Lleyndel>Haligtree>Volcano Manor>Raya Lucaria>Farum Azula>Stormveil

Boletaria Castle.

The Royal Capital is some of their finest game design

For invasions, it's
>Stormveil
>Leyndell
>Volcano Manor
Stormveil is hands-down the best designed dungeon for invasions. Long, simultaneously linear and nonlinear, multiple methods to escape every room, and the banished knights are so strong that they'll kill hosts before you can reach them.

Redmane Castle is the worst legacy dungeon in the game, any way you look at it. Sheer disappointment.

redmane castle is not a "legacy dungeon" it's an open world castle like faroth, gael, sol etc

SOVL

I mean objectively it is not the most interesting as far as layout or lore or boss battles, but I really like the Ruin Strewn Precipice. The feeling of ascending is really powerful, and also I love the singing bat enemies.

Only place outside the mining caves were glowstones become useful.

All legacy dungeons were neat, volcano manor was kinda disappointing cause you just use a teleporter to get to Rykard instead of reaching him through level progression like all the others.

They're all as forgettable as the last.

Stormveil> Leyndell > Farum Azula > Volcano Manor > Raya Lucaria

It's a shame that Raya Lucaria sucks as a dungeon because my favorite area in the game in terms of visual aesthetics. Not sure what else would count as a legacy dungeon.

Wait, forgot Haligtree. Put it between Farum and Volcano.

>Stormveil that low
Why? Just didn't appeal to you? I thought it was incredibly designed. It felt like an actual castle.

Brehs I have to say it... Elden Ring looks like a last gen game.

He didn't ran through the main gate.

The graveyard ruined raya for me. It felt lazily designed. I was expecting a hogwarts-esque castle brimming with secret passages

the underground was probably my favourite areas in the game. siofra river all the way to astel.

I just wish the ambience wasn't so droning.

>All legacy dungeons were neat, volcano manor was kinda disappointing cause you just use a teleporter to get to Rykard instead of reaching him through level progression like all the others.

Not if you ignore the Volcano Manor quest and find the illusory wall first.

Fromsoft really hates doing the obvious thing with zones. For example, anor londo in DaS. Golden city with a million buildings and you just run around the rafters and take side rooms and fuck around on the elevator lol

Volcano Manor was chill

you’re fucking retarded

Great level. First time since blighttown I felt like I was knee deep in shit and had to fight my way out despite the unconditional fast travel.

Yea Raya is disappointingly small.
Same with Morne castle, when I saw that shit in the distance I was strapping in for a huge ass utilitarian fortress Demon's Souls style but what I got was like 15 minutes of content

I think he means even if you go the proper way without doing the manor quests its just a portal to the cave.

At the same time though it's cool that it was so developed for something to reward you with a cool weapon.

What what I meant and after you do all that there's just a teleporter that leaves you in front of Rykard, pretty fucking lame.

>What what
That's*

they are all like 2 rooms connected by a corridor. some have a ladder to the next room. its a fucking joke.

Stormveil hands down

>Haligtree that high
Explain yourself

Patrician.

those aren't legacy dungeons, dumbfriend. legacy dungeons are the big, proper areas like Volcano Manor, Stormveil, the magic castle, etc.

Stormveil Castle, Volcano Manor, Farum Azula and Leyndell.

They’re all pretty good but leyndell is pure kino

I didn't find Volcano Manor all that special. If anything it sort of reminded me of DSII and put a bad taste in my mouth

Can someone explain to me why it is called legacy dungeon and not just dungeon?
If I hear legacy I think if something of the past. Like vanilla dungeons are legacy dungeons while burning crusade ones are dungeons

yeah I didn't really like volcano manor at all
first time you go through it feels directionless, and next time you go through there's nothing really worth doing so you beeline for church of eiglay.

basically did this in DaS1 and it was my favorite playthrough ever
just a regular ass divine longsword. going through ToTG with the Skull Lantern, Cleric Robes and the open visor Knight Helm with my trusty sword was pure ludo

>tfw completely spoiled myself by twinking out a ballista/jar build for stormveil
one of the funnest builds in one of the funnest areas
everything else feels like shit in comparison

Shunning Grounds for sure.

Stormveil > Raya Lucaria > Farum Azula > Lleyndel > Haligtree
I skipped Volcano Manor

Not him but I agree completely with his ranking. Just because Stormveil is at the bottom doesn't mean it's bad. Stormveil is by far better than the best area in other Fromsoft game.

REEEE I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SCALE MT GELMIR AND UNLOCK THE MAP AND GET TO THE MANOR REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

What level are you supposed to be by the end of this game? I've seen some people say 150 and others say you should be in ng+ by that level.

my mother-in-law's castle

120 minimum I'd say

idk but I think I'm around 70-80% through and I'm like 116 so I'll probably be 150 or higher by the end

I actually think this dungeon was disappointing.
like your pic makes it look so epic but it's only like 30% of that you actually do.
still probably one of the best in the game

Actual old school from software level design tier
>volcano manor
>inverted study hall

Unmemorable tier
>everything else

Also theres too much roof hopping in every single dungeon

150-170 provides a considerable defense boost your character so that's the level range From expects you to be in for endgame.

They needed a distinction because there's the caves and shit you find in the open world, and then there's the "main" dungeons, which is really all they mean.

Whatever level you need to get 50 vigor and whatever stats you need for the rest of your shit.

At least 240. Gotta be 40 in all stats to experience this game. Higher for some items and spells.

Stormveil, but it wasn't all that good. I'll take 1-1 over it.

I wish Mohgwyn Palace was an actual legacy dungeon. Or that going there via Varre's questline let you speak to Mohg without fighting him.

But this is dark souls, not some role playing game with story and character.

The underground count as a legacy dungeon?

No, it's more like the 6th area.

oh
then leyndell

Up to 175 if you do everything (all side dungeons, field bosses, etc.), 150 if you're doing all the optional legacy dungeons and main areas. 125 if you're rushing through the main content.

>ummmmmm acktchually THIS is what a dungeon is, not THAT
lol no.
