Is this game worth playing solo-offline...

Is this game worth playing solo-offline? I'm not even gonna bother asking if it's GOOD yet (since apparently the answer is no)

Fuck I wish they hadn't ruined Country Roads posting

Have you beaten Fallout 1&2 yet?

Attached: Fallout 1.jpg (499x388, 54.4K)

Nah, level scaling ruined it.

>playing solo-offline
It's a failed multiplayer only game based around a pay to win store.
What do you think?

nope
just wait for fallout 5
hopefully they add some sort of co-op mode or something

Daily reminder that these are single-cell organisms who you're arguing with and who tell you game XYZ is "bad/overrated/aged" ect.

Just let that sink in.

76 is fo4 with dialogue trees, it's incredible

I was thinking about playing it, but as soon as I heard they also jumped on the seasonal battle-pass system, it really disappointed me.
I despise this FOMO bullshit that basically every-game uses now, just sucks that there's content that you'll never be able to unlock because you started playing after it was released.

>pay to win
Explain?

Kinda. Get it on a sale and play the questlines. Dont linger around for endgame.

I have 400 hours in, stopped playing like a year ago
yes, the first 100 hours are really decent at this point and I'm sure you can squeeze another 100 by doing the grindy stuff

in 2022 it has
>three campaigns size of fallout 3 main story if not bigger
also wastelanders campaign is genuinely one of the best written fallout stuff there is
>multiple weapon, armor, cosmetic farms to hook you up
>some great locations
>great events and side quests that will feel cool for 150-200 hours
>upcoming cool DLC in fall that will take players to Pitt and never before seen places
76 is at this point a game that will make you question what other games are frowned upon due to memes/bad launch

I'm upset that my 450 hours character is stuck on playstation while I switched to xbox this season, I'd probably play it regularly again if I could access my dweller again
ama anything btw if you want

FO3 or FNV
you can’t pick both
my opinion of you will change depending on your decision

Fuck you, I'm playing Fallout 2.

i think there’s plenty of fun to be had with 76. just know fallout 1st is required to have said fun. which is why i quit.

>is it solo friendly?
for the most part. you probably won’t be able to do some public events on your own though, enemy density is too high. maybe if you use an extremely cheesy build? but who knows

nv of course as an overall package, its my most played single player game
but I replayed 3 during first months of 'rona and it has some great locations, exploration and atmosphere, DC area is like pinnacle of map design if you dont hate subs

pic related, vanilla zion

>Console
ahh and I was almost convinced then you discarded your opinion...

if I cant mod 'em Ima play 'em on my console
simple as

I wish Bethesda had some genuine competition, i've been watching a lot of zack and mike and have a thirst for that sort of game but fuck me if i'm gonna reinstall NV and spend hours trying to mod it and make it work, or subject myself to fo4 (and much the same) again.

Its unplayable because graphics and gameplay is dated af.

nice
epic burn mr pc masterrace

no one likes you, go away

I don't want to play an ISO-CRPG though, I want to play a shooter with light survival and RPG elements that lets me customize guns and stuff

Eh, I mean it's fine. I don't think you can play offline (you can pay sheckles to be alone in your own server though) but it's not like other players are intrusive. You don't have to interact and you almost never see them anyway. It's an ok game if you just do the stories. The level scaling is fucked and after I finished all the story quests (there's about 80 hours of content) I had nothing else to do and dropped it.

tl;dr they fixed their shitheap game to be an "ok" game

Dude its a game meant to be some multiplayer co op shit.
Fallout 4 was underwhelming. Now imagine playing Fallout 76 without multiplayer. I'd rather play Brotherhood Of Steel unironically

Zoom zoom
Pools closed newfag, due to AIDs, and Stingrays

Attached: poolsclosed.jpg (800x600, 107.42K)

There's nothing WRONG with the original fallout games they just aren't what i'm interested in

To add to this you'll want to play in populated servers because you'll have so much shit lying around that you have to put stuff up for sale to get rid of it all. It's a good way to make passive cash because it gets annoying selling 300 purified water or all the chems no one uses except to pass skill checks

Hows the voice acting and dialogues laid out, You kinda convinced me to try it out, I have it free on gaypass anyway. I hope its better than outer worlds, that was too boring for me, FO4 was okayish kinda.

The Bethesda games tends to have worse writing, but the world design tends to be much better.

Then 76 is the perfect game for you buddy, enjoy

Game is trash but there's basically nothing in the store that makes it pay to win. Now if you're talking about black market legacy weapons then sure.

A lot of skill checks don't do anything until the later quests when they remembered they needed to do something. Also I got so used to being able to bail out of a Convo to use a chem for a skillcheck I was taken aback when a guy aggroed when I left the convo

i hope you get payed for this.

There's no battle pass.
If you're talking about actual seasons, those are completely free and just add addition item unlockables for doing in game stuff. Similar to older MMO events.

trying too hard bud

Attached: panels closed.jpg (600x450, 68.24K)

Also you can fill out most of the board without even trying. I just played the main story and got halfway through both seasons without trying

>fallout 76
>original games
Way to out yourself zoom zoom.

It's an extremely grindy MMO with pay 2 win features and a subscription model that gives you the privilege to play by yourself or with friends.
It's like RUST set in Fallout but for carebears that don't want to kill each other, considering how much the pvp was nerfed into the ground.

Game is fallout 4 but better. Unironically.
Plays the same, except the quest are better the weapons are more numerous, and the voiced protagonist is nowhere to be seen.
Plus there's no mega retarded railroad or institute faction shit.
You can also play basically solo barring the end game 2 events and a couple other random events nobody plays anyway

for wastelanders arc, its really, really good. like, again, its MUCH better than 4 and 3, its grounded and has a lot of fun stuff
also, and this is important, for this arc, do not pick sides unless its the point of no return and do every quest until that point
BoS arc is OK too but I havent played its second chapter but overall its an OK experience, its BoS doing BoS shit
Enclave is kino

there is also another questline that shipped with the game that has you discovering what happened to folk (wastelanders patch had a timeskip of one year, before that the game didn't have a single NPC. someone will probably fill you in-game though) and this overseer campaign is very much liked by some folk, was not my cup of tea but I'd not be surprised if you were immersed

there are also
>decent skillchecks
>silent MC
>fun robots wandering around the map as they were the backbone of the game for some time
>surprising amount of random NPC encounters across the map, some are kino
>well written regional lore

for clarity's sake
nigger

also I have not purchased Fallout First ever and experienced little to none inventory issues so you do not have to buy that, but there are some significant items in atom shop so when you earn atoms it would be wise to spend them on some "essential" items instead of cosmetic ones

No one ever claimed 76 was anything like the original games, you fucking retard. Obviously I was referring to Fallout 1 & 2, the isometric CRPG's made by black isle. Bethesda made it an rpg-lite shooter literally just so they could continue to use the same engine they've used for every game since morrowind.

But I don't WANT to play a CRPG.

>pay2win
You've literally never played obviously.
There's a mountain of stuff to shit on in fo76, but you pick the one thing the game doesn't have to bitch about.

It's unironically a better game than fallout 4 but that's not saying much

Don't break the masquerade, man. It's all I have going right now.

Oh please fuck off, at least use a convincing argument to justify not paying for the stupid fucking storage box.

You can't realistically expect zoomers to play or even beat games made prior to 2015, its simply unrealistic.

Its okay there are moments of brilliance but their is a real lack of interesting story even the added stuff is just bland and doesn't feel like official content all the quest chains feel like mods.

Again, how is a storage box pay2win? Does it give you more damage? Make you harder to kill? Give you any advantage against another player? Does it make monster easier?
No? Then fuck off.

This game was so ahead of its time.

RIP TYCHO

Are you able to obtain the item unlockables after a season is over?
I might actually start playing if that's the case.

No, it really isn't because I bought it exactly for that. You will be partied with people no matter what because they give you free fast travel and perks which can include extremely vital things like mutation perks 20+ levels before you get access to any of them.

The entire main story is basically finding a bunch of logs and then it turns out the person behind it was dead/a robot/left Appalachia! The "companions" (I.E. the people you can stick in your CAMP) are just bland and their story is barely interesting enough to keep you going but not interesting enough to care any more than that. The new content (So everything added after launch) is a bit better, but the Enclave stuff is beyond unbelievable, and the story behind so many areas is pure idiocy once you start thinking about it. The town at the bottom-right of the map and Whitespring are unbelievably stupid and Whitespring especially because you literally have logs explicitly explaining things. You even have people setting up camp in the middle of swamps filled with Bloodbugs and Radtoads that attack them daily, it's so dumb it hurts to think about.

A majority of the entire world is also robots. It's just robots doing stuff and you talking to them. There's like three major human settlements and that's it while a couple people are scattered about the starting areas. You also don't see any cryptids for hours, and it took me about 150 hours to see my first Sheepsquatch and Flatwoods Monster. Mothmen will attack and teleport to you constantly but everything else basically don't exist. You will be fighting Scorched (Glorified Ghouls), Super Mutants, and Floaters like 99% of the time.

>RIP TYCHO
stop fucking walking in front of me, faggot

>being disingenuous on purpose
I accept your concession, whale.

>Are you able to obtain the item unlockables after a season is over?
Nope. The "season passes" are battle passes, I don't know why he's being so disingenuous because it's literally the same "Do these goals to gain points to level up this card so you get free stuff from it or pay premium currency to take shortcuts". You do dailies to level up in addition to weeklies. They're around for like three or four months before they cycle them out. They also cycle out all the Atom Shop items constantly but they do bring those items back randomly at least.

Why should I play some pixel bullshit that looks/plays worse than most phone games. If youre old af I get it might be nostalgia or something but its just aged badly and a completely different game.

>aged badly
played them easily as a zoomer, you have no excuse

Fallout 2 is fucking hipster trash.
Fallout 1 is kino.

fo2 drains any humanity from the first game and replaces it with jokes about slavery, prostitution and drugs

>no argument
I accept your concession.

Imagine thinking graphics have literally any bearing on a game being fun. Graphics cover for shitty games or at best enhance a mediocre game.
Fucking stardew valley sold millions and that game looks like shit.

>no u
I accept your concession.
