I played ending A and I was thoroughly unimpressed.
I decided to drop it until I play every other games from Taro first before giving it another chance.
Boy is the combat boring, even the shmup parts.

I played it up to the rebellion camp, which is like 30 mins in. Then I got bored/annoyed. Really bothered me the forced perspective. If I were to rate it, I'd rate it meh. The story alone doesn't make it a masterpiece

I bought Nier ver. Whatever and man does it suck. The marketing makes you think they completely overhauled the game but it still plays like a glorified low budget PS2 game. How much better is Automata? I remember pirating it on PC at launch but dropped it because the controls made it unplayable, couldn’t dodge properly compared to the PS4 demo.

the combat could have been fixed by adding a cooldown to the dodge and making it so you cant shoot and attack at the same time
also make the different combos deal more damage so you have a reason to not just spam regular attacks

The only problem I had was that the difficulty selections were basically "coast through without worrying about anything" and "everything oneshots you"
I opted for the latter, that part where a damaged A2 limps through half the world map was hell

I played the game completely blind on normal and I never once was even remotely close to dying.

Most kids will not play Automata, most kids will not play Eldern Ring, Most kids will not play the latest CoD or Valorant or whatever, simply because they do not own the platform
The only kids that have access to consoles are either from middle class or richer, or they have a relative who is older and into gaming, giving them handmydowns or buying new consoles and games for them

The hardest difficulty in Automata is bad though

The hardest difficulty just makes enemies more tanky than they already are.
Easy mode is the best difficulty since it results in you wasting less time on the monotonous combat

the first game is even worse yet gets praised as the better game

People can't even judge the game on its own merit since it has none.
