Sucking at fighting games is typical, but it's nice to see folks just enjoy the characters. I'm in the same boat though so don't even worry!

Canonically fat, eh? Not a lot of that while still looking good. Most are played for jokes (Looking at you, Borderlands). Fat Princess is the ultimate Architect game considering it's CTF where the flag is an ever-fattening princess.
But Melony in Pokemon SwSh was absolutely design to be a plus-sized lady. Sure fan art exaggerates, but she's definitely plump.

G*nshin Impact has Ganyu, who lore-wise was a chubster and choked a monster to death when it tried to eat her, vastly underestimating her waistline. Granted, that's written in past tense, as the Ganyu you see in game is slim, but it's nice to imagine. The game also mentions frequently that she has trouble controlling her appetite and weight, and I'm convinced that all of this was written by some architect at hoyoverse.

I always forget about Ganyu, never played her game though but I love the idea of a character who used to be chunky and still struggles with it.
It's funny but I missed the train with Fat Princess, but I wish I had the chance to play when it was new.

It's not as terrible as people make it out to be. There are two other main girls who have characterization around having trouble controlling their weights, and plenty of cute fat NPCs scattered around the world, pic related.
This is why I say there is at least one architect in the dev team.
And disregarding architecture, the game has some very well thought out lore, it's cool.
