was pretty good overall
I don't play movie games, so I wouldn't know
Never played it and never will, eat shit Druckmann
Best TPS stealth action game ive played to this day. I often think TPS games can be boring, this one just oozes detail, great level design, greta upgrade system, and just constantly has intense encounters. It honestly feels amazing when everything falls into place with traps and setup.
Still havent beaten it in grounded though, gonna try it sometime this year.
Rather boring game. I do like these kinds of cinematic games and I liked the first game. But here, there was no kind of "cinematic" payoff. Rather than having a compelling narrative or having anything meaningful to say, the tone of the game seemed to just be "dark and gritty" for the sake of it, rather than for any narrative reason. It's like the author decided from the beginning that he wanted some dark and edgy "misery porn" and then tried to write a story around it.
Sorry, I don’t play garbage.
Top tier bait material tho.
Another thread Druckmann
Really?
I consider it the gold standard for accessibility options in videogames, and will be the standard I will use to measure all further accessibility options in games.
Im not even sure what this meme means anymore, now its pretty much anything "non-Nintendo" while Nintendo continues to make easy/shit/casual gameplay and has anime tier cutscenes.
I do not think the story is good and not just because they killed off le joelerino
You got all the meme talking points, including misery porn
gameplay still sucks and the story is still awful, just like TLJ, it will never be good no matter how much time has passed
They didn't include a multiplayer so I never played it
This game collects a lot of dust, doesn't it?
I think that the next Last of Us game should be a purely Beat em' up fighting game because the fighting scene between Abby and Ellie was over the top and cool.
Not that user - Why are they "meme talking points"? Is the misery porn criticism not legitimate? Isn't this the game where you murder a dog you previously played with, murder a pregnant woman, watch the previous MC / your surrogate father be brutally beaten to death, go on a months-long quest for revenge only to find people being enslaved or strung-up on poles to starve to death, etc.?
It's a game designed during the dark ages of the PS360 era and it shows.
it's just games that are generally unresponsive, have slow ass animations or complex sequences at the push of a button. also qte
No, you are a faggot digging for the same meme talking points that dont even hold up. Its merely your obscured perception of a game you never played.
So stuff like Xenoblade and Luigis Mansion 3?
Last of Us 2 feels super responsive and great to play, you can also turn off QTEs
So you just dont play the games you speak of?
It's any game that the script writer gets too much power and leaks in the gameplay, doing fake scripted shit to force the outcome he wants etc..
Those are becoming rare now, replaced by "big ass open world with nothing of value to find"
i'm not him, i don't even have a gaystation
That's not really an explanation
What a vapid copy paste post. You probably didn't actually play the game.
Why not? You sound pretty gay
Nor is yours while you pretend to be two people
because i don't play videogames, and even if i did i wouldn't pay for it.
I didn't explain anything and I'm legit not the guy who posted the "vapid copy paste post". I'm actually curious about why they're wrong.
I want you to name one character in video games that has gone through more than Ellie from The Last of Us has. You can't.
I disagree. You sound extremely upset because I did not like the game. I wonder why that causes you so much asshurt.
10/10
Why are they so mad?
I know the "paid shills" thing is just a meme but I'm starting to think there's something to it...
The only Nintendo console I ever owned was a Game Boy Advanced and played pretty much nothing but someYu Yu Hakusho game. I can't even recall its exact title.
this, fucking kike.
I enjoyed it a lot despite the bad parts.
no opinion just memes
youtube.com
Wait didn't they announce multiplayer was coming eventually or was that just a rumour?
radio silence for 2 years.
The term "misery porn" has been thrown around a bit when discussing this game, and I can kinda see why. The tone really feels like the focus of the game, as if the directors and artists took cue from Game of Thrones and how everyone in that show just fucking dies, and wanted to capitalize on that "grim-dark" trend.
It all feels very juvenile and uninspired.
They keep saying a whole team is working on a new Factions but there has been zero infotmation since Last of Us 2 launch. At this point I don't believe them.
I havnt played it. HA!
it's kinda funny how feel-good endings are getting less popular in video games.
Good game. You don't get a lot of games like this so I appreciated it. Didn't mind the story either.
>2 years
>still no sales figures past the first month
Explain this to me without coping
i won't be surprised if they scrapped it entirely, im not even mad or anything I'm just disappointed since the gameplay loop for the first one kept me playing my ps3 in 2014.
Too many cutscenes, too much walking and talking, and too much scavenging the environment looking for loot. The "ow the edge" narrative is super cringy as well.
During the PS3 era, Naughty Dog was making action games. Now they're making "Netflix original content" tier games.
I did hate the story at first. Then I replayed it this year. Some kind user pointed 2 things for me out (which I hope it would have been more obvious)
>scars win at the end 99% of all wolfs die
>the reason ellie helps abby is she thinks that will help her, then fights her when she realizes it didn't help
And even if we put the story away, this game still has
>incredible artstyle
>amazing graphics (forest right before seattle is peak graphics)
>great gunplay
>a good ost, not as memorable as the first
>very good level design
>top notch animations and attention to detail
>great character interactions
>great cutscenes with perfectly set cameras
My fault was playing this game on hard, when I didn't played a 3rd person shooter on console for years and got frustrated, + kinda speedrunning it and not taking my time.
>mad mad umad xD
No user, no one is angry. It's just that most of the hate this game gets is from people who haven't played it and are just regurgitating the same false narratives that they have been since Joel's death leaked and the whole internet melted down about how Neil is a socialist far left tranny advocator or something
Sea of Thieves blows the accessibility options out the water and doesn't dumb the game down by making it accessible.
Keep in mind that the first game could be considered to have the same dark tone. Except I think it was more subdued--didn't go over the top, used restraint--such that the narrative had more nuance than what's in the sequel. It's one thing if you're setting out to create some self indulgent over-the-top thing that's designed to be ridiculous rather than "deep," but if you then try to present it as some deep and nuanced work of art rather than the excessive mess that it is, then... well, then you get Last of Us 2, perhaps the most pretentious work of the decade.
forgot to add:
incredible game that deserves every award. ND took a gamble, that bit them their ass sales wise, but as a medium they managed to take it to another level. I don't remember any game that made me feel utter hate against a character, then sympathize with her so that at the end not wanting any of them to die. Or get annoyed / hate a character, just to realize that you actually like that guy. And joels death scene still made me little bit angry at my second playthrough.
abby looks off-putting and the sex scene is supposed to humanize her only to make her looks worse than ever.
i liked the combat but the story sucked and they did joel dirty in every way. playing as abby for 12 hours was fucking awful but the rat king fight was kino. i honestly care more about factions than the storyline at this point
>u say thing i dont like dat mean it false narrative
That is not how the real world works at all. You are acting out like an emotional child who refuses to believe that people have differing opinions.
I'm not really surprised though, because I already assumed that the majority demographic who would enjoy this game would be underage high schoolers and middle schoolers.
Has nothing to do with that. Calling the game edgy does not make any sense.
Does it include gyro aiming?
I don't think it's paid shills, however, I do think that the events of 2020 have mindbroken the remaining fans so much that they have the biggest persecution complex fandom. Imagine if I told a Mass Effect fan that I thought Mass Effect 3 was dissapointing. Most would agree, and if they disagreed they'd understand where I'd be coming from regarding the problems with it's plot. Now imagine telling a last of us 2 fan that you didn't like the game, and you'll get comments like the one you just got. Last of us fags are some of the most insecure retards and perceive liking or disliking the product as some kind of personal or political statement.
mass effect 3 is pretty good but i understand where you are coming from :D
Sure, I disagree but I'll take that over "game has vivid depictions of violence so it's edgy heheheheh"
I liked mass effect 3
A shitty sequel to an overhyped game.
Got a piss recently and the OG is free, and holy fuck what a slog. To call it a game is really stretching it. And the story’s not even anything ground breaking. Bitter guy forced to care about surrogate daughter grows a heart? Uh k, I’ve only seen that in movies and tv shows and books for like ever.
And on top of it all, the gameplay is shit. Like the gameplay Literally suffered to tell their mediocre story
>durrrrrrr the gun play sucks cuz it’s like realistic mannnnnnn
No.
Never played it, I don't think I've ever actually seen any footage of it either.
But I know you retards on Yea Forums are really obsessed over it which makes me think it's probably stupid.
I actually like it too for the most part, the endings are garbage and the crucible plotline is shit, but at least it gave us Javik.
Game was ok the porn was great and salamandraninja is carrying the series
I disagree. Now you have three ways to respond to that: you can grow up, ignore, and learn to accept that people aren't always going to agree with you, or you can try to formulate a counter-argument and try to persuade the other party to believe otherwise, or you can just throw your temper tantrum and shut out all opposing viewpoints like you're doing right now.
Great combat and gore but the story is so terrible and characters are so unlikeable that it’s put me off ever playing it again
memes: hilarious
stans trying to defend the game: hilariouser
sales: hilariousest
All the edge lord cringy stuff from TLOU2 is stuff Druckmann wanted in the first game. We know this from the making of the first game. We also know that Bruce Straley overrode him on a lot of those decisions. Straley retired after Uncharted 4 and that void gave Druckmann carte blanche to do whatever the fuck he wanted with TLOU2.
The persecution complex is warranted. We had to put up with your guys bullshit ever since the game was announced and now we still can't even have a thread like this without shitposting about how much you hate the game. Just fuck off and go make another elden ring thread and leave us alone, shit lol
>Last of Us 2, perhaps the most pretentious work of the decade.
Um, no, because Death Stranding exists.
>what is your honest opinion
>people give their honest opinion
>NOOOO NOT LIKE THAT
I don't get it. At the end it's a story that should take you to a path of revenge and leave a bitter taste of it. Plus that how it is going. TLOU1 was the same.
>suddenly shooting the guy who betrayed you
>suddenly driving through people, because that's a trap
>little kids turns into a zombie and his brother kills him and kills himself
>randomly killing people at the university
>finding people that are cannibals
>killing a doctor that could be easily knocked out
all of this shit happens. And in tlou2 the difference is that the tone changes to fit to the mood of the protags. Both protags lost very dearly to them and are now finding their new meaning in life, while trying to cope with revenge until find a new meaning in life.
For abby it's the kids
For ellie it's appreciating her life, love for joel and focusing on her wife and kid
I didn't like anything except
1. Astronaut flashback scene (the highlight of the game)
2. Gun battle against Tommy
3. Sound design
I loved Part 1 but couldn't help but be very disappointed by Part 2. And I don't even care about Joel's death, the Dyke Sandwich, "hey dude his weed stash" or Abby's physical design. Oh and kicking that black down the hole into the spores was funny too.
death stranding at the very least acknowledges that it's a video game, something that TLOU2 writers won't even bother to do.
>honest opinion
I only enjoyed 1 because of Joel. I found him interesting. Saw he was killed of in the leak, and now I'll never play the game. Killing James Bond to replace him with his murderer Bames Jond is just stupid
I wasn't interested in it then and I'm not interested in it now. TLoU didn't really need a sequel
You really want to believe that you're upsetting me for some reason. Weird. Well I can't be bothered to address the ad-hominem anymore. I'll just talk about the game.
The game is quite graphic and violent, but calling it edgy and using that as a criticism is shallow. The game doesn't celebrate violence because such a world where it takes place is reasonably assumed to be violent. Why wouldn't a post apocalyptic society be violent? Furthermore, the game places an equal emphasis on nature, beauty, love, and friendship as well. Violence if anything only stands out because it's a bit more realistic than some other games
This.
Had the same experience when I got my PS4 a few years ago and got gifted the GOTY edition.
Gameplay is trash and uninspired, the survival mechanics where you search for a fucking pair of scissors to craft a shiv in a weapon museum are pants on head retarded, and the story is way overhyped to what it actually is.
I liked the first one, enjoyed the multiplayer bit too.
I played TLOU2 through a PS Now 14 day trail, didn't get to finish it though, I think I was relatively close to the end game.
It played decently enough, story was alright, so that is that. It's on sale for 19,99 now on the ps store, not sure if to get it so that I can finish it, but is there anything to do at all after finishing the game? Is there new content whatsoever being added to the game? If so, I might still get it.
ok, essentially. I didn't really enjoy it much and was overall somewhat disappointed, but never to the point of wanting to quit or reeee about it. just, well, meh. it's passable and nothing more to me
>and doesn't dumb the game down by making it accessible
Sometimes it's unavoidable, but if your game requires ridiculous button mashing or holding down an awkward button for a long time (for example the analog buttons) then the problem is with the game to begin with.
>I can finish it, but is there anything to do at all after finishing the game?
you can do ng+, harder difficulties, trophy hunting or restard at chapter once you die playthrough.
That's a good point. I think Druckman is like Kojima in that his better works came out when he was more restrained, but now that he has no one to say "yes or no" to approve his stuff, he has an overinflated ego and has a tendency to lose some self-awareness. But in this case, where I think Death Stranding or MGS4 are salvageable, there's not really much to salvage in the case of TLOU2.
Not just video games. Pretty much every medium treats misery as quality and looks down on positivity and happiness.
The problem is that they mostly aren't "honest opinions."
I've decided to limit the purchases I make of things that include sjw friendly content until the internet culture reverts to normal
>until the internet culture reverts to normal
who's gonna tell him?
>opinions I don't agree with are dishonest
If someone dislikes the game despite never playing it because they got spoiled about Joel getting murdered, their opinion is still legitimate. Even if you'd consider it shit.
>protagonist of last game brutally murdered on screen
>Ellie murders a pregnant woman
>Character is a child bride to a cult
>Abby responses "good" when confronted with the fact that she's about to slit a pregnant woman's throat
>the whole fight scene where the half the guy's face is torn off
>revelation that the dog you killed earlier was a good boy
>Abby and Lev get taken as sex slaves and are crucified
Nah. Nothing edgy about that.
Oh, and I forgot to add, I knew what kind of ride I had signed up for when I saw that the word "bigot" was thrown around multiple times before the player barely even gets any control over the characters. So, adjust your expectations, understand the context under which this game was released, go into it knowing that the creators are deranged politifags and that sometimes leaks into their works, and as long as you're able to ignore that stuff there is still some enjoyment to be gained from this game. It was a very expensive title to create after all, with a lot of effort put into so many different aspects of it.
>opinions I don't agree with are dishonest
No lol that is not what I am saying. I'm saying that the game has attracted people who weren't even going to play it in the first place and are just falseflagging as heartbroken fans of the first game
I liked the stealth/combat segments for the most part, just like in the first one. the gore is nice and firearms sound and feel good. apart from that, there wasn't much that made the gameplay more exciting than in the first game. and seeing the characters and their weird relationships, it felt more like a teen drama.
the fact that there are no costumes or anything (interesting) to unlock is the biggest crime.
