It's an Ultimate, meaning it's just another minstrels ballad. Canonically it's just a song of what the WoL could've done from previous encounters.

the game explicitly calls back to Haurchefant like 10 times, as the most major of people the WoL couldn't save, and to underscore that for all the power they wield, dead people are still dead, how the fuck could you easily forget a character they hit you over the head with's death.

He is still dead, the point is to show you how twisted the alternate timeline where he lived would be.
