It's a walking sim with a wacky narrator

The basic gist is that the narrator is a 'videogames = art" retard who makes a bad linear game, and you piss him off by wandering away from his script because his game sucks. The meta joke being that your wandering away and refusing to play along has already been accounted for and programmed with its own endings

Now as of ultra deluxe the meta joke is moreso about the nature of sequels and hd remasters so it's basically the first game with purposefully gimmicky twists and a meta ending where you completely destroy the narrator's original intent of the game by spewing out sequel after sequel

Is there a way to get back to the original memory zone ending? The one with the skip button stuff.

I'm fine with making fun of narrative tropes and whatnot but when the game goes out even further and starts talking about Twitter or development practices it stops being clever and just becomes a whiney bore about people whining about people whining.

It was basically him saying I don't get abstract art for 10 minutes, it is meant to be a set of simple stories that can be seen from different angles. Not everything is about a deep single message.

I really enjoyed it until it essentially became the exact same game with a coat of bucket paint. I get that that was the idea, it just wasn't that interesting to replay, even if it has been a few years.

You can tell the narrator is still on the other side even when the place is starting to break apart, but he has prolly descended into nothingness long ago

what particularilly annoyed me is that if you go down the route of the blue and red doors the game locks you out of them right before if you go with the bucket

The skip button and the sequel showroom were genuinely really good, but yea the rest of the bucket gags were kinda half and half personally.
