She's one of the rival trainers in Swoosh. Initially comes off as cold and aloof but she's actually a big sweetheart. She's not the main character of the game like Lillie was, but you still meet her at various points and even helps you out in getting one of the gym badges since Team Yell are entirely dedicated to fucking over anyone who isn't her.

Comes from a run-down Town that's maybe one step above a ghetto. But Marnie shows some real talent and the gym challenge is taken very seriously in Galar (seriously the gyms are the only decent part of that game). So much so that the townsfolk follow her around not only cheering but actively sabotaging every other trainer they encounter to make sure Marnie wins. Marnie herself is very socially awkward and is kind of backed into a corner of being a good representative of her run down town. To the point where she has to force herself to smile even though she's miserable. But towards the end of the game she's able to come out her shell because she was influenced by you beating up her animals and taking her money. Still Marnie is cool. Better than Hop at least. Great battle theme.
