is that sam hyde?

I thought grass had to be connected to a dirt block higher or lower in order to grow

>whats creative

Minecraft but with Terraria's content could've been the GOAT.
Combat in MC is pure ass, there's no build variety and like 4 different mobs.
Building doesn't even do anything, in Terraria you are at least incentivised to build homes for the NPCs and boss arenas.
Terraria just does everything better and more of it.

Then you wouldn't have any need to create a dirt house and the 'green top' joke falls even more flat.

Literally me. X's adventure's in minecraft i guess??

this is more than likely done in creative for the shitpost but grass can spread in a weird way overtime if you play for a while, for example if you built this house but had to take a small break to get more dirt and one wall was half built it could be enough time for the grass to spread to the roof. It's also just based off this old meme (forgive the censoring im not spending more time on this post to look for the original) in the original the suggestion is that the player has had the house for so long the grass has spread ontop and this is bad whereas in this new version the OP is suggesting he is happy with his dirt house and the green top is there because he is satisfied with the house

I could never just build a square dirt house because I'm always thinking about how to best defend against enemies, even though with sleeping you can just skip them most of the time, so I usually start building in a cave. Also cave houses are way more comfy.

>he needs walls and a roof

I usaually take over a cave myself, it's much cheaper to dig for iron

Why aren't you playing RIGHT NOW anons?

You can't compare minecraft and terarria, they're two different games who aren't going for the same thing.

Still haven't bought it

Because I'm laying in bed shitposting

because I don't play games for 7 year olds

Middle of the film James Bond villain lair/10
Kino.

but you are on a video games board. You only play big-boy games like GTA, Red Dead and Fortnite right?

Coudln't get shaders set up with tlauncher. I'm out of weed now and playing persona 5 royal instead. I'll play mc when i re up.

I'm still a massive noob at this game, but thanks

Is there a single one of these build n craft where you are actually forced or at least incentivized to build properly. Something more than the big "all crafting stations in a pile" room?

I play only HL, CS:Source and L4D2

Why does it take the devs 2 years to release a mob that doesn't drop anything and a couple blocks?

Blockvomit

I want to but I'm indecisive on whether or not I want to build my thing in the world I took a break from or if I want to roll a new world

Nothing to strive for after diamonds.

how to get better at building, I want to do something in creative but I just play survival and then use that as an excuse for why my buildings look bad, you know, no flying and limited resources. I don't think my building skill justifies the use of creative at this point because I can only build things that work but none of them look good. I am fine with laying down exposed redstone on cobble and dirt if it gives me food and normally my bases are organised around that. A bunch of connected utilities, I just can't imagine how I would go about building something that has 1 purpose which is to look good.

fucking 13 year old

Use alcoves, balconies, overhangs etc to break up overly blocky shapes. Fences can help a lot here too, placing them running up the sides of buildings. Best thing to do is the simply go online and look at some images of builds, and copy elements of the builds until you begin internalizing the design styles.

Console hardware is fixated, updates eat up those limited resources, so in theory the company must implement multiple use things into the base game. Plus there is mods and marketplace, you must leave space for those too.

ok but terraria is still better lol

my buildings look fuck ugly but giving them a little depth takes next to no effort
also planning the overall shape in advance with dirt blocks does wonders in case you decide to expand

fuck off, irys. you haven't even finished idol school.

This was basically my setup for 3 of the 5 total worlds I've ever made. Find the neatest mountain, usually in snow, dig in, eventually add big windows. Then begin a railway downslope and build it into the tundra's horizon. Take a ride and admire the sunrise/set as snowflakes fall. Peak comfy.

minecraft has much more impressive landscapes and caverns due to being 3d, but gameplay and mechanics wise terraria is vastly superior

just dont overdo complexity, if you cant comprehend what`s going on it will look like blockvomit.

Overworld just isn't interesting enough. I don't like mining so I prefer just to make a comfy shack but after that there isn't much to do.

there's actually a lot now. Get Netherite equipment, find the End, beacons, conduits etc etc

Looking good is very subjective. You can make a very non-functional building that copies something decent-looking in the real world but it'll probably be "soulless" and vastly oversized since your building blocks are 1 meter cubes.
From what you're describing you prefer to build just enough to fit in gameplay related items. That's similar to what I normally do (did) but why not try spreading out these gameplay things into separate rooms for a start?

Build slightly large rooms to give space for decorations to fill in the gaps between the functional blocks like furnaces and chests. Initially fill in the empty space with some very rudimentary tables and chairs and such, then decide on what to fill in the remaining voids with later. Use a different material for the floor, walls and ceiling. Try hiding your redstone under the floor and in side rooms. Those redstone sections should be accessible, which means you will have to figure out how to create some access passage to them. If you are building on a hilly area, build according to the terrain instead of flattening it.

The act of doing all of these will give your building(s) a sort of natural external shape that arises from necessity. This usually will always look decent as a starting point, then you can add decorations and touchups with different colored blocks to the outside later. You don't need to have greebles and block vomit everywhere to give it detail.

oh you had me excited there, it was just a model. though I hope something good comes out of it.

comfy

That is cool as hell, are those oil extractors? I really like the walkway between them.

Anyways, minecrap sucks and wurm is the better game

do you guys like Create?

You better mean unlimited or whatever the new sped up version is called. Og wurm is slow as shit
