It doesn't need to be sexy. As long as it is a character that fits naturally in with the game as a whole instead of some cardboard cutout of a "person". It is blatantly obvious in western games that most of those characters are just there to be a mascot for some small group demanding representation. It's pretty degrading honestly. If I was a fag I would be offended at the portrayal of LGBT characters in most western games. That is usually the depth of their character, their entirety identity.

Hollywood rejects that think they are making art. Just make a fucking game instead of a movie if you want me to stop hating your work. They think they are telling stories on par with dramatic films but what they fail to understand is that they are essentially making films completely with CGI and huge chunks of gameplay between the story portions. I don't care how mad you make your CGI woman. She isn't a real woman. All of the nuances of a good actress in a film are lost when it is CGI. All of the microexpressions, tone of voice etc. are lost. Probably partly because she did it all in a sound booth or with a shitload of motion capture shit on and around her.
