Blizzardd insistence on suggesting we cannot swap between DPS/tank/healer in a given game because you need 2-2-1 it's better for the community if you just are forced to play ,2-2-1, nah. fuck that, fuck blizzard. nobody wanted to play a MOBA FPS, it was fine on launch because it was like TF2 and had charm. every single update they did that majorly changed the core concept of its gameplay kept forcing it deeper down the MOBAshooter idea and more and more people isolated themselves into their one precious role and main hero making it just as shitty and unfun to play as MOBAs in solo q.

Not having role lock was literally fucking terrible. You've never played in a rank where team composition mattered so you have no idea how shitty it was to queue into 5 egomanic DPS players and lose to worse players because no one could swallow their pride and just play a fucking tank.

It was a nightmare, and no one who played the game even remotely well prefers Overwatch w/o role queue.

Except they aren't, they massively nerfed and only belong to tanks now. DPS no longer stun. Also, stuns didn't kill the game, shields did. And guess what, Reinhardt is the only one with group shielding now, only remaining shields are weaker personal type shields with Zarya

actually I exclusively played ranked and it was much better, with more open communication and less petty blame shifting going on by your entire teammates before role lock.
I've played nearly every ranked season before role lock and dropped the game a few seasons after because the tone shift from people working together to instalocking their OTP in the role they were forced to play and leaving group chat immediately.

I really haven't paid attention to this garbage outside of the reveal. Isn't this basically just a content patch they are trying to charge full price for? Other than the 6th jogger character they are apparently adding, are they adding any other heroes? I'd want an entirely new cast, or at least a bunch of new ones to complement the old ones they lazily port over.

Mei was originally the Canadian Chinese stereotype rep, during beta all the flags datamined on the world map background matched the heroes, except China's wasn't there and Canada was present. There's no reason a Chinese hero would be tundra themed to a memeworthy degree and all about climatology.

Clearly Blizzard changed her to China later on to pander to them at the same time they started pandering to chinks all over all their games. Then they later swapping the clearly American hero Sojourn (named after American woman Sojourner Truth) into a Canadian because people were pointing out the fact that even after 3 years Canada was still flagged in the hero map and without a character

Role Queue made the game objectively better, and stabilized the rank ladder. It was so much better for anyone who "exclusively plays ranked" and actually wanted to climb

Hot swapping between roles and characters in order to adapt and counter the opposing team comp is fun. not everybody is good at the same heroes, and hot swapping allowed team flexibility, and gave a reason for people to seek constructive gameplay with random people over voice chat.
role queue objectively made solo queuing worse , validated OTP one picking their hero and never swapping even if they're countered by the entire opposing team, and removed multiple reasons why one might join and participate in team chat.
you are in the minority of OW players. your game experience is one 90% of the player base doesn't get to have, and that's why it makes it invalidated.

the biggest problem I had with it when I played it years ago was that half the characters have auto aim bullshit

The game's going to be relatively big I'd say. There just isn't another decent hero shooter around that fills the same niche. And no it ain't valorant because that game is just CSshit with a fresh coat of paint. I'd still probably play OW1 but the game's no fun when it's not being updated. But now everyone's coming back and there are going to be regular updates so it's probably going to be my go-to FPS for the next year or so.
