Elden Ring is the best game I have ever played, despite its flaws.
I am your mom and yes I am
yeah, the game should have ended at leyndell when you first visit it. Everything after dragged on and ruined the game. 6/10 at best
I was disappointed but I still liked it and think it's easily From's best game.
Not even having ONE town and the huge step back from Sekiro's interactivity and movement and the entire world just being a horde of zombies waiting to attack you when you walk by was just pathetic, though
First 20 hours of the game is insanely amazing, then it starts to dawn on you when you begin to see copy/paste enemies. Leyndell picks it back up, but then it bottlenecks to the ending where you just want to be done with the game. I rushed through NG1 but I can't bring myself to go back to it for a while now.
>No ultrawide support even though they fucking put it in DS:1 remastered
Dogshit game
I wasn't though. But neither did I have sky high hype and expectations, so whatever.
i love this game and look forward to all the mods that will fix all the shitty issues like coop
ultrawide is a fucking meme, you deserve to be treated like trash
average 16:9 player
All they have to do is remove the pillarboxes
I've had the game glitch and display in ultrawide only for it to revert back
So it's there
They're just like "no"
it took either very long or not long at all for it to sink in that i hate this game, depending on how you look at it. very long because i waited weeks for them to fix the performance, and not long at all because i only played very little after each patch. eventually i realized most of my time was spent riding around killing enemies that basically can't fight back collecting random items i don't need and the few bosses i fought were just awful
Only a little and that's mostly because I overhyped myself
It's hard not to be after a masterpiece like Sekiro. ER is still a really good game though. It's just missing that focus and refinement of a true masterpiece.
Discord thread
Can't be disappointed in what you don't play.
I refunded it after finding out it's open world
Sounds like you need to play more games. Even Super Monkey Ball is a better and more holistic video game
No actually I was repeatedly amazed with each new area and the shear amount of stuff in this game.
Bought it before knowing it was open world?
You didn't preorder it, did you user?
Schizo post
What's wrong with preordering?
only dissapointed that the game ended, i would've liked 1 or 2 more main dungeons. hope theres DLC, they'd be dumb not to do it
I knew that anyway.
It's good but just extremely flawed. Especially on release with scaling not working, countless cheese methods, bugs, etc. Then it also repeats a lot
the open world is overall worse than the constrained paths in old from games, but they can literally never make a game in the old style again, with no jump/platforming. its too much of a basic "game feel" quality of life upgrade to go back on, even if their level design is better complimented by no jump. they should have never opened that can of worms.
Tied for my least favorite with DS3. The late game areas just fucking tanked it and the open world was empty as fuck with nothing good to discover. It’s all just shitty crafting materials.
Not at all, and the endless threads on Yea Forums also tell me that Yea Forums is in love with it
>but but muh nitpicking issues
Doesn't matter, tell me what's your favorite game and I'll find you issues, faggot
Why are those posts in the picture all saying the same thing word for word?
Nope, loved every second of it
beat off to how mad you fags get about it
every time you little bitches cry about it I get harder
LOL
Not one person will ever read any of that.
Disappointed in some design decisions but impressed with others.
>playing the sub-60 FPS stutterfest that is ER
thanks for beta testing, I'll play when it's fixed
why do they do this? if you hate the game so much just stop talking about it holy shit i'll never understand
you only have to read it once tho
It’s one of the very few hype games that actually delivered.
nah the opposite, I was expecting precious little and got a fuck ton of fun.
It's a masterpiece. I have 200 hours in it so far.
I actually enjoyed it more than I was expecting
It was better than Dark Souls 3, that was all I really wanted
Literally what the fuck are you on about, more like this is the first game in a long time I actually felt it was worth the asking price
It's one of my all time favourite games.
Suck a dick op.
It has the strongest aesthetics of any game From has ever made. The art direction is 10/10. It also is the only game to capture the same magic of exploration that was so present in DS1.
The combat definitely feels underbaked, however, it has some of the worst bosses to ever appear in a From game, and some of the late game areas have the most retarded gank squads since DS2.
High highs and low lows.
mental illness
i made it to the capital after about 120 hours, decided i needed to take a short break, and now i cant bring myself to boot it back up. its been 2 weeks and i cant do it.
You wish, kid.
Stay mindbroken.
Should have been trimmed up to be a bit tighter and shorter. You can tell Miyazaki really didn't want to carve any of the areas out for DLC, which is commendable, but the core game feels so bloated. Makes me wonder what the hell they actually did cut out to release as DLC later.
I played more games than 99% of this contrarian zoomie board ever will and Elden Ring is the best of them.
Unironically yes but for the sake of being an npc no
its all the same thing dawg, youre found out.
It started dragging after Liurnia. Arguably after Limgrave. Basically the more you play the shittier it gets.
My experience exactly lol
Right around Caria Manor I started to get very suspicious but was already feeling fatigued in general by that point.
Nope, played it twice and enjoyed it more the second time around because I did alot of extra shit I missed
I was not hyped at all and still liked it overall. I'd probably enjoy it a lot less if I wasn't a NEET with loads of free time. The thought of replaying it and gathering all the stuff again doesn't appeal to me too much though.
This game has some of the worst telegraphing I've ever seen. Every boss has wind-ups like this: They pull back their fist or sword; then their actual attack starts, but it's still slowed down 50%, and then in the middle of the actual attack it suddenly speeds up 200%. You can see it with this cat's spin attack or Malenia's roundhouse kick when it's slow as fuck but then gets sped up 500% literally in the middle of the attack when the leg is already flying. There are much better examples, but these are the webms I found online
It constantly shits on human instincts and game design 101 when it defies basic physics like that. This is why people dodge too fast or too late and get hit. The difficulty literally stems from the developer being an amateur and not understanding how animations work. They should study DMC, Dragon's Dogma, Monster Hunter, Cuphead, Bayonetta, Ninja STORM, fighting games or even fucking musou games before they make their next game, or just fucking stop making combat the nuts and bolts of their games already and do something that suits their talents more
It's good but nowhere near a 90% game. I doubt journos played past Leyndell when they reviewed the game
my criticism is that it should have been more focused and less meandering.
cut out all the repeats and make it leaner, and it would have met the hype.
good game still tho, worth the value if youre into the genre.
Based understander
Skill issue.
the fact you can describe a consistent pattern with the attack timings means you have no excuse for not learning it.
All downhill after stormveil. The capital part 1 was a fleeting reunion to that same feeling.
Faggot.
They have to watch more MMA fights to understand how humans work
like all the other soul games, it was fun the first time but tedious and boring the second time. like dark souls, people usually quit after andor londo. here it would be around Reya lucaria
what are jap games with the fairest attack animations for bosses?
They literally only have to tweak the main bosses after Mountaintops and it's one of their best games. It's one of the few games where everything is a blast until I reach the Malekith and Malenia boss room. They're vastly overtuned anime flip shit and don't feel designed for this game's player character. Malekith has the additional grievance of fighting the camera during the second phase and a bunch of his attacks clipping through the pillars because of their insane range, tracking and him being a spaz. Malenia's entire fight resolves around avoiding Waterfowl, which is an unfun pos move which just needs less tracking/homing. Elden Beast is a nigger. Everything else is super cool and I love it, weapon variety is good and the world is beautiful even if it's another From zombie wasteland.
I'm on my third play through of a pirated copy. Its amazing user. cope, seethe and dilate.
Pretty sure that's to fit the hitbox within a certain time frame (probably close to dodge i-frame length) but also have it telegraphed so the player can react to it.
The attack has to start slow and accelerate exponentially, which is what's happening here.
I'm just guessing here of course
pic related because you're a big pussy always getting beat up by women
I don't like these games that disregard gravity and physics where giant monsters leap twenty feet into the air and the hero carries a huge, unrealistic sword they shouldn't be able to wield. Just the fact that character has the blade of their sword digging into their shoulder is annoying to me and would take me out of it.
>They should study DMC, Dragon's Dogma, Monster Hunter, Cuphead, Bayonetta, Ninja STORM
They don't need to study anything, they know how to make good animations, look at ds3 bosses.
The delayed attacks in ER are a deliberate design choice.
I loved it i just wish it was harder, idk if i stumbled upon an op build or what but the only bosses that gave me trouble were malenia and elden beast. The dungeons with the things that run you over killed me a lot. Most bosses i beat first try. Beat makileth first try. Beat godfrey first try. Astrid actually gave me some trouble too
literally not at all
It's the only game I've played since it released and I'm still not bored
Yeah, same here, just got the platinum at 130 hrs. And haven't touched since, just waiting for the moon DLC
Friendly reminder to the anons of Yea Forums that it's very easy to get to heaven. Watch this video if you want to be 100% sure of going to heaven.
>The delayed attacks in ER are a deliberate design choice.
I didn't complain about the delayed attacks but about the terrible animations. You can delay attacks and still have normal-looking animations and movements that don't randomly speed up in the middle. Morgott has some good ones
