Gutted movesets

I find aiming with the bombs, ice breath snowmen and the gun to be a bit cumbersome. That's the biggest flaw I can find really.

this is the only true flaw, the upgrades dont really make up for it either but at least they do add slightly more depth on average. overall its a flaw that can be overlooked

They work fine in the context of the game but I couldn't help but feel like wanting more. The Morpho Knight upgrade is exactly what I wanted in terms of movesets.
I can easily see this getting rectified with future 3D games.

Abilities are poorly balanced and there's a bit of overlap. Witch Time is so obscenely powerful that it makes boss fights feel really samey once you figure out how to do it. That's about it. Still a good game and impressive for being the first attempt at a new formula.

Bandana Dee can't be P1 not even for the Arena, Kirby can't get Spear and Spear doesn't have any upgrades.

This right here. I still love the powers, but it's clear they weren't sure how to go about translating the controls over. 2D with directional is easy, while 3D probably needs at least one other button to extend out the possibilities for the moveset. There's only so much one can do with it.

My only real complaint is the lack of a restart from checkpoint button because certain challenges require things like "don't take damage during this mini boss" or "don't rake damage during this boss" so when you do take damage you've gotta quit the level, load it back up and restart it from the beginning, get back to the challenge and do it correctly. I guess if I had another complaint it would be that coins aren't worth much compared to how much you need to get the gotcha figures from the gotcha machines, so getting the last hundred or so figures was tedious because of having to replay the colossium repeatedely for coins. Besides those 2 issues it's such a great game.

the tilt n tumble minigame is legitimately harder than the true arena

You have to almost barely move the controller, it took me like 5 minutes straight of constant failure but yeah basically just don't move the controller much at all, if you're playing with the pro controller anyway, I haven't played it with joycons.

Yeah, I was expecting higher-value coins to start replacing the lower ones the further you get in the game, but even in the postgame you're still earning one coin per enemy when a single gacha pull takes 100.

Wtf are you talking about? I pulled every gotcha I missed after upgrading every ability and still left with almost ten thousand counts. It ticked down to 9xxx with the last figurine. You're supposed to save pulling them until you've finished the game. And I didn't replay a level to get more capsules or coins either. Just to mop up challenges I missed, and I just ran through it as fast as possible on those runs.

It is 60$ when it should be no more then 30$

I love Kirby to bits but I cannot stand the postgame always just being the same game again just with recolored bosses and like 1 or 2 extra bosses after slogging through all the recycled content. Meta Knightmare, Dededetour, it's all so tiresome.

fuck you I love speedrunning in Meta Knightmare, it's the most satisfying shit. And it's not like they're 1-to-1 copy and pasted bosses either, FL probably have some of the most drastically different versions of each boss yet with Phantom Forgo Dedede being so wildly different to his regular counterpart.

Postgame's the best part of these games.

There has never been a bad Kirby game.

Only started playing it finally (beat world 2) and I'm a long time fan of the series. I'm finding it super fun and it feels so natural to play as if Kirby has been in 3D for years already. That being said I do feel like making the missions a mystery until you beat the level or coincidentally come across it is obnoxious and feels like padding. I'd rather it just tell me it instantly. I had to fight Tropic Woods 3 times since I didn't know you had to break his vines nor do it without a copy ability. Thankfully the levels are short but I still find it to be a flaw when games do this sort of thing.

This bothered me in Star Allies also, like why the fuck relegate an entire ability to only a second player? I love Spear a lot so it's a big bummer.

Most flaws I have are minor nitpicks.

1: 30 FPS
2: No Metaknightmare of DEDEDE mode
3: Abilities need more moves

The auto aim for just pressing the button and after dodging an attack is fine but whenever I hold down the fire button and I have to aim at a target I find the analog sensitivity to be a bit low for my liking and I couldn't find a way to edit the sensitivity settings.

I could never tell when the game considered you invincible or not when drilling, so I never used it for the no-hit challenge. I always just used Volcano/Dragon Fire and tried killing them as fast as possible while spamming Witch Time.

Kirby doesn't have a beet red pussy that he sucks enemies into,

Made for toddlers, in a literal sense. I'm glad it lets you lads groom your targets easier but its just too iji.

restricted movesets, mostly forgotten soundtrack, dodge roll trivializes the game, bandana dee is completely unplayable if you're playing alone not even able to be played in the arenas
and a more personal gripe is that you have to grind the arenas if you want to get more rare stones

Have they made another kirby game that lets you combine power ups yet? That shit was the best in kirby 64 and I would love to see new combinations.

There were a couple of combos available in Squeak Squad, but it wasn't at all a robust system and it's one of the more bland Kirby games.

Maybe Kirby's succ is a unique ability among his own species.
