Play vanilla Shadow of Chernobyl, try the ZRP mod if you are having trouble running it, although the latest patch is relatively stable.
If you like that then move on to Call of Pripyat and the Clear Sky if you are still not satisfied, but you have to mod the shit out of the last one.
