I think it either has to do with the fact that the first version of him has all the "Pro-Killer" moves with all the fucked up timing and the ability to shorten/prolong his combos like a fighting character whereas the second time round he has much clearer lines because of all the new shit he has, like the sword rain that doesn't do anything really.
The other option being that you're usually pretty hench and pretty deep into your build by the time you fight him again and have already learned his patterns.
