If you've owned a PC for a while you'd know that when you want to replace your CPU you probably also need to get a new GPU and more RAM, but you need to replace all your RAM because now they use a new kind of RAM oh and also you need a new motherboard because modern CPUs and RAM won't work with your old motherboard.
The only thing you conserve when upgrading your PC is the case, storage, and PSU if you're lucky. PC gaming gives you better performance and graphics if you have the money, but consoles are way more bang for your buck.
