Yeah, the endgame is relatively barebones and it's next to impossible to find groups for ye olde hard mode content. Especially since the game sorely lacks stuff like build autism or other treadmills aside from cosmetics grind and leveling alt jobs for each role, for better or worse. If what you played didn't already clue you in, the single-player story and its mandatory instances and boss fights are the main content anyways, and there's no reason to rush to the end so you can "catch up". It's also worthwhile to do the lenghtier optional post-main campaign side quests in each expac, since they have more story and foreshadowing for later main plot stuff, and a bunch of fun dungeons / trials / raids. Aside from Coils they're also relatively easy and included in regular roulettes so finding random groups for them isn't difficult.

The Ronso were a thing before we even got Bangaa. Since expanding Ivalice was sometime around Tactics Advance iirc. So having the Hrothgar is basically Ronso lite. And like I said, you gotta something that can either be cute, or sexy in some way. If its got neither, it gets the thumbs down my man.
