ER LORE
Marika literally ordered people to hunt down TWLID and chop off the horns of omen babies which killed most of them. that was the golden order. she used her free will to make it that way. im asking why couldn't she go one step further and make a mending rune that does that all for her instead of doing it the hard way like a normal government
---
GO hunts down TWLID
>Highly effective against Those Who Live in Death, even preventing them from rising again. The Golden Order has no mercy for those who trespass beyond life's bounds.
>There is no place in the Golden Order for those who have exceeded life's bounds. These blemishes must be hunted down by the Virtuous.
GO is a bunch of murdering bastards forcing their laws on people.
>Grace was brought to the very fringes and lowlands of the Lands Between. And with the Golden Order came the weight of its history. A history of conquest and subjugation.
GO is just a set of laws that can change cuz Radagon got horny.
>[325005030] Fascinating, isn't it?
>[325005040] That the Golden Order was pliable enough to absorb practices that contradicted itself in the past.
The GO mistreated Omen, even those part of the GO Royalty
>That the Omen King was born of the golden lineage, and that he was indeed the Lord of Leyndell.
>Omen babies born of royalty do not have their horns excised, but instead are kept underground, unbeknownst to anyone, imprisoned for eternity.
>Tricia was once known as a healer who dedicated her efforts to treating Misbegotten, Omen, and all those seen as impure.
Marika did not remove the Rune of Death from the Elden Ring.
Link to the wrong post, sorry:
In the English version, the mending rune of the Death Prince describes when the Golden Order was founded as when the Rune of Death was:
>plucked from the Golden Order
Not from the Elden Ring. Isn't that weird and nonsensical?
Do you want to know why this line doesn't make any sense?
I mean, maybe it makes sense if you are translator just looking at a spreadsheet of lines to translate in a weird fantasy game. But to anyone that knows the games lore, this line makes no sense. How do you pluck out a rune of the Golden Order? The GO is not the ER. Also if you know the timeline in the OP, you'll now that Maliketh "plucked" the Rune of Death from the GEQ.
Here's the big reveal:
>黄金の律のはじまりに、取り除かれ、封じられた影
>"A shadow taken and sealed away at the beginning of the Golden Order."
In the original Japanese it doesn't say who or what it was "taken" from.
In the English the TRANSlator decided to just make it up and specify that it was taken from the "Golden Order" even though that is NOT what it says and does NOT make sense from a lore point of view
What is that?
this
wow... trees on top of trees... thats like... deep lore, man..
Reminder that the Elden Stars incantation is for an even older Erdtree than the crucible incantations
Rotten Staff.
>Ceremonial staff depicting the Erdtree in its historic radiance. It festers with scarlet rot.
>Wielded by the avatars who protect the Minor Erdtrees.
Basically the Rot tree avatar you fight in the Haligtree is the protector of the tree, taking the Haligtree sigil as its staff. Later when the tree became rotted, the staff and the avatar would be rotted as well.
This is a piece of good information because the rotten staff tells that the avatar would protect the "minor Erdtree", which didn't happen until after the Shattering. Miquella could have taken one of the golden seeds along with its protector and molded it to become his Haligtree.
If my speculation is true, then the Haligtree was created AFTER the Shattering.
>depicting the Erdtree
that shit looks nothing like a tree
still just copypasting huh?
...
no, i removed the picture of the worm thingy so autists wouldn't piss their pants over it.
>seedbed curse in Haligtree
how did Dung Eater do it without the medallions? Did Miquella invite him in because he accepts any degenerate?
Elden Ring takes place in Demon Souls universe
I'm thinking the doodooeater isn't the only one defiling corpses around the game
Check the dialogue from D when he kills you after killing Fia
This was the normal version.
I wish we knew more about the regions outside the Lands Between. One thing that particularly interests me is the confessor set's description
>The churches outside the Lands Between, dedicated to the teachings of the Two Fingers, send confessors out to follow the guidance of grace.
Which mentions that the Golden Order has an established presence even in foreign lands. It makes me wonder how other people must view the Lands Between: Is it a suzerain-tributary/Papacy sort of deal with awestruck foreigners revering the Lands Between as a holy land and cradle of faith? Or do the foreigners see Lands Betweeners as weird, tree-worshipping autists whose power is only begrudgingly accepted? A mix of both?
we will never receive the answers to these questions
Why did we start the game in some isolated shack untop of an impossible to get mountain
everything outside seems like a shithole, Horah Loux rules "the badlands" and is obviously a savage. Maybe a few spots of civilization like wherever Tanith is from and Land of Reeds
Ranni teleported u there
That's dumb
If the golden order is mentioned in foreign lands, then they're seen as many other empires were in our own history
Headcanon post here, please feel free to piss on me:
>there were plans to have multiple different possible routes to burning the erdtree (possibly also different maiden choices than just Melina), hence the variety of different flames in the game/lore
>Giantsflame (typical flame, maiden Melina)
>Frenzy Flame (crazy yellow flame, maiden Hyetta)
>Ghostflame (frost/white flame, maiden Ranni/Renna/whatever the third sister's name was going to be)
>Blackflame (death flame, maiden gloam-eyed-queen-related)
>Bloodflame (crimson flame, maiden Mohg/Varre)
you DUMB MOTHERFUCKER
YOU ARENT SUPPOSED TO LINK TO THE PREVIOUS THREAD THIS IS A FUCKING GENERAL NOW
AND YOU DIDNT EVEN PUT ELDEN RING IN THE TITLE YOU UTTER RETARD HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND THIS THREAD WITH A CTRL + F
>game has horrid input queue that will fuck you over if you mash, making you do attacks or rolls after having been staggered thus making you eat another hit usually
>at the same time the game has a horrible problem with input drops meaning that you often times have to mash in order to get the game to fucking operate
>i.e. you get fucked for mashing and you get fucked for not mashing
This alone doesn't get brought up enough honestly, its fucking horseshit
You forget the death flame from the Eclipsed Shotel.
Open wide
Normal westerner here. Can a weeb explain to me why ranni and the other chick have an eye constantly closed for no reason?
This shit pisses me off so much.
I have an autistic idea for how the game should've started but it's just fantasy.

Wait I thought Melania and Radahn were demi gods and not actually gods? Miquella is suppose to be a god so it doesn't make sense that Melina is his sister. Ryker, Ranni, Marika, Radagon, and literal who that was the first to die were actual gods.
in melina's (the other chick) case unironically it's to seal her sharingan
What
They're all demigods
Is it different from other blackflames that deal DoT on hit and kill demigods?
Because they're the same person
source: my ass
It inflicts deathblight.
don't forget the purple flame that makes you fall asleep lmfao
stop mashing casul
then go find another thread
Ranni has a spirit face and a doll face, in order to keep normal stereoscopic vision she has both the doll and the spirit close 1 eye each
The first 2 already happen.
Ranni, Mohg and Shabriri, have each come in contact with different entities from outer space, which have their own plans for the world. They're all intent in overthrowing the Greater Will which, as it stands, are the God of the lands Between and creators of the Elden Ring.
Once the demi gods got a piece of it through runes, they got the power to challenge and even kill a God, which is why they attracted the attention of other outer gods from the cosmos.
What happens in the game is basically a colony rebelling against its empire, receiving foreign aid from other nations who would benefit from its independence, not unlike what happened throughout the American continent 200 years ago
Good point, add that to the list (maiden Fia, probably).
I also forgot:
>Infernal Flame of Agheel (dragonflame, maiden wandering noble); Burn true!
Ryker, Ranni, Marika, Miquella, and Radagon all have powers of an actual god. Melina is not godlike and just a good warrior. Same with Radahn , he was just a normal guy who learned gravity magic.
Actually the Deathflame is only happening with the Eclipsed Shotel, which is not related to Fia.
Not sure how to put this in...
IIRC, Castle Sol was attempting an eclipse ritual to return Godwyn's soul to his body (from the ghost dude on the ramparts). Godwyn is the source of deathblight and Fia has chosen to be his deathbed companion.
The fuck are you talking about, Rykard Ranni and Miquella are demigods, the latter two empyreans.
What connections do the Sellians have to the Nox/Eternal Cities?
>The descriptions of two Sellian Night Sorceries outright say they originate from the Eternal City
>Night Sorcery sigil is the sigil of the Eternal City/Nox
>One of the Eternal Cities big thrones is in Sellia
>The bosses of Sellia are Nox Swordstress/Monk
Anything else?
...
That funny branch above the tree above the big tree looks like the rot incantation symbol.
Yeah ER is the jankiest. Just cheat back, the world is your oyster in the open world and you can cheese bosses to hell and back.
They got the power to be demi Gods after acquiring great runes from the recently shattered Elden Ring
In the case of Ranni, Malenia and Miquella, they were pre chosen by the Greater Will to replace Marika, because she fucking shattered the Ring in the first place.
That's why the 3 of them could achieve full Godhood
the chair crypt right outside the gates that isn't occupied is a very questionable piece of architecture
Fair enough.
Where do you put the medals for the big elevator?
>In the case of Ranni, Malenia and Miquella, they were pre chosen by the Greater Will to replace Marika, because she fucking shattered the Ring in the first place
Nigger, what? Ranni literally tells you that she killed herself to avoid just that, and this happens before Marika shatters the ring.
Malenia and Radahn do not have the powers of a god, they are lesser than Ranni, Ryker, and Miquella who are true gods
You mean this?
Someone also mentions that Sellians are also assassins and they were the Black Knife, possible?
>Ranni, Ryker, and Miquella who are true gods
No they're not
The intro of the game makes it pretty clear that the ring was shattered, then Destined Death was stolen, used to kill Godwyn, which spurred the war.
Did the game lie to me?
>the game makes it pretty clear that the ring was shattered, then Destined Death was stolen
i give up, these threads will always be filled with trolls and people that are ignorant posting on purpose
You know just because the trailer shows the ring being shattered and saying that Marika disappeared first doesn't mean it happened like that chronologically
Malenia has a great rune and was contacted by the outer God of rot, which is an entity of the same scale of the Greater Will, so they can also make a God in the Lands Between
Malenia and Radahn literally died/ can die
Ranni , Ryker, and Miquella cannot be killed because they are godlike beings not constrained to mortal limits
Then what's the fucking point of picking empyreans to replace your eternal Goddess that doesn't rebel against you?
Lmao
Lol even
Just noticed this in my recent playthrough. Remembered this ghost at Church of Pilgrimage explaining Mausoleums but the "unwanted child" part seems really important. Who are these unwanted child(s)? Is it relevant to this church having a Radagon statue?
user..
Sellians were assassins, yes, but they seemed to target mainly other sorcerers. Besides being assassins and having connections to the Nox, they don't have any other links with the Black Knives.
>The Sellian sorcerers were assassins, and it is said that they often hunted their fellows.
Though it is interesting to note that besides ghosts, AFAIK only Sellians and the Black Knives had sorceries/items capable of rendering themselves invisible.
>the outer God of rot, which is an entity of the same scale of the Greater Will
lol Rot got btfo by a blind guy wielding a curvy butter knife
I think the omens Morgott and Mohg are these unwanted children
Maybe Marika wasn't meant to be that eternal
RADAHN LITERALLY DIED
>But when the stars align, we celebrate. A war festival honoring the last battle and death of General Radahn, the mightiest demigod of the Shattering, and bearer of a Great Rune
Yeah, that is weird. Maybe the dead demigods are the weak ones who got killed off first because they lacked Marika's favor?
Mausoleum bodies.
post the Japanese text for that line please
They both also use the torch+seal system (which Siofra uses as well). Though that's likely From being lazy.
Balls deep in Melania?
This reminds me of that guy talking to a woman on a dating app, who clarifies that her ex is indeed dead, dead to her.
it literally has a cutscene for it did you skip it?
Of the demigods, only I, Miquella, and Malenia could claim that title.
Each of us was chosen by our own Two Fingers, as a candidate to succeed Queen Marika, to become the new god of the coming age. Which is when I received Blaidd. In the form of a vassal tailored for an Empyrean.
Rest in piss horserino...
