recently starting pic related and I just did the final dungeon ARR where I fought gaius and evil thancred lala or something....where is the bad part? My only probably so far was the weird difficult spike during the last 3 duties, where you have to deal with like 3-5 mechanics at the same time.
Also my fishing is currently 76 im having fun with the boat event stuff. And I still dont get why people like the cat lady, she barely at screen time at all.
t. started in fortress town. Dragoon. + leveling my warrior and scholar healer.
>My only probably so far was the weird difficult spike during the last 3 duties is this bait?
Brandon Ramirez
Compared to anything else from ARR, the reworked caestrum and ultima weapon is noticeably more challenging than, say, fucking Garuda
Aiden Cruz
ARR is pretty decent as MMO goes, it's just that the rest is so much better narrative wise.
Noah Jenkins
cape westwind, castrum and prae were reworked in the last patch, castrum and prae are now 4man instances, ultima weapon has its own 4man battle, westwind and lahabrea are solo duties (westwind is apparently fun now) while not super hard, they are indeed way more interesting to play now, they have introduced new "standard" mechanics you see in modern trials/raids like stacking etc, so from a sprout standpoint they're discovering new shit
the bad parts have been heavily reworked or stripped of a lot of bloat but I imagine the built-up to titan is still bad also the next questlines are pretty boring desu, up until the back end of the content released between ARR and heavensward, around patch 2.4 when you're introduced to shiva
Nathan Lopez
>And I still dont get why people like the cat lady She's a cat lady
Brayden Cox
The bad part is how long it takes to get through it. Especially Post-ARR might be a slog. Also they reworked the last 3 duties 3 weeks ago actually.
Jaxon Flores
yshtola doesnt get any real character development, and what little she does, its not much, but i think u might understand more near the end of 2.55 patch.
William Phillips
>fishing is currently 76 >just finished prae
what happens when unstoppable BASED hits an unbreakable REDPILL?
Jason Myers
people that want to poopsock raids are annoyed at having to do all the story content. people that want a story based FF are annoyed at the typical mmo grind and filler quests
the filler got a hell of a lot better in the first expansion. but to answer your question about when the bad part is, the stretch between exactly where you are and like the final 5 quests before heavensward is largely considered to be the worst part of the storyline
Cooper Anderson
>My only probably so far was the weird difficult spike during the last 3 duties, where you have to deal with like 3-5 mechanics at the same time.
I FUCKING HATE YOUUUU I FUCKING HATE YOU SO FUCKING MUCH.
YOU ARE THE REASON WHY 90% OF FUCKING DUTIES ARE BABY TIERS. HOLY FUCKING SHIT I HATE YOU SOOO FUCKING MUCH.
Sebastian Mitchell
Yes you fucking retard >76 fishing before finishing ARR >Bashing everyone's catwaifu before she's had more than one good cutscene
Sebastian Anderson
Found the guy who doesn't play. Reworked Prae/Castrum/Ultima are a notable spike in difficulty.
the reworks are still completely braindead, though, just like all story mode content in this game.
Ryder Gomez
The bad part is when you realize that every plotline they attempt to build up for will inevitably be resolved in a rushed, anticlimactic manner and how every dungeon is the same reskinned hallway with the exact same structure. Everything in the game is so painfully formulaic and the game primarily thrives on pandering to nostalgia while any original ideas are squandered because of poor execution or straight up shit writing.
Chase Brown
they got revamped and turned into 4-man fights fights so they don't get steamrolled in 30 seconds any more
Jason Butler
sorry, but y'shtola is overhyped especially if a new player starts in uldah or gridn
Chase Evans
Not OP's fault the Scions are clumsily introduced in ARR. You basically have to be a 1.0 vet to care about anyone but Alphinaud at that point.
ARR's plot is pretty fucking horrible, it's literally primal of the week followed by sand faggot drama when you don't care about any of them including the scions
the worst part is they surgically removed every other scion's personality over the course of the story so they're all y'shtola tier cardboard cutouts in EW
Ul'dah boi through and through and you are right, Y'shtola was just there. Never understood the hype at first, but thankfully the expansions fixed her issues outside of the whole thing of her dying in every expansion trope. I now want to mating press her alongside Krile.

Juan Fantasia...I kneel...
Elijah Rodriguez
you can 1-90 fishing in a few days with ocean fishing
Josiah Cox
The really bad part of ARR is post-ARR, the content between the end of ARR and Heavensward. If you can get through that slog without hating it then you'll think the rest of FFXIV is the best game ever created.
Connor Ross
>76 fishing before finishing ARR I started recently too, and while I'm not done with ARR, I rolled my character on a preferred server, and it's braindead easy to get crafting levels when all your XP gains are doubled, especially if you turn in starred Grand Company deliverables.
Jordan Mitchell
I think Heavensward was
Isaac Barnes
ARR was so damn monotonous and boring until 46-50, none of my friends could make it even halfway through the scenario. I forced myself to keep going just because the story became mildly intriguing. And the story did get legitimately good eventually, but the "gameplay" just sucks donkey balls all the way through
Isaac Cooper
THIS. You are a retard if you think another wise. For fuck sake starting as a lancer and watching Yda and paplmy fucking leave/die making me the only one having a relationship toward Grid is sad
Isaiah Morales
I've played up through the Titan fight, and going on a gorillion fetch quests just to hold a feast really started to try my patience.
Jacob Green
>bait You know how easy its to level fishing by doing the fishing event ?
Justin Morgan
I died at Westwind. It has 4 phases now, and the last phase seems to be a DPS check. Or then I just did it incorrectly.. but essentially the last phase he chains you while the ground is burning, and you have to DPS him down before you die yourself.
Ethan Wilson
first time I dis that part it was pretty annoying, but I liked the end of it being you get to eat the food you caught in a celebration. now the wineport bit is my favorite part of ARR whenever I run an alt.
Brandon Garcia
XIV threads are comfy but i usually leave as soon as anons start talking about plot t. free trial sprout
Lincoln Edwards
that actually sounds pretty cool, I might have to try it in NG+ or something.
Parker Sanders
its good that you leave, people always post EW story. I need to leave too when they do that and I'm in EW.
Ayden Jackson
I enjoyed it for what it's meant to be. Comfy world building. also RIP to that one lala guard with the black hair at the Waking sands.
The plot is that the Squeenix suits wanted to shill a popular game that they published, and Yoko Taro didn't have anything better to do.
Aaron Lopez
Nah, the game is boring. It does a lot right in terms of mmo-stuff (housing, good cosmetics, no retarded power grind) and the story / music / voice acting is great, but the moment-to-moment gameplay (aka combat) is boring. Professions are all exactly the same, idk why people suck them off so much.
Playing a WVR vs. a CUL is exactly the same with just changes in the action key name / icons.
FF14 is a better MMO, but WoW is a better "game" if you're looking for pure gameplay.
Isaiah Scott

>Have to deal with that faggot midge again and his wine (even though he was the only tolerable one of the Company of Heroes) for the Ivalice raid quests I never wanted to see or hear a mentioning of those fags ever again, and a few hundred hours later I still had to. I was steaming.
James Martinez
>Suits wanted to shill some 5 year old game >Not knowing that Taro actually has put important canon lore into the raid
Dylan Thomas
Someone needs to get him funding for another big project. I played the first Voice of Cards game, and I found it to be pretty underwhelming, especially in the gameplay department.
Josiah Russell
how doesn't that cunt have funding 2B is in fucking EVERY single game now
Aiden Evans
kill yourself mmobrained shill
Nolan King
Is that the one that is just 100% sexual innuendo and dick jokes? It was actually kind of funny in context even if it's just penis jokes.
Jayden Price
Yes, I love silly quests like that one and innuendos/puns are my weakness.
Aiden Phillips
He has the backers at this point, he just chooses to do the smaller projects and add lore to Nier through random side things instead of more AAA sequels. The XIV raids weren't completely out of character for the way he does lore building, making fans seek out other media, but it was probably the biggest troll he has done. Hell, I wouldn't doubt if he has some headcanon for why there are Nier outfits in PUBG.
Leo King
PUBG being canon to the Drakengard universe would be interesting. Wasn't there that sci-fi survival horror "not dead space" game coming out that is supposed to be in the PUBG universe?
Connor Long
so drakengard >your sister is an avatar for the goddess >wants to incest you >kills herself because impure >apocalypse happens in one of 5 flavors >giant babies rain from the sky >giant mother eldritch goddess >get teleported to tokyo >death of goddess and dragon in real world makes magic real and causes a plague that turns people into salt nier: >plague of salt causes people to split their souls from their bodies >make androids to protect them and cure them >replacement bodies gain sentience and souls go insane >replacement bodies destroy the cure for salt plague and doom humanity to extinction nier automata >aliens come to earth and create robots, aliens go extinct >robots attempt to evolve attempt to understand philosophy >yorha is made from robots >designed to die and be rebuilt in a meaningless cycle >a giant salt pillar is created by robots >red girl robot dies or something >yorha androids decide to keep living ambiguously in defiance of nihilism ffxiv raid >a drakengard seed of destruction pulls the machine android war to the first >the apocalypse is set to happen along drakengard lines while all the iconography and bosses are from nier. >androids pull the seed of destruction out of the first along with themselves.
