But all the tools given to the player to even the playing field feel like band-aid solutions. Spirit summons were added to make the game easier, but the combat system was not modified to really account for it, because bosses still only aggro on one target at a time. You have fast animesque ashes of war, but you still barely even lift a zweihander off the floor. Bloodborne added quicksteps while locked on to make repositioning quicker and keep you facing the opponent, but ER decided to backtrack.

The guy was talking about bosses being way cooler than players, and you (assuming you're the guy) come in and try to flex that you killed him with some self-imposed limits, entirely missing the point and I'm sick of the way people talk about this game. I don't give a shit what people do and don't do or how they play it or whatever the fuck. Maliketh was cool as hell, I don't understand how people struggled with him so much. He doesn't have much health and his boss room is set up perfectly to avoid his aerial shenanigans thanks to the enormous pillars.

I agreed with the megumin pic guy that the enemy feature creep is much, much higher than the player feature creep, and the new features that the player *did* get (jumping, exchangeable weapon art, offline summon) are low effort and non-synergistic. I happen to have been a great fan of from games since Demon Souls, so Elden Ring was a disappointment to me, especially, after playing sekiro and feeling as though my options had regressed for a specific character (obviously there is more variety in builds in ER than Sekiro, but I'm talking about an arbitrary tarnished) between ER and Sekiro. If I was coming in here to shitpost, I'd just throw out some copypasta green text of every nitpick I have with the game along with some shitty Shazam or wojack or whatever the fuck, but I don't have those things because that's not what I do. If you don't understand the difference between shitposting and crying versus adding onto a relevant critique that someone else voiced, then a discussion board probably isn't for you, and you could just stay in /erg/ or /r/eldenring where noone will ever badmouth the game. I became the anime protagonist with a fuckhuge monster hunter weapon and fighting bosses like Malenia and Godfrey is still a massive fucking pain in the ass due to how all their follow up attacks come out faster than the recoveries for every single fucking attack of my weapon. Felt like I could only get in a swing once every like 2 dozen dodged attacks because it had to be that ONE attack that was guaranteed not to have a follow up, because otherwise if it did have an (optional lmao :^)) follow up I would get hit in the middle of my swing. Extremely fucking tedious way to design bosses.

Rune of death is a convex arc, rune Marika hangs on is concave arc. If you replace latter with former, it will complement bottom arc to create outline of circle around central part of the elden ring. This was basically life-death cycle which Marika has fucked because aliens she served needed to harvest souls into tree instead.

Wouldn't interrupting the cycle of life and death actually interrupt the soul harvesting instead of facilitating it? You can't harvest souls if people just don't die and/or keep their souls and respawn after death

It’s a really common complaint for this game, and I agree my Greatsword Str/Faith build was pretty painful by the end cuz all I could do was spam jump attack and weapon art

Spamming jump attacks against bosses like Malenia and Horah Loux is the worst thing you can do though because they either have heals on hit, or have so much HP while dealing so much damage that the trade is never profitable. Like jump attacking Horah Loux in phase 2 and being trapped in a recovery animation as he initiates his fast grab attack. It's less about jumping attacks and more about spamming rolling R1s (your weakest attack lol lmao) and whatever skills you can get away with.
