based retard

Yo just played tetris with my monitor off, game is dogshit.

Attached: 324098234908.png (862x577, 649.39K)

exactly, it's just a glorified spotify playlist

>Someone makes a game. An experience of gameplay and music, shaped to perfectly accommodate eachother and achieve a superior product.
>Some retard removes chunks of this carefully crafted experience and finds it underwhelming
No shit
This is why challenge runners are gay btw

yeah I played it without a keyboard and controller, it was super fucking boring

You mean to tell me that the soundtrack of a game heavily adds to its atmosphere, and makes certain key moments far more impactful? That's fucking crazy!

you definitely did not do that. but congrats you got me to respond

Played undertale with the sprites turned off.
Actually enjoyed it, god that game can be ugly.

>played tumblrtale
my condolences

guys i just played mario without functioning eyes, this game is dogshit fuck tendies

Not OP, but this is kind of a shitty argument. I can enjoy MGR without the audio on and it has a better soundtrack than Undertale. The point OP is making is that the other elements of the game are weak.

its a stupid fucking point go fuck yourself

This point would work with FF7 as well I bet. I fucking love the music in that game
Anyways, OP is unironically brain damaged.

Music is the secret sauce to a game's success and always has been

So the reason this game blew up Is because of the soundtrack nothing else, got it.

Also holy fuck not even a few minutes and people are already white knighting for this game, go play something else.

>playing games without their audio
Fucking soulless holy shit

I've been deaf for over half my life, the only music I know is what I heard on the radio in the car when I was a kid.

People generally underestimate the role of music in the video gaming experience.

>i played this game in a retarded way and am upset
>that's retarded
>WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

>play game without textures
>Not Immersed
I want a refund

Music is there to amplify the experience, a controller is there so you can actually interface with the game. What a stupid fucking analogy.

If the soundtrack is the only redeeming quality of the game, then the game was not good.

>A topdown rpg is lacking in the gameplay, and is more focused on story and atmosphere
That's literally never happened before

I read this post without looking at the text and I agree.

The story isn't that good user. LISA is way more enjoyable if you're playing without music.

why would I play without music you illiterate ghoul

I play Isaac without the music and it's still good, wtf undersisters?

you wouldn't, but the point is that the gameplay, story, etc. should be able to stand on their own

whys he illiterate

My professor said the strongest element of a story is the music so yeah that only seems natural.
Music and sound is the most old and primal way of conveying emotion. It's a force that enters your ears and makes you feel a reaction in your heart. Whether it's fear, excitement, intrigue or sorrow.

it's the first insult that came to mind so I ran with it.

the only thing a game needs to be good is a bangin' soundtrack

>insulting someone for the sake of insulting
you're an asshole user

get better opinions or something I don't know man

That bird is the whole reason I love red hot dogs.

Why the fuck are you playing games without music you absolute sociopath?
No shit it isn't as impactful without the music, this is true of every video game. There is not a single game that isn't a different experience without music.

the music really does contain a lot of the games charm. You can't say the same for every game. I was listening to podcasts during my second play of Elden Ring, and can only hum along to maybe a handful of songs. Godskin theme is good.

Megaman suffers from the same thing, the entire franchise is only good for its music. Same goes for Castlevania, Sonic, and a lot of other classics that get propped up because of a few ear worms. People need to move on.

went back and read through the comics and they really do hold up

The only person I know who plays games without the music on is my brother and he's a functioning tard I love him but I always tell him that's wierd. He's says it just works for him and he can't understand why rhythm games exist

There is nothing wrong with using music to boost atmosphere/game experience

same can be said about most good games

...

>Not having the music is the same as not being able to play the fucking game
Lmao even undertroons agree that their game is a glorified webcomic.

>complete experiences that consciously weave their music into their narrative/gameplay
>"hur dur its only good for its music"

>posts game where music is a main gameplay element
u am retardo

Yes? The games I listed control like shit and aren't fun to play in the slightest. They're glorified albums.

Rhythm Games, now feel free to back peddle

Wait nvm my childhood memory was a bit fuzzy.
This was the bird that made me want to try red hot dogs.

>castlevania plays like shit
maybe get better taste holy shit

try playing doom muted and see how much less fun it is
it's not going to completely kill your experience but music and sound design are a big part of almost any game (especially good ones)

Legitimately agree. Music had always been an essential part of video games ever since they could get past bleeps and bloops during the early days of video games. Even then sound in general was impactful and made a difference for the player. This is exactly why I always say that sound engineering and OST are 2nd only to gameplay in making a great game. Doesn't HAVE to be orchestrated, cinematic movie tier like its been for years now, either.

this looks vaguely familiar. I assumed you were on the right track since one of the first nedroid comics back in like 2007 or something had them eating a giant hotdog

oh shit, I remember this book. Thanks for the nostalgia user.

whats with the undertale/deltarune threads recently?
I like the games as much as anyone else, but the recent threads on here feel super artificial
its not like there was an announcement recently or anything

Huh weird coincidence.
>first nedroid comics back in like 2007 or something had them eating a giant hotdog
I was 7 years old by then holy shit.

turns out it was 2006.

feels like yesterday that he was regularly updating the site.

this is why katamari is the greatest videogame ever made

I played undertale with music and holy fuck it was completely underwhelming. Furfags get the rope.

Let's not get carried away. Katamari is great but it's not the best game ever made.

that music gives me a feeling like it's all going to be alright

You know, if you try to watch this on mute, it kinda feels like you're just watching actors go around talking to each other. Nothing happens in this movie.
