FFX is not even the best FF game, or even the best JRPG outside of FF, or even the best JRPG outside of present Square-Enix (certainly not before when it was Squaresoft), or even the best JRPG for the PS2. On top of that it hasn't aged very well, even more so vs. other FF.
While I agree, it was a quantum leap in console performance. IX was made with a razor thin budget (for FF games) while X was showered with money, and if you do remember accurately, it had a massive marketing campaign. Nobody could hide from FFX ads.

The more I think about it, VIII is the most depressing FF game because of everything that happened to Laguna and people around him, IX is bittersweet, and X is just terrible and the "love" story between Tidus and Yuna is really unnecessary and seems forced.

Guys I’m playing this for the first time and can’t beat Braska’s final Aeon. Anyone have any tips that isn’t just some cheese workaround (ie anima, magnus sisters, celestial weapons, etc)

I think it would be cool to see the 7 characters meet the 10 characters. It wouldn't even break any established canon so I wouldn't even consider it weird.
Plus we've get to see the 10 girls in modern graphics. I love the 7 girls but the 10 girls are the best.

My personal recommendation? Probably try using Anima or the Magus Sisters. Otherwise definitely make sure you got the celestial weapons.

FFX is odd because it's so easy to be powerful if you just never run from a fight and have Yuna/wakka/lulu/tidus/swordman leveled the same amount.

I assume you've at least finished everyone's path? Your gear looks good? Tidus has multiple finishers now? Using swordman's full break overdrive move? Doublecasting lulu? Yuna with high mana and lots of defensive moves? Multiple people with hasteaga? Yojimbo?

Dont you have to get stupidly lucky on nemesis with zanmato and understand deeply how the formula is calculated or some shit? I avoided using it on all optional bosses, but I recently read online it's not easy to do on nemesis.

Playing blind doesn't have much to do with it really, it's do you have gear that has proper defense and whatnot. It honestly sounds like you're just low level though or something if you're struggling. I think you can/should get Auron into tidus' sphere to get his agility and also nab hasteaga so both are able to use it.

Are you planning on doing the optional bosses? If so, you're going to need to have the entire grid done for everyone which isn't really hard assuming you follow the trick on YouTube. At this point you'll need to use guides to figure out stuff. Could always do the main game and before finishing it, make some saves, finish it on one then come back and do super bosses on the other. But yeah, go grind for a bit my friend.

No problemo, enjoy it! Like I said earlier, the game is still very fun and relaxing even if you follow a guide for the optional content. Doing captures (on emulator) is fun, doing blitz is kinda fun for wakkas stuff, optional bosses are great, monster arena is fun as hell, etc.

When I was playing it as a teenager, me and my friend were working on a save file together and after struggling like hell with the dark aeons, we ended up killing penance with Zanmato by giving Yojimbo every penny we had. I always felt like we robbed ourselves of the experience of fighting him legitimately.
Then I tried doing it on the remaster as an adult and it turns out that it's basically completely impossible unless you use one incredibly specific bullshit cheese setup with specially-made equipment

I would say it had the best overall Soundtrack although 8 still has the best OP hands down.
