In an ideal world he would do the soundtrack for DMC6, and that game would have a bigger budget with Dante, Nero, and Vergil included in the base game, and ladies night being the DLC for once.
If they bring back V, he should play like Astral Chain. I didn't much care for his playstyle in DMC5. Too few moves and too disconnected from the actual fight imo. Didn't feel satisfying to kill demons like it does with the other characters.
V just isn't fun to play as, controlling familiars felt unresponsive while having to mash buttons and he is way too slow for this type of genre compared to Dante, Nero and Vergil.
There was nothing wrong with how V controlled, he just had too small of a moveset which made it feel like you were using the same attacks over and over.

In the sense that Dante doesn't suddenly get an entirely unique second half of the game? yes.
However, people overstate how much of that repeated second half comes from budget cuts rather than just a poor decision.

The fact that Dante's devil arms were supposed to come from bosses that were cut is a shame. I do wonder what the the second half was planned to be. Would be pretty cool if Capcom went back and finally finished DMC4 the way it was intended now that DMC5 was a success.

That has never been stated by any developer in any interview or artbook and is purely conjecture.
In terms of story, DMC4 isn't unfinished. We have the "finished" DMC4 story in the form of Deadly Fortune and the only things different from the game is that we get more internal monologues from the characters, get a bit more of a peek into what Dante was doing offscreen, Dante gets the Devil Arms prior to fighting the bosses and uses it on them instead of just to destroy the Hellgates, gameplay related mcguffins like the Sephirot Fruit are removed and Lady gets a small segment detailing how she ran across The Order.
Lady's segment is explicitly something that was thought up after the main narrative though as per Bingo's word in DMC3142 where he states that he never even originally wrote Lady and Trish to appear outside of Dante's prologue cutscene.

V is also literally the most braindead mode action game experience I've ever seen. You can literally beat every boss and fight by standing still spamming X+Y simulatenously while not even holding the controller properly. And who the fuck was the retard who made it so you can't switch devil breakers mid game? What genius made up a system that has all this variety then they force you to DESTROY one of the weapons to switch between them?
