Why do people consider this to be one of the best again?
Yakuza 4
because it's multi protag but not Yakuza 5. Yakuza 5 insists upon itself
akiyama
first game for EOPs that has multiple fighting styles
Because it is.
Hate that we're at the stage now where newbies pick something up, are ignorant to how impressive it was at release, then nitpick and pan it.
>i want you to prove to me you deserve this loan
>be a whore at my club
youtube.com
cuz Akiyama carried the game
>multiple playable characters, all of them solid
>a character arc for series favorite Majima
>introduction of multiple playable styles
>great music
>essentially caps the plot from the previous games well enough you don't even need 5 and 6
Akiyama story wise is like Barney from himym, "fan" favorite. His gameplay is solid as fuck though
I don't understand what you mean. It can't be the best game if it was only impressive at release, and every person who picks it up afterwards has to basically pretend that it's good. That's more an insult to your favorite games than you think it is.
Yakuza 0/K1/K2 is the perfect trilogy
I forgot what I responded to.
TOT
Havent played the games past 4 yet
I agree that Akiyama looks cool but he constantly fucks up and trusts the wrong persons? Also he's a huge simp and the "good guy" moneylender thing is dumb even for Yakuza
Saejima is a big retard but endearing, it's funny how he does his revelations with a wood sculpture, but his fighting style is underwhelming
Now Tanimura is a great character all around
Because it is? The first three were worse, 5 was a step back in every way, only 0 is arguably better, K1 and K2 were half-assed, and 6 and 7 were disasters.
Musical kino coming through
youtube.com
>but his fighting style is underwhelming
Despite that he has the best heat action in the series.
youtu.be
MAKE WAY FOR THE STRONGEST RYU GA GOTOKU PROTAG PERIOD!
KAMUROCHO. RAIN. KINO
oh hell yea, Four Face
Because it turned me onto pudgy girls.
This is peak cringe
haruka is hot
Yakuza 3 is the best Yakuza game.
Pic related you before posting that garbage post above
Because it is. 3 has some great story moments but very weak combat and some real gay substories. Also nearly the entire first half is a slow burn open where you're doing shit for an orphanage.
4 opens very strong, keeps kiryu from you which builds some intrigue, has great combat, multiple great characters, and there's always something going on that makes sense.
5 is an escalation of 4 and as such opens strong but each next plot twist and turn makes less sense than the one prior. Combat is good but the minigames overstay their welcome and the overarching plot is just retarded
Going from Blockuza 3 to 4 is like eating borgar to eating a steak (I'm not American)
The story in 3 is the best one, but 4 has the best gameplay
Sex with Haruka
They don't. Its bottom tier.
pc-shitter starter pack from 3 years ago
>No one uses the 4 model for Haruka
>and some real gay substories.
Objectively some of the best substories bar the pool one or golf one which you can still easily weasel your way through. There was never a substory as good as murder in cafe Alps or the mama and Date ones ever again.
K2 is unironically an awful game. Imagine making a game worse than a fucking ps2 version
Still not sure which Scattered Moment I love more, they are fire
The true kino trilogy is 1, 2, 0
Because Akiyama.
RUBBER
BULLETS
.
akiyamas feels great to play but his side stories suck and his part of the story is really lame, I like the yakuza stuff but the shit involving this girl...
AKIYAMA SUCKS! Have a cell phone!
Do you think he harassed Daigo for 1,5 years they all lived in his basement
Why does Kiryu look the same in 6 and K2?
3 more days till announcement! of a real announcement somewhere in fall as usual
I suppose because both games he was really really fucking depressed but I hated it as well. it wasn't as bad in 2
>Tfw still no announcements
my favorite part of 4 was cheezing the final bosses with each character
basd
I judge a Yakuza game on the amount of side content it has therefore 5 > 4 > 0 > 3 > 2 > 6 > K 2 > 1 > K1.
Forgot to include 7.
5 > 4 > 7 > 0 > 3 > 2 > 6 > K 2 > 1 > K1.
Akiyama battle themes are absolute bangers.

I think Yakuza 5 was the best one. Shinada had a cool character arc that tied up most, if not all of his loose ends.
4 is great, I think it's on par with 0
Interesting story for all the characters, ends up tying things together pretty neatly in a bow at the end, each play style is great and interesting, I think expanding the city to have a lower level and higher level of traversal adds enough to make the world feel even more fleshed out feeling, and the music is fantastic.
So it only took six years to cull all the newfags with Yakuza burnout? Are these threads going back to pre 0 quality?
>caring about Yakuza post Nagoshi, especially after the gameplay dumpster that was Like a Dragon and Lost Judgement
>calling other people newfags
the series might as well be dead but it had a much longer run of good games than most series get.
How are you gauging side content. Doesn't Y0 have like 100 substories? Feels like it has more minigames than 4 and 3 too but can't say for sure. Haven't played 5 yet
What's wrong with Lost Judgements gameplay. I really liked Judgment but Lost looked like a straight improvement
I've been playing Yakuza games since 2005 and I loved 7. Didn't care for Lost Judgment though, Judgment was better.
5 has the most extensive minigames with relatively fleshed out major ones for each character and a major subquestline that goes with each one. 0 only has 2 major ones, really only 1 with cabaret club since real estate is just a bunch of simple menus and grinding for money. it's got fewer arcade games as well.
Do people consider it to be one of the best?
It's probably the weakest story in the series (which is saying something)
2 (Not K2), 4, and 0 are usually the top. Judgment has now slid up there, 7 is constantly argued against, Ishin is usually considered one of the best depending on how a person views the series (Story vs. Gameplay) since the former won't really care for it but the latter will.
Dragon engine Kiryu was made to be more of a prettyboy for the fuj0s. His masculine sideburns were shortened a little and he's not as broad as he was in 3 and 4, where he's a straight up mega Kiryu tank.
There are differences between 6 and K2 Kiryu. He looks pretty sucked up and old in 6, suit somewhat wrinkled. In K2 he looks more well fed, younger since it's almost a decade before 6, and he fills in his suit more since he's a wall of muscle in this one.
4>3>7>the rest
I haven't played Kiwami versions of 1 and 2, should I? I would consider 4 one of my favorite games of all time
I too was tricked by the marketing but sadly the changes were less interesting than hoped for. stealth is poorly implemented and generally unfun with its use being limited to a few areas. Same with climbing sections. The game forces you to do school club minigames and they pretty much all suck. The racing one controls poorly, the robot one isn't fun and requires grinidng for parts, the dancing game doesn't have many music tracks and none of them are good. girls bar is just hostess club-lite with little going on. boxing sucks, it should have been just straight up combat. Photography is shoehorned in, esports club is like 3 VF matches you can just mash through and casino takes a while to unlock. It feels like a shittier Persona game with all the focus on school clubs but with bad minigames attached
>bawwww how dares he still being traumatized by that dumb death from j1 what a cringe lord ew yikes #not my protag
holy fucking shounenshitter piss babies
here's a (You)
(You)'re still a faggot.
Wait, Nagoshi left? I haven't been in the loop since I've been avoiding 4channel Yea Forums Yakuza threads since like 2016.
>and none of them are good
Take it back.
youtube.com
no way they're going to make any real announcements other than Y8 details and maybe a release window. I'm hoping someone asks them about Judgment PC issues.
Multiple chad protags, kino story despite muh rubber bullets, and great combat
he signed onto some tencent outfit to make his own games. He took a few heavy hitters with him which is the real shame of it all. Nagoshi gatekept Kiryu in a lot of ways that the studio didn't like, other than that he had little input on the games.
when are they going to bring tatsuya back
Does this mean Kiryu is free to do crossovers where he beats the shit out of womin?
yeah him and Daisuke Saito the other former RGG head are leaving the company to work with some chinese company. Like a Dragon and Lost Judgement were primarily directed by Horii the former music director and any new games aren't going to have any influence from them.
iirc, he's already slated for some fighting game now. could have been a rumor though I don't remember
His America Barrier Breaker power has to be recharged after breaking out in 2, you can't just spam a broken ability like that. Think of the craziness that would ensue if Kaoru, Makoto, or Beautiful Eyes could just break out of America every few games. Total anarchy.
I finished 5 a year ago, should i go for judgement or 6?
Left Sega, got 8 more ppl with him, funded Nagoshi Studio, the money is from China, they seemingly wired him enough to just make whatever the fuck he wants, don't forget about us while we are working on our yume game for years it will be great bye.
6. Judgment takes place after 6 though there's not much referencing it at all and the game's mechanics improve on the Dragon Engine.
>lead dev had little input on games
why do you lie so blatantly?
VF5US got some Yakuza costumes, that's about it as far as crossovers have gone.
Got it, i just didn't kinda want to end Kiryu's story
You're gonna have to bite the bullet sometime. If not here then with 7.
Do 6 right now niga, finish Kiryu's story. It's not that long and it's the most KlNO yakuza since 3.
don't forget about the zombie spinoff
Shit man, I thought he was going to be a wrinkled orange prune making Yakuza games for the rest to his days.
