When is the Switch going to hit the brick wall of sales? It’s been controversy after controversy for Nintendo since this thing launched and nothing has effected it

What controversy? Is this one of those made up fake gamer rage things?
I dont know what controversies you mean, but the Switch is a cheap console with good games (and dont even accuse me of being a console babby I have PC, Switch and PS4). It was helped by COVID. Its a decent system which appeals to people.
And fuck you my stickers are cute as shit
Steam Deck is a much better hardware, and it was recently released.
>It was helped by COVID
This. Because you couldn't get a PS5 or XBOX for so long (still hard in places) everyone just bought a Switch. I'm honestly glad I couldn't get a PS5 because I ended up upgrading my PC instead and it was the best decision I ever did.
It's honestly quite incredible:
1st year the console was hacked
2nd year joycon drift problems
The covid
Steamdeck and whatnot
At the console presentation everybody thought it would fail and yet...
I forgot there is too emulation
>COVID
I know tons of moms at work that ended up buying a Switch for their kids for Christmas instead of a PS5/XSERIES because they couldn't get one.
I came here to ask this. Seriously. What controversy? I'm legitimately curious.
I suspect either the dumbest consoomer base or a Captain Marvel situation
U-uh well…the controllers are sometimes broken and…c-cardboard…selling ROMs…
JUST STOP BUYING IT YOU BIGOTS!
probably wont ever see a price drop until the next higher powered one comes out. the demand is still there, and you have people buying multiple for a single household, more "collector" types just buying them to horde because likely to be worth more than their $ in the future, etc.
When nobody buys the new one since it doesn't support 4k in [current year].
Unironically
Isn't it confirmed to support 4K through DLSS
never if anything it will sell more once the new pokemon comes out
can't wait for twink dragons
*siiiiip*
>It’s okay when Nintendo sells faulty Joy-Cons for $70 because I bought a Pro Controller anyway.
>It’s okay when Nintendo charges me $20 to use my own Internet because Microsoft and Sony do it too.
>It’s okay when Nintendo charges me $50 to rent N64 ROMs that don’t even work, Genesis ROMs, and DLC because you need to let people enjoy things.
>It’s okay when Nintendo discontinues Virtual Console in favor of a subscription service because it’s cheaper for me in the long run anyway.
>It’s okay when Nintendo drip-feeds games onto NSO because it gives me time to play the games that are already there.
>It’s okay when Nintendo sells cardboard for $80 because I didn’t buy it anyway.
>It’s okay when Nintendo sells 3 Super Mario ROMs with artificial scarcity for $60 because they’re new games to me.
>It’s okay when Nintendo sells a decade-old Legend of Zelda game with next to no changes for $60 because it’s a new game to me.
>It’s okay when Nintendo removed GamePad functionality from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild so that the Switch version isn’t inferior to the Wii U version because I didn’t care about the Wii U GamePad anyway.
>It’s okay when Nintendo spends more resources porting Wii U games to the Switch instead of making new games because they’re new games to me.
>It’s okay when Nintendo rereleases Wii U games less than 10 years/2 Gens after their original release because now those games are more accessible to everyone.
>It’s okay when Nintendo adds new content to Wii U ports not found in their original versions without offering it as DLC on the Wii U eShop either because no one bought a Wii U anyway.
>It’s okay when Nintendo ties purchases to a console instead of to an account because I’m buying them for the first time on my Switch anyway.
>It’s okay when Nintendo creates artificial scarcity of its products in order to generate sales because I can profit off of it.
>2022
>Shazam
SHAZAM IS RETARDED AND GAY LIKE YOU LMAO LOLOLOOLOLOL
>It’s been controversy after controversy
???
name literally one?
I imagine it is going to peak this year but it will barely decrease, then a nice price drop to maintain newcomers interested.
And people say that there's never Shazamposting towards Nintendo
Wii fell off a cliff out of nowhere somewhere around its 5th year so I doubt anyone will be able to predict.
More likely though Nintendo will launch a Switch 2 fairly soon and discontinue production of the Switch and that will be the end of it. Switch launched in March of 2017 and the 6 year mark that Nintendo usually has a successor going will be March of 2023 so fairly soon.
>the controversy is that a shazam discordtranny doesnt like nintendo
this is epic
Isn't Shazam suppose to be some sort of doomposter prophet announcing a future flop?? And there are some contradictions in your post.
>Wii fell off a cliff out of nowhere somewhere around its 5th year
Try 3rd year.
Switch's sales trajectory couldn't be more different than Wii's.
2021 (FY'22) will end up being over 2x more than Wii's FY'12
>sales begin to drop
>release this for $149.99 with Joy Con Controllers for the holidays
hello PS2/DS sales
5 years old and hasn't even hit 150 million units, despite combining handheld and homeconsole markets together. I'm pretty satisfied, it's another humility blow to Nintendo like the WiiU.
Ah, guess I remembered wrong.
I still stand by that other part though. Nintendo doesn't like continuing to produce its old console while a new one is already out so whenever that happens Switch 1 will finally die. It is selling well enough they could push it another year and release it March of 2024, but no way do they keep it around a second longer than that.
The Wii isn't comparable either, because over half of its sales were nongamers who bought it for wii sports. (Grandmas)
For the switch people are buying games at levels we havn't seen before. every frachise is having its highest selling alltime on it.
I don't care. I like Shazam, so I post him.
>no argument
No idea. I just use it however I see fit.
Joy-Con drift.
In what world is record profits a humble making blow?
>Wii fell off a cliff out of nowhere somewhere around its 5th year so I doubt anyone will be able to predict.
3rd year and it was because iwata was incompetent.
Anyway, as long as the well of games doesn't dry up too soo they can keep the momentum going for a long time. Not to mention it still hasn't had a price drop.
Imagine having to pay back every single Joycon. It would eat at the Switch sales and reverse 6 years of fortune
So not really a controversy.
people dont actually think this stupid shit would happen right
Not really, the joycons are sold at a loss but between the systems and games it wouldn't make a dent. Hell the money from MK8D alone would probably be enough to cover it and then some.
>It is selling well enough they could push it another year and release it March of 2024, but no way do they keep it around a second longer than that.
Of course they could, the sales of the switch are so high because of the games they release.
I don't agree that it is a system with good games. All games that exist on other consoles/PC run like shit on Switch despite being more expensive. What remains are only the exclusive games. And unfortunately Nintendo has been pretty lazy with a lot of these exclusives (I think it is a reflection of the previous generation that must have generated a series of cost cuts in the company).
My problems are $60 rehashed games, low effort games, almost non-existent account system compared to PlayStation and XBOX, no continuation of VC, lack of games added to NSO, and no achievements.
WTF is that shit?
>And unfortunately Nintendo has been pretty lazy with a lot of these exclusives
Elaborate.
>It’s okay when Nintendo sells 3 Super Mario ROMs with artificial scarcity for $60 because they’re new games to me.
Honey, Super Mario 3D All-Stars is still available at Best Buy.
>5 years old and hasn't even hit 150 million units
name one console
if i were gay and unlovable thats what my pc would look like.
He's going to say the ps2 and DS but they only hit 150 way after their 5th year.
Where'd you get the smt stickers?
I'm amazed their sales are still so high without a pricedrop and without hitting a yearly sales peak yet for hardware while also never doing a Greatest Hits equivalent for their first party games. The Switch is printing so much money for them it's insane.
It's one of the best babysitters you can buy with child friendly titles and portability for those long family trips to ensure the kids stay quiet
None of those things are a problem.
send it to nintendo and get a replacement for free

You're already both of those and too broke to have a PC, Pablo.
Honestly, if they do a Nintendo selects line and drop the price of the system I could see them dragging this out for another 5 years easy.
It also helps that people are beginning to understand that console power doesn't necessarily make a game better.
>>no argument
you literally dont have one.
>console power doesn't necessarily make a game better.
Yes, it does.
No, no it doesn't.
It makes a game look better but playing better is a different matter. It's low standards like yours that gave us AAA games.
Tell me that a game like God of War or Horizon FW is worse than some shit like Kirby or Pokemon from a graphical/immersion point of view. I dare you.
You're okay with being sold faulty products?
You're okay with having to pay to access your own Internet?
You're okay with buying the same games over and over again?
But I don't own a PS5
>it makes a game look better
He was agreeing with you that a game will graphically look better on a stronger console.
>Tell me that a game like God of War or Horizon FW is worse than some shit like Kirby or Pokemon from a graphical/immersion point of view. I dare you.
user, God of War 2018 is worse than the other god of war entries. Kratos doesn't even have half of the movement and combat options he once had and it's much more slower paced game with less to find.
Immersion, dipship. Immersion is the most important aspect of a video game and you cannot be immersed by something that looks as shit as a 260p 12fps switch game.
Haven't played HFW but I've heard it's just a rehash so I'd say kirbyband pokemon were generally better games.
>no continuation of VC
Why are people mad Nintendo isn't selling rooms anymore?
OP buy a switch. it's fun regardless of the braindead fanbase.
>Immersion is the most important aspect of a video game
user, immersion isn't necessary at all depending on the genre and its laughable that you could get immersed in something like Horizon given how broken and poorly animated it is.
>>It’s okay when Nintendo sells faulty Joy-Cons for $70 because I bought a Pro Controller anyway.
as opposed to DS4's or xbone controlelrs being the same or more?
