The dude behind it is pro-Ukraine btw

Sell me on the game, how fun is ship creation? Because so far all ships look the same.

30 dolla to beaucoup

10 dolla

Fuck, I forgot I can do that.

This but

What is it with indie shit these days?
I used to get games like this in a bundle with 10 others for one cent

All vanilla ships are intentionally have glaring weakpoints because you are going to fight them, fixing them on the go mad max style is recommended. The ship creation itself is basically just lego where you can just guns/engines/radar on your ship and the game will handle the wiring to the fuel/generator for you as long as all of them are connected with a hull, and you don't have to worry about wind speed/aerodynamic/etc like in from the depths.

I will now buy your game

I will now not play your game

i want to, it looks awesome but i also dont want to pay anywhere near full price

did the lazy fuck update it to the latest version that was only available on a dead website?

Can I build a titanic ass ship? So far all the ship games always balance things towards tiny squads of cheap weapons and interceptors instead of big ships.

No

You can definitely win the game with a singular giant ship with generous armor. Custom player designs are way better than what the game provides. If you use prebuilts though, expect to need to be a ratty fuck.

i dont have autism.

now im off to play more rimworld.

>a bunch of half-assed gameplay systems that each overstay their welcome by the 10th run
no thanks

Good. I dropped Airships: Conquer the skies after they killed big ships. Gonna give Highfleet a try.
Is it better to raid shit left and right or play friendly with everybody?

Doesn't work for me anymore. When I spin my mouse the ship warps all over the place.

highfleet is already boring by like hour 3 and i don't know why people enjoy it

I am. Everything is on fire and my ships are falling out of the sky.

You can actually roleplay the sinking of the Moskva in this

With nuclear warheads

You're in enemy territory so all the towns are guarded by rebel scum
and if you overstay the welcome the locals will contact the patrolling fleets to come down on your ass

Only exception is if you manage to find one of the secret villages

I did, it was fun but I was also quite bad.

What a garbage thread. Just check one in /vst/ instead of this.

I bought the game last November and had a hard time with it because I designed big ships that were fun but really expensive for campaigns. I dropped the game to play Deus Ex and then about four months later I decided to give Highfleet another shot. After watching a few ship building videos by a youtuber named phrosphor I spent a whole week building a new custom fleet for my first campaign. I basically made upgraded versions of the main ships to learn what ships need to be effective and then I made some original ships. This led to me finally beating the game; it gave me a real sense of accomplishment since I planned out my entire fleet with budget constraints and everything. Other than planning, what helped me was learning how to use planes and proximity fuse rounds. Another tip: if you want to use a custom ship as a flagship you need to make adjustments to the ship's file in notepad++. There are outdated youtube tutorials that link to an unofficial highfleet discord and they can teach you. Everyone there is super nice and helpful

What a shame.

HEY HEY PEOPLE XDD

Cool. I will roleplay the sinking of the Het'man Sahaidachnuy in this

With nuclear warheads.

>Kill enemy with their own missile
>Kill enemy with other enemy's missile
>Kill enemy by baiting other enemy's guns to hit it
>Kill enemy by baiting it to crash into the ground
>Kill enemy capital by surgically removing engine with AP ammo
>Kill enemy capital by having other enemy capital crash on top of it
etc etc etc
This game could definitely use style point system

The vanilla ships are so bad it goes a fair bit past "glaring weakpoints" you literally cripple yourself if you try to use vanilla sevastapol

The ONLY good vanilla ship is the lightning.

>The vanilla ships are so bad
I was already typing an angry reply, but then I read your second line.

dropped

Really? Kinda based. He's also a Christian, I guess he's one of the not dumb ones.

>Default large ships look like actual warships, with electronics, missile silos, superstructures and other stuff you expect to have on military vessel
>It is extremely unwise to deploy those in combat, because you will lose fuckton of expensive modules which can't be covered with armor
>Optimal ships for combat look like fucking bricks with as much armor and as little protruding parts as possible
This is logical, but nonetheless doesn't feel as good.

ship building got changed a bunch since the last time I played and now most of my ships have various fitting issues like pic related

another game that's sort of in the same vein as highfleet is nebulous but it's multiplayer only at the moment and has some major balance issues

It's like WW2 naval combat all over again, you can have big huge battleship and gunboats, but in the end the strategic ships with planes (and missiles) wins the war because they can fuck the battleships before it can even get close. The only reason why planes don't completely smashed the game is you have to scavenge and raid trader ships to have enough money to reach Khiva, and carriers can't do both of them.

Sevastopol is not intended for direct combat engagement, it's a fuckhuge tanker with electronics and missile defense means. Also 180mm guns are shit, 4 smaller guns you install in place of one deal more damage, have faster projectiles and weight less.

There's only so much you can do with what you have in the game and with how the mechanics of everything works.

Honestly I feel like any future games he does should lift the overmap/strategy layer stuff and improve on all that and just forget the flying skyship fighting.

Attached: Untitled.png (1928x1258, 1.45M)

I didn't say it was built for direct combat you retard

>huge engines
Don't do this, sure they have good fuel efficiency, but huge hull part that you need to install that engine weights so much it completely negates advantage unless used on really large ship that is not intended to go fast.

That is a really large ship that is not intended to go fast

If the dev is an Ivan then does he even get money if you buy it?

>cuckhole supporter
So he's a retard? Gotcha, best case scenario is piracy.

If hull part is surrounded by certain amount of other hull parts on all sides, it protrudes over them, which enables various building features like installing missiles in the middle of the hull so they don't get shot off all the time. There is more than one degree of such protrusion, and starting second guns can fire over large fuel tanks unobstructed.
This seems like very important thing for designing ships, but it isn't hinted anywhere in the game for some reason. However you can easily check out how it looks by disassembling one of Sevastopol's fuel tanks and filling space with 2x2 hull parts.

Assuming he set up transactions through any of banks working with swift, yes. Even if he didn't, there will still be money on steam side, he just won't be able to access them until he does that.

no, because transactions are blocked so steam/valve can't send money to ru bank accounts

I assume microprose gets the money and will transfer once the dev is getting out of the country or the saction is over.

Sanctions will never be over, not for as long as USA exists as a state. Cuba is still under sanctions imposed half of century ago. Ironically, Russian government is aware of it too, so they see no other option for themselves but press on, since they will remain sanctioned either way.

I don't see you mutts bitching about >le-offtopic whenever the designated RPG discord of avatarfagging trannies bump their latest Dilation n' Dilation CRPG memeshite in dogshit 380/40/88 types of threads. Just admit you tendies are insufferable spergs who can't into strategy and be done with it.
