Something must be going horribly wrong with this movie. Nintendo must be regretting letting Illumination handle it

Nah, they just don't want to compete with James Cameron and Avatar 2 during the holidays. Remember Detective Pikachu made the same mistake going up against Avengers: Endgame and barely broke even. Nintendo won't risk losing against Disney twice.

Who is chris chan?

And these retards will believe it.

does he mean chris pratt or another chris?

Another.

The Post comes off as "We're redoing stuff to match more recent successes."

Oh yes, I'm sure that Bowser's movie will be worth the weight.

I forgot avatar 2 is happening
who the fuck would want to watch that sequel
barely anyone remember the character there

It's actually real.

Because James Cameron always finds a way to raise the bar.

Nobodies going to want to watch avatar 2, but yeah I can see Nintendo being wary anyway after endgame fucked them

chris-san is so cool

Avatar 2 will be hyped beyond all prior levels due to normie marketing

chris chan, the merge caused this

Guarantee this post is right. It's creative differences and politics.

So, it's not so much that they don't want to compete but they literally can't compete. Avatar 2 is using up something like 90% of VFX resources, as in 90% of VFX resources for the entire industry. That's why every single stupid ass movie is being delayed from Mario to Spider-Verse to whatever else gets delayed tomorrow.

What you are seeing is the ramification of the Disney monopoly, normally the VFX companies would just stick to their contracted schedule of work. However if Disney wants them to not work on other studios movies and work on their shit instead they pretty much have to or they'll never work again.

Remember Disney is Skywalker Sound, Disney is Industrial Light & Magic, etc. Here's a pic of all the shit they now own, pillars of the industry that make other movies happen.

That doesn't make sense to me. If there really were creative differences wouldn't the project have gotten canceled way earlier? How could they get this far

is avatar 2 gonna be 3d or have we gotten over that

Guy is a high up guy at the animation studio

>it will be well worth the wait
>regarding something made by Illumination Animation
>ever

why would they make a Mario movie when they exactly know it would flop because there is already a very good Mario movie?

Attached: 1627652646223.png (1053x1500, 1.8M)

How far do you think it got? There hasn't been a single ad for this movie, not even a character design leak, which is almost unheard of.

7 months out and nothing? That's the thing that makes no sense, even Sonic had a trailer at this point.

The question you should be asking is, why did Nintendo have the company that sued them over Donkey Kong make their Mario movie and now in 2022 use the same fucking company that made that Mario movie?

why is there even a mario movie? whats the plot? is mario black now and peach a trannie?

In the case of most creative properties, the IP holder is promised a product, then eventually gets shown that product, if the IP holder doesn't approve it gets sent back to be worked on. That's how these things work in both games creation and films. It stands to reason that Nintendo probably wasn't told about certain imagery or voice lines before contractual agreements were made, only after. Don't underestimate hollyjew just because it's Nintendo.

Making a Mario movie is probably the worst thing Nintendo could ever do, saving a princess is problematic in 2022, this thing is gonna get shelved.

This is where Sonic is untouchable and why he works, no women to fuck it up.

It's an excuse to keep Miyamoto out of the game design room so to speak.

Star Fox Zero and him almost causing Splatoon to not happen was the last straw.

they saw the scene where seth rogen pushes mushrooms on mario and laughs about how high he is

I was thinking, wouldn't Sega had to have given the okay for Sonic's first design? What the fuck were they thinking? Why do companies let jew producers get away with the most retarded decisions, ensuring almost every game movie is a disaster? Sega has to be one of the most incompetent companies I've ever seen.

don't forget the fact its just 3D animation, for it to not have a single teaser made is fucking weird
the only thing we got so far is a poster but that's it

Attached: file.png (999x786, 934.6K)

this is exactly what I was thinking, are they really gonna make a movie about a white male saving a helpless woman in current year? there is no way that's gonna happen.

Not real

Take another look at this postwr and tell me that's real

It's not Sega's decision. They can have the movie canceled if they're unsatisfied but the studio isn't obligated to listen to their criticisms since the studio is putting up all the money. Remember Nintendo is actually PAYING for half the costs of this movie in exchange for creative control. Most Hollywood studios wouldn't even allow that but I guess Universal sees the potential, can't really blame them.

yup, and don't think there aren't a bunch of faggots out there chompin' at the bit try and cancel Mario, if this thing turns out to just be a cookie cutter same as always Mario movie then it's gonna become a controversial nightmare. To the point where I can already fucking hear Bill Maher doing a bit about it in my head.

Good, now cancel it.

Every single time an announced deadline for movie gets postponed there's something fucky behind the scenes.
People in the business have known about the Avatar 2 premiere for years at this point, this is not the cause. Do you really think they wouldn't plan the releases at all?
Btw, Avatar 3 will premiere on 2024 December.

Why do you care what other people think?

who?

hey look, a tertiary trying to build epic meme attention for his outrage youtube channel

Not hard to top Avatar 1, it was dogshit, only CGI was good, that movie was the equivalent of a AAA game

I don't if I'd say that, maybe closer to being the equivalent of CoD in movie form.

Well one or the other was immensely retarded. Sega for not stopping them, or the retarded jew producers or whatever being so arrogant and denying Sega's request/advice not to make Sonic look horrifying. I don't normally buy into the theory that they're doing it for publicity because it's such a risky move, but it's so bizarre that not enough people involved with the movie didn't speak about how bad of an idea Sonic's design was, when pretty much any normal person who watched the trailer thought it looked horrible. There's no way there is such a discrepancy between normal audiences and whoever worked on the movie, which makes me believe it really was intentional.

Just give us a trailer or something

>Out of touch executives make the decision
>everyone else has to work around it if though they know it's a bad idea
It's not that odd, it's just a job.

In fact this is the normal.

Does Yea Forums still have the daily threads? Last time I used the board regularly the network wasn't very robust anymore.

That's not even real you fucking idiot.

Normies like you are cancer.

They were using a UK effects company, it is not possible for the UK to produce a character design that isn't fucking horrifying. You ever wonder why all the aliens in the new SW movies look like some kinda nuclear waste abomination? UK effects company did the designs, the UK only produces ugly things.

Sonic was redesigned by Tyson Hesse and the Director, Jeff Fowler, used his own VFX company to fix it as he himself was a VFX guy.

Jesus you're such a retard.

chris-san???

Some properties are so valuable that it's worth it.

>hollywood

>Mario movie delayed
I wonder why.
