Assuming you bringing her the Carian ring is not some elaborate 5D chess move, you're pretty much done with Ranni's requests. All she needed was the blade and for you to kill the Fingers' Shadow assassin.

While he only gets one new move, he's much more aggressive and uses Meteorite from the beginning instead of as a HP threshold. And the one new move is a fucking doozy, it's the nastiest command grab in the game if not the series.

They are an entire species. There are actually 8-9 of them in the whole game. The Fallingstar beasts are their larval state and the malformed Stars you encounter in underground areas are ones that didn't successfully become the full grown Astel.

Mimic just gets annihilated by this space bug. Even at +10. Astel bosses just get super crazy in the beginning with all their gravity spells but once it's down to 1/3 of its hp he slows down a lot and you can actually easily finish it off. I agree though, in the beginning it's a real pain that's why I took the biggest weapon I had, smashed his head like twice, then ran off until I saw a window again. At 1/3 it starts spamming meteors which never hit you, when he does that spell it's a guaranteed win for you because you rush it and crush its fucking dome like an egg.

The bite attack is stupidly easy, but when I fought him I would get like 1-2 hits in then he would start charging his AOE or start constantly teleporting, followed by either the meteor rain or the grab attack.

From could easily chalk up the copy-paste to Astel being a species, not some unique cosmic entity. The problem is they got lazy/retarded and slammed the other Astel into a random dungeon instead of a crater or something related to cosmos/gravity.
