shit

bootleg persona 2

Best gameplay of the series, weakest story.

Shiho deserved it

I like underage girls

Good.

only incel losers hate it because noone will talk to them

Terrible game

Great music

Got bored after the piramid and deleted it

Kind of meh. At its core its just a rehash of persona 4.

Dogshit, just play Dragon Quest 11 instead

It's currently the overall best one in the franchise.

I love it, I think 3, 4, and 5 are a great trilogy of games, I hope Persona 6 changes up the formula those games did with something new and exciting

I would like for it to not be set in Japan

I wish the exams weren't so gay in the persona games.
I rented a DVD and it was late because you can't do shit during the week of exams.

Is that some local meme? Why you retards keep saying that?

it's a fun game once the characters shut up

It put me to sleep, idk if royal helps

because they've had 6 games with that aestehtic

>I rented a DVD and it was late because you can't do shit during the week of exams.
They fixed it in Royal. You pay for an annual subscription instead, so late fees are gone.

Some random thoughts here:
>Battle system is a boring cheesefest even by One More standards, thanks to baton pass, confidant bonuses, OP accessories and cheap MP healing
>Story premise starts off exciting and the characters are likeable enough on paper, but their interactions felt kind of weak and I largely stopped caring about their situation after Futaba's palace
>Palace designs are cool, but there is way too much handholding. Mementos gets boring quickly, but it is a nice idea as a supplement to both palaces and sidequests
>Good soundtrack, but a tad overrated. The new battle theme in Royal is a downgrade. English dub is great
>Sells itself as a darker edgier Persona but does not commit to this at all. Every time the party starts heading into grey territory, the game bends over backwards to show you how right they are and how bad the shitty adults are

- nice music
- great style
- dogshit story
- lame characters
- too long
Persona 4 is better.

Does anything special happen if you keep the first persona until the end of the game?

One of the best games ever made.

youtube.com/watch?v=o9gtf8YrPvQ

but, they're Japanese developers. Why can't they keep the story based in japan?

No

It's good, but the dungeons are needlessly long.
Pyramid was probably the most cancerous that I can recall.
I really miss when Jrpg were like 40-50 hours main game, + however much side content.
80+ seems to be the bare minimum nowadays.

Ah... i ask because when you change him there's a special dialog

Got bored around the pyramid, but I always try to fullclear dungeons on first arrival so that might be my fault and did the same in p4 and got bored

Has the strongest soundtrack imo

Very good overall but its flaws stick out a lot. The entire Haru's dad arc is both stupid and annoying, gameplaywise the first hours of the game are too restrictive, sometimes it feels like some main characters take too much of a backseat and I feel like the story is too similar to 3's and 4's
third best persona behind 3 and 2

Also might be because a lot of social links dry up around this time if you maxed the early ones like ryuji and Ann, which means you didn't focus on social stats to start doing the newer social links. It just hits a lull after a really strong first 3rd of the game

Not him but the problem is that persona has to take place in a modern Japan and they can't be very creative with it so it feels very generic especially when games like NEO TWEWY blows it away in aesthetic and unlike they smt where its often post apocalyptic they can't be very creative with it.

Not that user but I kind of agree. It's not wrong that they keep doing it about jap high school students, but it gets boring. Doesn't even have to be amerifat.

I always tried to 1-day clear it too, but the story often forces you to do multiple days.

Yeah 5th time schedule is too forgiving, if you try to be efficient you will be stuck with all links done by the end of November and will spend whole December in the gym or fishing.

Hated it
Shit story that goes on for way too long
Porrly written characters that feel like knockoffs of previous characters
Porns good tho

Fun, too long, only 2/3 of characters are good. Final battle was cool. Can’t get decent relationship growth without a guide.

Story is meh, characters interaction between the PTs are really bland and each character except ryuji really dont do it for me. Music is great and royal addition saves the game from the yaldaboath arc

Worse than 3 and 4. I hated all the characters, plot was retarded, "let's forgive a serial killer because he has daddy issues", "YOU MUST SLEEP" and more stuff I can't even remember now.

He’s just saying that he’ll show up again in the casino and final boss

P5R is my favorite Persona and a contender for my favorite Megami Tensei.

>Can’t get decent relationship growth without a guide.
I think you can pretty easily, especially with Chihiro's Confidant ability to help. P5R's the only Persona where I've done all Confidants without a guide, granted you have a bit more time to do them all there.

Good game but god I’m tired of it, move in to 6 or remake an older one

great game

Friend simulator the game.
So Yea Forumseddit gives it obviously a 10/10.

is royal really that much better than plain old persona 5?

It's got more content
The new girl isn't absolute dogshit like marie

It addresses some of the stuff people didn't like about the original P5 and adds a lot of new stuff.

pushsquare.com/guides/persona-5-royal-changes-all-differences-compared-to-persona-5

But as you see Yea Forumseddit hates it

The only real downside to it in my opinion is thaat it's even easier than P5, which was already too easy, but there are still plenty of nice changes to it and the new content is all good.

The gameplay peaks at Kamoshida's Palace and nosedives after the Artist Guy. Is Persona 5 R worth it, or should I just watch a playthrough?

Good. I'd say it was pretty engaging all throughout. Not my favorite Persona game, but still had a genuinely great time with it and I feel like the latter half of the game especially can be considered the peak of this series. The akechi stuff was dumb though.

me too.

I really liked it in spite of the mostly underwhelming writing. Kasumi's story was probably the most interesting part of the whole game imo. Her boss fight was one of the few moments where the attempt at an epic anime scene had some actual emotion behind it. Akechi was cool too up to his death. The Royale content kind of robs him of the dramatic exit.

marie is the best girl in p4 golden.

Her involvement with the plot is so half-assed it completely took me out of it. Stop thinking with your dick.

It’s fantastic. Everything but the core plot (and maybe the final boss) are perfect.

>The OST
>The core gameplay
>The unending ocean of mechanics

I enjoyed the original on my PS3. Now two years later, I wonder if I should got for Royal.
