what's her name, user?

I'm surprised people draw the line at her and not at the areas before her.

kek pleb

compared to most of the bullshit you have to deal with up to that point, she is a very reasonable fight, she's just a sekiro boss in a dark souls game.
the shit monster on the 2 inch ledge on the way down is way more frustrating

her blade flurry is retarded tho, completely ruins a potentially great fight

Then you truly beat the game.

She remains undefeated.

I don't even think potentially, Waterfowl is overtuned and ruins a fight that'd otherwise be among the best in the game. If it was reliably escapable or didn't deal a fuckton of damage it would be perfectly fine

Nigga, just use cheat engine like everyone else if you can't do it. Stop trying to fulfill 'pride' so you can brag to strangers on the internet that don't care and get the fight over with.

uninstall wizard too OP

Imagine still making Elden Ring threads in the month of April?

So fat you look and see food?

It's garbage and objectively unfair (certainly on your forst encounters) but let's be fair, it's a very, very optional final bonus boss

>Burnt out and just want to finish game
>See waterfowl dance once
>Immediately summon +10 mimic

What part of her (besides waterfowl dance) is unfair more than the average videogame boss?

pretty much, it just killed my interest in trying to beat it, maybe ill go back and use mimc tear or something but 1v1 it just feels ridiculous to learn

which can 100% be blocked

Eh, after some attempts you end up steamrolling phase 1 so hard that Waterfowl either happens (and you likely die or spend two flasks) or you beat her before she gets it off. It feels like RNG at a point but you can definitely beat her without "solving" Waterfowl

As far as I'm aware, every other move besides NIHIL is avoidable without any equipment
Yes I've seen the webm but like every other time that's posted - even the creator said it's nearly frame perfect and probably unintended

>feels ridiculous to learn
This is your average ER tranny, everyone. "I don't want to learn anything. I want to seat back, relax and mash buttons. And just randomly beat bosses by pure brute-forcing in 10 attempts max (more means bad boss)"
Every single Malenia thread.

you just end up having to play the fight in kind of a gay way to be consistently at a range where you can run from waterfowl. or you just gamble and try to burn her down fast enough that the healing she gets from it doesn't matter.
that is why i have no shame doing that fight with meme katanas.

lol, my dude, i spent many HOURS trying to beat godskin duo without summons or ashes
just admit there's a lot of bullshit fights in this game

I wouldn't have minded if the move had a steep learning curve at all. I beat Malenia on my 45th attempt (the highest amount of tries I've had against a From-boss) using a Giant-Crusher +25, no summons/ashes/magic/bloodhound step/whatever. By that point, I had avoided each of her moves aside from Waterfowl multiple times, and knew which way I had to run/roll to do so. I never got out of Waterfowl without taking damage, and I never felt like I was getting closer either.

>or you just gamble and try to burn her down fast enough that the healing she gets from it doesn't matter
Way more fun for me, she doesn't handle pressure well at all during phase one and a lot of the time you can kill her without her even getting it off

Just use a shield bro

Attached: EldenRing.jpg (978x360, 39.87K)

Doesn't fit my character sorry lad

so i'm really late to this, what exactly is the way to dodge waterfowl without bloodhound or light load or freeze pots or a shield or whatever?
avoid the first flurry with distance or a perfect roll, then roll into the second so the third goes around you?
on my runs i did enough damage that i could just fuck off at 60-70%, let her do it and get chipped by the third flurry, then go to phase 2

She still heals herself if you block right?

>avoid the first flurry with distance or a perfect roll, then roll into the second so the third goes around you?
Sounds correct, I believe you can roll the second and the third will just miss you. Some people claimed unlocking helped but my game wouldn't let me unlock once she popped into the air so I couldn't tell you.

The thought of learning even more weird attack animations so I can roll and stab my way to victory yet again just isn't all that appealing anymore. It's been over a decade of this.

the healing isn't too bad if you don't facetank all 3 attacks. i think she's pretty open to be punished after the 3rd as well but i can't do it consistently yet.

You beat the game

Waterfowl would be fine if it could be dodged with I-frames, which you currently cant

Oh, you actually just can't? Makes sense why it felt like I wasn't improving then, kek. Yeah, if so I totally agree with that

You have to break lock on, run around in a circle so her AI targets the wrong direction and then roll when she comes down to avoid the first flurry. She'll do her second and third flurries, just time the roll on both of them.

can you do it with the flask that gives extra i-frames?

>Played through the game once, okay but not as good as any of the prior games including DS2
>Tried to 100% the game
>nopefuckthisshit.gif

How do you break lock-on once she starts the move? Do you have to break it before she actually goes into the air?

Why are you spreading misinformation little user? Are you mad because you happen to be bad? Malenia's waterfowl's dance can definitely be dodged consistently by rolling, just bait her into going another direction if she's very close, then dodge outwards, dodge outwards again for the second wave, and then dodge inward for the last.

Kinda like what this autismo did: files.catbox.moe/0dqqh8.mp4
He fucked it up and still got hit a little bit, but it's the basic idea behind how you avoid it when she does it right in your face.

This. Why do fans of the game constantly unironically defend the open world meme with "it's fun to explore" when actually exploring it in depth is so fucking tedious?

Yeah, I try pressing the stick in that situation and it just doesn't unlock. I guess I gotta be more under her becase I tend to be further back.

Black knife Tiche can and will constantly attack her allowing you lots of strong hits on her and her black knife can easily burn Malenia's HP if she doesn't go after her. By this point in the game you have easy access to bleed and frost weapons and spells and they easily stagger Malenia. Frost even lowers her resistances for more damage.
For her second phase you can use a pulley crossbow with bleed bolts to take a chunk of her HP off during her recovery from the scarlet aeonia nuke. If Tiche is still alive that's even more damage added up so you may only need to dodge a few of her moves and land some heavy attacks and she's done for. If she goes for a second aeonia nuke and you dodge it, it's way easier to end the fight there.
Flames of the redmanes staggers her with two to three casts, watch out for her super armor moves though, they ignore the stagger build up. Glntstone phalanx art has range and high stagger to help you. Seppuku on a naginata with high bleed can make short work of her with a greatshield guard poke set up. The same goes for any bleed weapon with mimic tear, really. She cannot properly dodge Adula's moonblade, that's free damage and a frost debuff.

>all the mimic does is heal her
>"okay, I'll try blocking her"
>all blocking does is heal her
You know I'm starting to think the whole game is just badly designed shit, From are out of ideas.

Do what said and make use of Tiche. Tiche deletes her health while also leaving a damage over time. She's outclasses the mimic pretty easily.

Miquella, Blade of Malenia

Imagine losing to a fucking woman and seething about her.

Don't blame you.

Attached: FQ_hZG9WUAAg5RE.jpg (3250x2500, 566.64K)

Come on user if you really wanna beat her then get respect into Arcane dex and use rivers of blood that should destroy her
and if you're not too shy to use summons then use mimic tear +10 it should melt her. This fight can be learned, but because the healing you have to master it.
Even her waterflow can be dodged, but if you're having trouble with that then get bloodhound step.

Fair.
Once you can kill her, the remainder of the games too trivial.

nah, it's better to just uninstall at that point
if he's at haligtree its not like he's missing out on anything good

Normal people don't want to waste time memorizing a choreographed dance routine through trial and error.
There's nothing wrong with getting killed because I made a mistake and fucked up, but it gets real old real fast getting killed because the boss pulled out a move that can't be organically avoided and the only defense has 500ms of input delay.

Malenia, Blade of Miquella!

Attached: ER malenia and miquella 7.jpg (686x1116, 305.01K)

Father Owl and Nameless King are even more optional, and they don't require exploit-tier shit you need to read in a guide, or you-didn't-beat-her tier shit like pussying out with a shield or bloodhound step. Olfnir talks about Malenia every 2 fucking seconds reminding you to find the albinauric woman, she's about as optional as Radahn with how clearly you're meant to find her.

>blocking
This heals her and is inelegant. This is like using a bomb in a shmup. You didn't solve the move, you just skipped it, and you didn't beat her.

The loathsome weeaboo

Blocking it with a Greatsword feels great, you should try it.

Actually wrong, the first waterfowl hard tracks you. You cannot dodge it point blank. The second and third ones are perfectly dodgeable though.
