damage Up with E-Liters and Chargers was meta, and made Moray Towers extra cancerous. E-Liters were nerfed into the ground in 2, and Damage Up was thankfully removed until they fucking brought it back with Main Power Up

splat33n…

they should have made a second expansion for Splatoon 2, kept Splatfests going for an extra year or longer, and saved Splatoon 3 for Super Switch (which should also have been slated for 2023 but it's probably just gonna be a fucking "Pro" next year)

>same bullshit game with P2P connection, horrendous tickrate and bullshit gamemode limitation like forcing you to play a particular mode for an entire hour instead of letting you pick whatever you want to fucking play.
I'll not buy it.

Dualies are empirically not too good. There was a period when some of them were really good, but they kept getting nerfed and shooters kept getting buffed and now shooters are the best class.

>playing console shooters

Splatoon with gyro would be the perfect console tps without all the flaws mentioned in my last post.

I dont understand why I have to pay for a p2p connection. I wonder why no one has made private servers

Let me play on the same side as my friend consistently in casual and it'll warrant a new game

haha imagine if Main Power Up was in S3 from the very beginning?
hahahaaaaa

Why can carbon rollers one shot

Attached: 1522387516686.png (345x283, 4.91K)

This, seriously. Never understood why I need to link up with at least six friends in order to ensure all of us have at least one pal on the team in Turf War. Like, it's Turf War. If ensuring a full squad of four players is too "brutal", then a two-player buddy system at the very least would be fine, right?

I'm only getting it if people can confirm the campaign is as good as Octo 2's DLC campaign.

They need something, they're pretty shit otherwise.

Considering the exceptional quality of Octo Expansion, as well as the time between the release of the second and third games, I want to believe S3's Return of the Mammalians campaign will follow Octo Expansion's precedent. Despite this, I honestly feel it may continue the same drole nonsense of the first two Hero Modes. No way to prove either side correct until the game releases or is leaked (does Splatoon content ever leak?), but I just have this dumb feeling in me.

>they're not too good because... because they just aren't, okay?!
Imagine if a Street Fighter game had 1 character that could block or parry attacks, and no one else on the roster could do so.
That's what Dualies (and Brellas) are like compared to everything else in Splatoon 2.

Yeah, pretty much. I'll wait until then though.

Oh no, for sure. It's for the best. Have to ask though: Is the single-player campaign that much of a dealbreaker for you? Does Multiplayer not interest you? Salmon Run even? Nothing wrong if they do not, I am simply curious.

>Got absolutely stomped by a top 500er with a carbon roller after making this post
These things are going on my shitlist

Attached: 1510930314959.png (612x409, 95.73K)

lol So Nintendo is going to literally start recycling their games and call them "sequels".

Nintendies are fucking morons.

Yeah, I doubt they'll be that different to Splatoon 2 to warrant me getting 3 for multi / salmon.

>going to literally start
fucking idiot

user, the term your looking for is rehash. Did you forget already or are you just new?

Mmm. That is fair. Many people are in the same boat at the current time, or a similar one. Splatoon 2 will likely be plenty active despite the new game's release, so there is no need to worry about not finding matches. Only real issue is whether or not your friends and acquaintances will be moving on. Thank you for elaborating on your stance.

Why wait? Splat 2 is pretty shit in retrospect, I want to see if 3 fixes anything at all. The input lag, the balance, the overall multiplayer experience. If Salmon Rush finally gets some needed depth. I don't want to buy another console just to get that.

>>new spawning mechanics
So is the purpose of this so that enemies can't camp outside the spawn point anymore since there is no set spawn point?

Yeah. It sucks. If you're getting spawncamped, you deserve it.

I'm going to assume it'll let you swap spawn points. Maybe it'll let you spawn anywhere on the edge of the map (in turf wars anyway)

Aerospray MG has been the most OP weapon for me especially with the right powerups with the clothing or whatever (i havent played in years) you had a ridiculous fire rate that was basically an instakill at close range and i could fill up my special at least 5 times in a single turf war which was the fuckin curler bomb things that basically just give you a giant chunk of the stage to yourself especially if youre on high ground. Wasnt as good in ranked playlists but during splatfests i consistently placed at the top of almost every match

Reminder that Carbons got nerfed bad, and they were a top-tier in Splat 1.

I remember those days. Good fun was had. Sort of.

2 was the first game I played and honestly, it wasn't very entertaining. Multiplayer was interesting but didn't keep me coming back. I wont buy a sequel.

western brainrot makes them constantly want to reinvent the wheel. see any vidya produced in the west desu

should i buy splatoon 2

Honestly I'd hold off, it's only a few months until 3 comes out and everyone jumps over.

At this point you may as well wait for 3

When's Callie and Marie Amiibo being reprint?

Part of me wants to say "yes", mainly because it will help to acquaint you with the gameplay and lore of the world. The other part of me says to wait, given that the release date for the third game is (very slowly) approaching. Maybe if you can purchase Splatoon 2 used, or on sale.

I find it funny Splat 3 will probably end up a more distinct game, mechanically speaking, from its predecessor compared to the likes of Overwatch 2, which is the same shit with a different number of players.

>and Damage Up was thankfully removed until they fucking brought it back with Main Power Up
I'mma kill a bitch if they do it again.
What the FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK were they thinking?!

I must've left early on because I don't remember MPU chargers being meta defining.

Their logic is this:
>a new setting has been DLC before (octo expansion)
>a new single player campaign has been DLC before as well (again, octo expansion)
>new stages have been DLC before
>new specials have been DLC before
>new movement options have been DLC before (dualies dodge roll)
Just playing devil's advocate here, but that only leaves the new spawning mechanics, and then they would say "just this does not warrant a new game". Their retard logic is "if something was DLC before, why can't it just be DLC again? oh right, greed, Nintendo would rather get another $60 instead of doing more free updates when they could have just done that, greed is the only reason why there is a new game, that's it, that's all it is" Which, hehe, is totally not logical of a response at all, haha, this is totally dumb and retarded because...uh....well...um....we needed another Splatoon anyways, haters gonna hate.

Dualies were in Splat 2 from day 1

So if we assume Splatoon 3 will have its own new line of splatfests like the previous two games, does that disprove the Switch Pro coming next year to play LE SUPER NEXT GEN BOTW2 THAT WAS DELAYED TO BE ON THE SUPER LEET POWERFUL NEXT GEN HARDWARE?

I stopped playing the multiplayer of 1 like a month after it came out, I bought 2 on sale but never played it, is the single player in that good too?

Again, using their retarded logic, which they still see Splatoon 2 as DLC for 1.

If you liked Splatoon's singleplayer for some reason then 2's about the same
Octo expansion is the good shit, but it is an extra $20

the single player was the thing I liked most about it, it also had a pretty stellar final boss and some 10/10 music
i'll look into it though thanks, i don't remember is the gyro shit mandatory or just encouraged

2's final boss is kind of lame compared to 1's to be honest, though the theme is good.
Gyro isn't mandatory, but I don't see why you wouldn't use it really. Sticks-only feels like shit.

I wanted to play shit in bed but I'll see how it is, thanks.
