ELDEN RING LORE THREAD

silver tears, mimic tears, and oracle envoys are albinauric creatures made by the eternal cities.
>silver tears
rennala uses the larval tears they drop for her rebirth
>Material required by the amber egg cradled by Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, to birth people anew.
all the people rennala births are frail and short-lived, plus notice how all the sweetings in her boss room were unable to use their legs. they're first generation albinaurics
>Children born anew by Rennala are all frail and short-lived. Imperfect beings, each and all.
seeing as the eternal city's silver tears are essential to making an albinauric, its likely they are a form of precursor creature to albinaurics
>Albinaurics are lifeforms made by human hands.
albinauric blood is silver, nothing in the game but albinaurics like oracle envoys has silver blood.
see pic rel
furthermore, Thops literally says albinaurics were originally made by the eternal cities in some of his dialogue (not sure if its cut though)
>Oh, one more thing... Beware the Albinaurics... accursed souls born of a forbidden rite of the Eternal City.
silver tears & mimic tears are found exclusively around the eternal cities.
>but oracle envoys arent found in the eternal cities??
they moved above ground, but there is proof they used to be underground.
check the descriptions of the claymens' bubble sorceries
>The claymen search for lost oracles within their bubbles.
the names of the claymen bubble sorceries, Great Oracular Bubble and Oracular Bubble, are the exact same as the name of the skills on the oracle envoys horns.
it seems likely that the lost oracles the claymen are searching for are the oracle envoys (nothing else in the game is described as an oracle anyways), and claymen are found exclusively underground, around uhl/uld palace ruins, which are always nearby or above an eternal city.
one way or another, the oracle envoys were brought from the underground to the surface.

>Thinks the GW exiled the Tarnished

half of those things were queen marikas personal initiative

Attached: elden ring waifus.jpg (640x326, 107.32K)

Marika was the god chosen by the GW, its on it too.

All of the GO's fuckery was due to Marika, not the GW. The GW is akin to the abrahamic god, with a strict non-intervention policy after the initial seeding. It's why Goldmask intends to remove the autonomy of the middleman so the GW's order is followed to the letter, with no fallible interpretation by a human mouthpiece.

>albinauric
>literally white gold

tell that to the Nox and their chink products

>the god, followers and religion of the GW were bad but the GW is good trust me

>oracles created by the Nox
>their horns herald a new god/age
>they’re all playing when (You) show up
why did the Nox create things that are capable of determining when a new god/age is upon them?

the real golden order has never been tried

You don't have to trust me, just the guy who spent his entire life to figure it out and provided a solution before peacing out.

Attached: goldmask.jpg (640x847, 57.85K)

Because they were waiting for their "Lord of Night". They probably mass produced mimic tears and brought them before oracles to see if they tooted. If they didn't, the tear was discarded.

>Long ago, the Nox invoked the ire of the Greater Will, and were banished deep underground. Now they live under a false night sky, in eternal anticipation of their liege. Of the coming age of the stars. And their Lord of Night.
THEY ARE HERALDS OF THE AGE OF STARS AND LORD OF NIGHT.
AGE OF STARS IS THE CANONICAL ENDING

I don't trust him either, his solution is just leaving humanity fully to some unknown alien.

Why are Carian and Crystallian the same?

they have connections

When Marika wasn't doing her own thing, the Lands Between thrived and a quite literal golden age was visited upon the people. So it seems that as long as there isn't a power hungry cunt at the helm, the GO provides bountifully. Morgott even backs this up, by being pro-GO even though he bore the brunt of Marika's ire personally.

I'm pretty sure the Oracles are ancient or alien creatures, everything about them is way more sinister than they initially present. They probably precede the Elden Beast. The Nox simply happened upon whatever force relates to them.

Worth noting that Bubble and Night have the giant throne you can find a spooky giant skeleton sitting on, complete with the little door that goes to a small room under it

>doesn't say anything
>has a retard follower who either is making up stuff as he goes along or can read Two Finger language without knowing he can read Two Finger language
>creates a rune titled "Mending Rune of the Perfect Order"
>runes description confirm it does not literally perfect the order, but attempts to by just removing Marika's influence
>Corhyn calls him insane and a heretic
>some retards install this rune anyway
Goldfag is pathetic, and his followers can't even agree on what his rune does
Low IQ ending for Low IQ players
>it says its perfect, so it is!!!

Attached: file.png (745x601, 68.17K)

So blaming everything on Marika is how you fags defend the GW now? That just means the GW hasn't done shit so the Goldmask ending is no different than Ranni's.

night sorcery as a whole originates from the eternal cities
bubble sorcery and claymen likely had some relation with the eternal cities due to the exact same sigils and clayman proximity to eternal cities

Like what? I thought it was mostly academy oriented but that crest is different from the Crystalian one.

>When Marika wasn't doing her own thing, the Lands Between thrived and a quite literal golden age was visited upon the people.
Do you think Marika took over before or after the genocides?

Magic Downpour description:
>One of the sorceries of the Carian royal family.
>Said to have been taught by the Crystalians to mark the swearing of the old concord.
honestly thats it. only connection i know of besides crystalian magic using the carian royal crest

Goldmask's powers of pure autism is my second favorite ending after pissing off on a long honeymoon with Ranni.

The GW seeded (orderly) civilization and provided the guidelines for prosperity and a failsafe in the form of the ring (aka the elden beast). It does not directly interact with creation beyond this initial setup. It was up to Marika to follow those guidelines. She did not. By making it so that Marika (and whoever takes her place) HAS to follow them, prosperity is ensured.

GW sent the Elden Beast and propagated the Erdtree to bring order to life, creating evolution.
It's a laid-back CEO.

What does she even plan to do with you for 1000 years? I mean, 1000 years alone with your husband? In the deepest reaches of space, far far away from anyone else? What was she thinking?

She'll perfect those 4 handed handjobs, duh.

Even if that was true, it just means it isn't needed anymore. Humanity took from it and now they can freely discard it since keeping it around only leads to blind fanatism and demigods going on powertrips.

>night and bubble are the same
Now that's neat

>if things go wrong back in the Lands Between the remaining humans won't be able to fix the problem since the Elden Ring has fucked off

Elden Ring where the fuck do I go after Academy thread. I did what I could find of dungeons around the lake, but I dunno what to pursue after the academy. There's nothing around Liurnia which looks like a key location. In which direction should I go after the academy?

Goldmask is good for putting a chain on those fanatics.

Carian Manor or Caelid dumbo

>Since keeping it around only leads to blind fanatism and demigods going on powertrips

But it won't with Goldmask's alteration. No matter what anyone else does or says, if the appointed vessel (which is now lobotomized) does not okay it, it won't get done. Why would you discard an incredibly advanced alien device that is capable of altering reality if you can ensure that it won't be abused?

if you didnt do rannis quest, do it.
go to the western part of liurnia and find a way up there, then head north. kingsrealm ruins is not a deadend.
if you did rannis quest, head to the academy gates and take the seal portal thing that points north-north east. it will take you to bellum highway which has multiple routes to atlus plateau

Either Altus or Caelid, you can get to Altus from Liurnia either using the lift or following the river up north.

huh, neat

what do you mean by this. what problem requires the elden ring to be fixed that isnt caused by the elden ring being broken

Because there's no guarantee that alien is benign at all. Marika learned something about it that made her tear down the whole system, Godfrey seemed to agree with her too. And seeing its history of wars and genocides I'm inclined to agree too.

>go to the western part of liurnia and find a way up there,
I'll try that, because I've not yet met Ranni. I've been wanting to respec and I see I can do it now with the correct item but I'm worried about doing it too soon. How limited is the respec item?

Radahn should be your next big boss

>Godwyn and the Deathroot spreading
>Scarlet Rot
>Frenzied Flame and the (((merchants)))
>Formless Mother cult

why did the black blade dudes kill iji if they were (supposedly) led by ranni?

What Marika saw was its plans to replace her. She was fucking things up so bad that the usually hands-off god was going to directly intervene in matters and have her deposed.

Marika had a lot of personal things going on, especially the curses on her children, some may or may not her favorites. However, I do think she is considering her family in this whole rebellion.
I doubt she cared about wars and everything given that she propagated the fighting of the Tarnisheds.

You don't know that, it's literally never explained.

Iji was killed with black flame of the Godskin, yes I know about the surrounding BK corpses.

>How limited is the respec item?
not limited at all, you can redistribute everything besides the stats you started the game with. only problem is the larval tears are limited in number, so try not to respec all willy nilly. there should still be enough for you to try whatever build you want in a single playthrough though

the only thing I gathered is that Marika only gave a iota of a fuck about Godwyn, who was mommy's very special boy, and nobody else

Everything she does is to cling to her position.

Attached: 1650913507319s.jpg (125x70, 1.53K)

>>Godwyn and the Deathroot spreading
use holy weapons + fire and go purify the deeproot depths
>>Scarlet Rot
get some pyromancers and start purifying caelid. smouldering wall keeps the rot in, use more fire to kill it off gradually
>>Frenzied Flame and the (((merchants)))
besides being roving maniacs they pose no real threat to the world at large, especially with the elden ring gone.
>>Formless Mother cult
you killed mohg and all the nobles on the way to him. they're basically all dead

you dont need the ring to deal with any of these

Sorry ant pic. Gideon also mentioned that she was upset at Miquella's kidnap.

Attached: twgrherhb.jpg (1920x1080, 188.69K)

How is destroying the elden ring clinging to her position? She's literally destroying the thing that makes her a god.

I remember one of the Melina dialogues at a church about Marika said that if her children didn't live up to what she expected they would be little more than sacrifices

Ranni has specific dialogue that tells you that no other forces can do anything during her age. That's the whole point of what she's doing.

I don't really think that Albinaurics are connected to the Oracles, or at least not directly. Maybe they are both made out of the same "substance" that has been molded by human hands to create Albinaurics.

and how will you wrangle up a functional country to deal with all those things when the best candidate for monarch and Empyrean just bailed on the world after killing every other person who could possibly stabilize the situtation?

I think it's more that her children have to be good and strong or they would be a sacrifice in the war (Tarnished coming to take their runes). Looking at the situation with Godfrey, I think her whole goal was to make them strong.

The only way I can seen Goldmask's ending as being good is if you have some severe OCD and think an order of mathematical perfection (probably with GW still at head) he devised is somehow better then leaving people do whatever they actually want
I mean, pre-golden order dominance, despite all odds, the astrologers were probably buddies with the Giants, despite the clear ideological discrepancies since the former are int-based magic scientists and the latter are faith-based fire-god worshipers, everything can be conjoined as Goldmask says himself

>source: dude trust me
If the GW who was 1000x more hands-on than Ranni and the Moon would be had problems with other gods fucking with their shit why would I ever believe they would suddenly fuck off because Ranni said so?

She doesn't. I have seen both versions and even the alternate ending of her, age of the mind.

Who cares, Dung Eater did nothing wrong

The main character is a complete silver tear. This is why they can change shape at the mirror and why Rennala can change them without them going insane or dying.

Attached: 1649966161409.jpg (500x494, 17.3K)

> I have seen [...] the alternate ending of her, age of the mind.
"Seen" ?
Did someone restore that thing or do you just mean reading the script ?

Why does Thop's Barrier deserve it's own conspectus? What is so special about it?

Attached: Thopss-Barrier.jpg (695x716, 116.53K)

Because she "destroyed" it (the beast is barely cracked, but apparently it was enough to sever the GW from the LB) with the plan to recall the Tarnished (that she sent away when she learned of her impending impeachment) who would become Elden Lord and keep her as consort. It's her buying time.

Well, even knowing larval tears are limited despite granting a full re-allocation of stats, it's kinda concerning because I don't have much of a goal yet. I've been playing fth/arc trying to capitalize on dragon incants, lightning spear, and reduvia. I stumbled upon Radagon's Soreseal thankfully while, faggily, following advice about the big dead dragon cunt in Caedia.

At the moment I'm wielding dragon communion seal with lordsworn greatsword (bloody slash ash for arcane scaling). I've been pumping ARC for damage scaling but I'm not sure what to expect of future FTH requirements or better STR options later. I also have DEX that is probably too high at the moment because I boosted it earlier only for Reduvia.

At the moment I find myself swapping items a lot due to limited equip load. I have the talisman which restores HP on critical hit, so I equip that when I intend to backstab someone. Alternatively, if I see melee enemies that I don't feel I can backstab, I'll replace my seal with a shield so I can guard counter and then crit them for health restore in that way. Alternatively, I sometimes I equip the sacrificial axe for FP restore when I know I'm not going to be using FP in an encounter.

I guess I'm just trying to be a dragonman at the moment while having viable melee options so I'm not running out of FP, but I don't have the equip load to balance my regen options so I'm constantly swapping via menus. I dunno if that's normal or not.

It's in the full script.

There are like 20 larval tears in game iirc

What was the lore behind the Carian-Academy civil war?
