>"So hey, this guy made what is widely and rightfully considered to be the worst Dark Souls formula game"
>"Let's have him in charge for the entire second leg of Elden Ring!"
Why?
Tanmura is a hack
Elden Ring is the improved upon good aspects of DS2, with a lot of the bad it had too.
>All the good aspects of Eldem Ring come from DS3
>All the bad aspects come from DS2
Sasuga 2fags
He co-directed Dark Souls 3 as well, in fact there is a good chance he directed most of it and Miyazaki put his name on it for PR as he was balls deep in Sekiro at the time
Tanimura alone? Best Souls 2
Tanimura with Miyazaki? Dark Rolls 3 and Input Reads
It's clear who the problem is.
Except he co-directed Dark Souls 3 too so Miyazaki clearly likes him enough to keep him around. At the very least you have to also blame Miyazaki, since he's signing off on all these "bad" design decisions that make you seethe.
i wish he got to make a sequel to ds2 specifically
I desperately want a Tanimura directed game and for him to politely shooo away memehacki. Maybe then we'll get back to skill based tactical, technical, and methodical rpg adventure hardcore experience, instead of the dumbed down casual mashy hack n slashy for Call of Duty ADHD kiddies the series has been since 2.
Why is this psychopath allowed to dictate droprates?
> Maybe then we'll get back to skill based tactical, technical, and methodical rpg adventure hardcore experience
you mean put points into skill to have a ridiculously broken roll that lets you roll through everything? wow so complex
also a big fan of his "let's reuse the same bosses 4 times except every time we increase the HP and damage scaling a little bit"
or his "worlds should only be a bunch of roads that go in one direction until you go back to the hub" approach to world building
>Tanmura is a hack
You realized that just now?
>Except he co-directed Dark Souls 3 too
Which was about as shit as DS2.
Did he create Shitskin Doodoo then? Shit's on par with DS2 stuff
I'm a big fan of hearing about how badly you were filtered by best souls 2
>Game or part of game is bad
>NOU IT ISU NOTTU MIYAZAKI-SAN HE PERFECTU
>you mean put points into skill to have a ridiculously broken roll that lets you roll through everything?
Besides just having that from SL1? Yea.
>"let's reuse the same bosses 4 times
That's literally a miyazaki staple. How many times did you fight asylum demon? Sekiro has highest boss reuse. You fight each boss probably half a dozen times.
>worlds should only be a bunch of roads that go in one direction until you go back to the hub"
So DS1? Because every lordvessesl boss is you going in one direction, beating the boss, and getting warped back. That's half the game. Even DS2's world is more connected than that.
This is a cope
>H-He was only involved in the second half
The entire game is trash, the 2nd half is definitely worse, but the idea that he's only trash because of the other guys directing is a huge cope. What, too afraid to say miyazaki is a faggot hack who is only good at worldbuilding?
seethe 2fag, all the terrible elements that plague the game all trace back to tanimura
Miyazaki's director credit is higher than tanimura's. You're playing a miyazaki directed game. How delusional are his cult of drones? Worse than kojima fanboys.
I've literally never played 2. This has nothing to do with tanimura and more about FromSoftniggers trying to create copes with how Elden Ring can have so many issues while also having Miyazaki as a director
This
>director credit
how does that work anyway? how can miyazaki be director instead of co-director when he's not the sole director? was the same with ds3. just seems like marketing more than anything.
Miyazaki's ego
Basically if it's good Miyazaki did it (even though he directed the worst AC game of all time) and if it's irrefutably bad it's someone else if and ONLY if there's clear video evidence of something being bad that no drone can refute.
Tanimura probably runs the day-to-day and Miyazaki reviews shit regularly and says yes or no
>getting filtered by an opinion
oof yikes cringe
>He co-directed Dark Souls 3 as well, in fact there is a good chance he directed most of it and Miyazaki put his name on it for PR as he was balls deep in Sekiro at the time
miyazaki also co-directed sekiro with kazuhiro hamatani, the lead designer of bloodborne
it's pretty obvious that miyazaki is just a glorified ideas guy who takes all the credit from his more talented co-workers
He was controlled much better this time. He's got good ideas, in total he shouldn't put them all into 1 game ever again.
Hierarchies. He is the director, top rung. Co-directors are on a rung below that.
>Yea Forums - Corporate Hierarchies
Hierarchies form in all things naturally, its an easy concept for most to grasp a pyramidal structure. I'm not saying a priori knowledge but its getting there.
BUT IF HE'S NOT THE ONLY DIRECTOR HE'S INHERENTLY A CO-DIRECTOR AAAAAHHHHHHHHH
miyazaki is responsible for taking away my ability to parry with a bare hand
It all boils down to Miyazaki being a retard that has no talent of hiring good people.
He's the sole person responsible for all the fuck ups since he'd know the rotten apples due DS2.
Honestly, you're an idiot and you should not be allowed to post anything.
>m-muh filter
I've beaten that game twice, one vanilla one sotfs. It's not particularly harder than any other game in the franchise, it's just worse. The only good thing they added was powerstancing.
You're close: everyone at FromSoft is an ideas guy which is why all of their games fall into the "good idea, bad execution" category.
Miyazaki is a director, yes. Can you name a single better one in the vidya industry right now?
Miyazaki is closer to being a Chief/Executive Director and Tanimura is probably the real Director.
Kamiya. Kojima. Yasuda. Probably a bunch others i'm not thinking of off the top of my head.
The only one who was even close to the same level is kojimbo, and he's washed up at this point.
As time goes on, the more I appreciate DS2's slower gameplay. Fuck it, just make another King's Field.
And Miyazaki isn't? Only good games he directed are Demon Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. Tto say otherwise would be equal to sucking his cock. He got lucky, everything that made those 3 games good are completely gone in DS3, Sekiro, and Elden Ring.
>guy who made 2 made ER
>ER is by far the most successful game to date, in terms of sales and ratings
>people are STILL insisting that 2 is "bad"
It's honestly impressive how much seethe 2 has caused since release.
>hating sekiro
Now I know you're talking out your ass without an actual opinion of your own. That game is well directed whether you like the subject or gameplay.
when people say Elden Ring reminds them of DS2 they mean the bad parts
it's not a vindication. the shitty, boring, annoying parts are the ones that are reminiscent of DS2, thje rest of the game is good.
It's not well directed. It fails in every department other than combat itself, which I don't like but I can at least admit it accomplishes what it wants to do.
Elden Ring has all the flaws of DS2 multiplied by a thousand, all the cookie cutter shit that made that game garbage rears its head after Limgrave and the only saving grace is the Underground Cities and Legacy Dungeons.
Once you've played the game once you will be skipping half the game because Tanimura's contributions are copy+paste garbage.
>its bad because...IT JUST IS OKAY >:((((
no
>retards still blaming Tanimura for the abomination that was ds3 and ER when Miyazaki is the director
Lmao
Kojima
Even if you don't like his games he deserves all the credit for the innovation.
>no way ER is actually bad like 2 even though basically everyone but contrarian retards are saying it's great!
cope
he's based
i bet if he directed elden ring on his own it would have been much better
I already addressed kojimbo. I'll freely admit that up to MGS5 he was up there. I really think MGS5 and the DS show he's not what he used to be.
Git gud lol. You're probably one of the people that complains a bout Malenia
>goty 2015 and goty 2019 show he's not what he used to be
>GOTY
>meaning anything
lol
lmao even
Let me be clear in saying the only Kojimbo game I actually enjoy is MGR. I can appreciate skill though, and I can see it in his games pre-MGS5, and can't in 5 and DS.
>have no director experience
>brought in at the last moment to save DaS2, a game that was completely doomed to fail just a few months before release
>salvage it with barely any resources (all of them were in Bloodborne), game release gets critical acclaim from both critics and a large part of the player base
>First real attempt at a souls game is the most extensive DLC pack for a souls game, widely regarded as some of the best souls content at the time
>Get co-director credit next to the big guy himself for das3 and from's most ambitious project yet, elden ring
The guy is a complete chad, he deserves to get his own game
I'm asserting that they're goty, not referring to any particular award.
no accounting for taste
>fails in every departament
then continue the argument, else people will call you a retard for "it's just bad cuz i said so".
