>he watches Oney for anything but the banter
Let's Plays are cringe.

It wasn't perfect and God help you if you didn't play the GameCube version but Heroes is the game that made me fall in love with the series. Not to mention the music was beyond top notch.

No because lying is bad.

no way.
i bought it when it was new and even as a dumb tween sonic fan i never thought it was more than just decent.
>What I'm made of > Live and Learn
this i can agree with though

>Sonic Heroes thread
What a coincidence, I literally just played the PC version about five minutes ago

I was under the assumption that every version besides the PS2 port was at least passable,

Even as a kid I thought Heroes was disappointing.

Why make a webm of slow, bog standard gameplay filled with scripted events? Is this meant to be impressive? You even pussied out by using Rouge for the fruit instead of Shadow

Is this better?

SHIT ROCK YEAH

>downloaded it
>runs fine on windows 10
>ds4 binds were weird but easily configurable
wow , it's like I never left for 20 years
what about this video letter from robotnik though?

Attached: 27405.jpg (640x480, 89.63K)

I didn't finish it as a kid on the PS2 because even then I realized it was absolute janky shit. I didn't know it was a port issue.

Maybe I'll go back and play it one day if it actually plays decent on other platforms.

>what about this video letter from robotnik though?
It's actually bait from Metal Sonic.

I never had an issue with the gamecube version

GameCube and Xbox versions are fine.

zoomer thread

Zoomers hate Heroes.

Everyone hates Heroes.

No. They don’t.

>SA1
>Play as Sonic for an entire story before you have to switch to the unfun characters
>SA2
>Play as Sonic for just one level before you have to switch to the unfun characters
>Heroes
>Play as Sonic for 5 fucking seconds before you have to switch to the unfun characters

Then why is it one of my favorite games of all time?

Attached: Sonic Heroes physics trick.webm (640x360, 2.78M)

Because you're an autist with narrow horizons.

>Shadow
>never play as Sonic
lol

Not an argument.

>Not an argument.
It wasn't an argument, it was an explanation.

Heroes is a great Sonic game, but its high skill requirement led to many opinions like "the controls are bad, it's buggy!"
note that there are very few bugs, and the controls are fine once you learn them
turns out controlling a high acceleration character in 3D is difficult who knew
>B-B-BUT ADVENTURE
uses the exact same control system
when I played through adventure 2 I was surprised how similarly it controlled
>B-B-BUT THEY TWEAKED THE ACCELEATION
So it's a little harder but more rewarding to learn? Okay cool
The original disappointment of Heroes comes from Adventurefags expecting another open world adventure game. The fact that Heroes was using the classic formula of 2 levels, one building on the next, and then a boss, went over their heads
Every other negative opinion comes from people who couldn't learn how to control the characters and e-celebs
The art direction and music in this game is 10/10, and the levels are so memorable. I wish we could have a Heroes 2.

>The original disappointment of Heroes comes from Adventurefags expecting another open world adventure game.
Why would they expect that when SA2 didn't have open hubs either.
Try again.

Don't have covid so my taste are still in tact.

I dunno why you would try to defend the controls. It's very easy to cause the camera to spaz out and fall out when you go round the loops.
I don't even hate the game, but don't pretend it doesn't have problems.

You're literally doing a SA1 trick with far more effort.
On a modded in SA1 stage. Come on now.

works on my machine

You just posted cringe.

2B!

So what retard zoomer made a youtube video with a title that is something along the lines of "Sonic Heroes: actually an underrated masterpiece!" or something?

yes, off you go 2 Yea Forums

Already open in another tab.

shitty baby art direction. killed the series

I kneel

just put a brown filter on your screen, big man

youtube.com/watch?v=iTyXbvwUj2g

What? Heroes has some of the best art direction in the series.

go back

To?

>black skybox with stock moon image
o i am laffin

Even as a kid I didn't like this game.

do you have a different example? this looks terrible

Soul

>still not on steam

I've always disliked how Heroes went back to the fantastical and non-sensical level locations.
I feel like the Adventure games using plausible locales really set them apart from the Classics, especially with SA2 being one of the only games that doesn't start on a beach with hills zone, and I've always felt like part of the appeal of Sonic is seeing him run around in plausible locations so you can really get a sense of his speed and dominance over the terrain that a normal human wouldn't even dream of accomplishing.
Heroes kinda just walked all of that back and none of the levels even follow any kind of logical sequential order.

Was it really that janky?other the annoying casino mission, I didn't have much trouble with it when i was a kid

>Was it really that janky?
Depends: Are you playing the PS2 version?

Attached: Sonic Heroes glitch.webm (480x360, 2.16M)

Yeah was playing that version

Are the other versions that bad? I only ever played the Xbox version and I remember that was a pretty janky piece of shit too

I'm ready to admit that I'm tired of your stale bait.

>using Flight Mode because he's too scared of the game's janky physics

lmao

i want to fuck espio

I played the Gamecube version and I remember it being a jankfest too.

This is genuine cope. You're literally going "It's bad, but it feels good to get control of it despite it being bad." and stutter posting away genuine criticism.

Sauce plz

Well that depends. Can you go fuck yourself?

Attached: 1637040169738.png (1200x1200, 1.68M)

I'll give this to you; it has great soundtrack and good visuals.

But ultimately what it comes down to is the gameplay and controls, and both of those are really mediocre.

6/10

>I'll give this to you; it has great soundtrack and good visuals.
>But ultimately what it comes down to is the gameplay and controls, and both of those are really mediocre.
Isn't this just every 3D Sonic game, though?

Generations and SA1 were pretty good.

God I need to fuck Honey

We get it, you hate other characters.

Go back to Sonic 1.

Where did I say it's bad?

No, Sonic Heroes lacks inherently fun physics, such as bouncing really high off a powerup box when you have falling momentum in classic Sonic, or the varied and seamless moveset in Mario 64.

Are we still pretending that SA2 wasn't a complete improvement over SA1 in every way?

Attached: Sonic Adventure 2 Sky Rail.webm (640x360, 2.86M)

oh no this game is legitimately terrible
i literally had more fun playing sonic 06 than this "change your character constantly horsehsit"

I bought it at release and the lower production values and quality compared to SA2 was glaringly obvious. I won't even go into the flaws it has as they are so well known.
