>"are they worth it?"
user, please. At least with an xbox, nintendo or sony controller i can send it for repair and get a new one
its good if a good dpad isnt important
all vidya controllers are chinkshit though
I had one but i got a refund, it was cool with the backpedals and switch and pc connectivity.
But it kept disconnecting, trigger kepts squeaking, buttons felt bad dpad was awful and it wasn't that good.
Just get a DS4 if you care about bluetooth.
This is the new King of chink gamepad
I love it, but I keep I grew up on the SNES and I keep it hooked up the entire time, so I don't have anything to say about the battery life.
It's heavily shilled on this site and sites like YouTube.
It's cheap shit that panders to nostalgia.
It's probably fine if you're a casual that doesn't play games that often but if you're putting in a couple of hours a day or more or playing input intensive games then you're going to see it break within weeks or days.

bs ive had it for half a year while my dual sense started drifting within 2 months that one guy just makes bait threads but its a good controller
>A button on the B button (and vice versa
>X button on the Y button (and vice versa)
this Japan now?
We are Japan
I've like mine, the back triggers are fucking retarded and useless through because they can only be set to a single press, holding them down does not hold down the buttons you set it to
found one
I think they're very good for the price.
My first one had those connection issues to, got it replaced and havent had any problems since. I guess it's more common than it should be, and I'd recommend getting it from a place you know it's smooth enough to get it replaced if it's fucked in some way.
it will be fine. i'm still using a logitech gamepad F510
I just bought it and I got 25 hours out of it before having to recharge it. I hadn't precharged it either so a full charge may be longer.
I have one and it's goodo. Though I feel like I should have gotten an Xbox controller so the button prompts match up in the games that I can't mod
Echoing sentiments of other anons. I have 3 because they were 1/4 price of first party peripherals. No connection issues via BT for three different PC. Works on one old switch perfectly. But has weird latency on a different switch that I can't figure out.
I've had one for 2 years now, one of the best controllers I've had. Though I don't like the xbox layout and general feel, the dpad fucking sucks on those things.
I see a lot of people always complaining about this disconnecting when using it on bluetooth and I gotta say, I didn't expect Yea Forums to be this full of fucking dumbasses who can't even do 10 mins of troubleshooting. Mine disconnected too, but a quick google search made me realize it wasn't a problem with the controller, it was a problem with bluetooth and wifi interfering with each other. Specifically I'm referring to your wifi channel, bluetooth frequency is similiar to the one used by 2.4GHz wi-fi, so either use 5GHz on the device you're connecting your controller to or change channels (there's 14 of them ans iirc only the first 6 create some interference). If you can't even do that then what the fuck are you doing owning a pc.
As far as the controller goes, it's pretty great. After 2 years I haven't had any issues. The customizable software is pretty good to. I remember one firmware update giving some troubles to peeps online, but you can rollback whenever you want, so no big deal there too. Battery life is good too, i get around 6/8 hours of playtime. Don't listen to idiots saying the Dpad sucks, if you ever had a NES or SNES it's just like that, which means it's perfect for 2D platformers and emulation, which I play a lot. I've tried it on an actual Switch console sometimes and it's great there too. If mine ever breaks I'm buying another one.
Also, no I'm not using my fucking DS4 on windows. Compatibility sucks.
my wifi is 5ghz so it should not be a problem
Imagine that only people who shit on 8bitdo are people who have never used one. Then they accuese you of shilling, while shlling for snoy or any other big gayming brand. Fucking goys
the only thing I don't like about it are the snes styled start and select buttons
I think it's alright.
But I haven't actually used it enough to wear it down any.
Only comfort type complaint is that I wish the triggers clicked when all the way down.
Then you're set. Just remember the channel switching thing just to be sure, it takes no more than 5 minutes to switch them if needed. The only thing you might find weird about this controller the first couple times you use it is the angle of the face buttons. It's a bit different than, say, a ds3 or ds4, but you get used to it immediately. The fact that it works natively with x-input, d-input and switch makes it that much better than anything else imho.
Another neat thing is the fact that the customization software lets you create "virtual deadzones" for your triggers and analog sticks, so if they ever start drifting you can adjust them via software.
get dualsense
I have this chink controller and it's probably just as good or even better than the Sn30 Pro 2
It's cheaper as well
I'm playing on this mainly retro games and platformers. The dpad is a bit mushy but decent (better than the clicky trash dpad on the xbox series x), the abyx buttons are alright, the battery life on the bluetooth is pretty good but I dont have much to compare to. Also has a gyro
The main selling point to me was the different inputs (Xinput, D-input, Switch and Mac). You can use it as a regular, generic Xbox controller but if you switch the input to Nintendo Switch on the back Steam will recognise it as a Nintendo gamepad and you can use the gyro in it. So if you play a lot of retro games and platformers and like the ergonomics of a traditional gamepad its a pretty good deal considering the price and the features you get. There's also button mapping software and easy firmware updates.
I guess it all comes down to ergonomics.
Are there any decent controllers that don't cost 50 eurobucks?
Battery life is as good as Xbox if not a bit better, they also have an option to use rechargable AA batteries, unlike DS4 which after 2 years of using lasts maybe 4 hours of.
Logitech used to make decent ones in the past but I dont know what the situation today is.
I picked one up for Genshin Impact like a year ago because the 360 d-pad is dogshit. The A and R1 buttons got a little squishy after a couple months but still work fine. Solid controller
Any first party controller is trivial to get a repair/replacement form the manufacturer. Woth 8bitshit products you can only get a replacement from the retailer you bought it from.
It's pretty good, not my main controller but I like using it with my phone, especially when I use Samsung Dex.
FPBP
Buy cheap and you buy twice, or even thrice.
no, they are not worth it.
>Literally the ultimate gaming controller with 6 face buttons and dual analog
>Been delayed since 2018 due to Retrobit's bullshit and COVID-19
Guess I'm stuck with the Saitek p990 and it's shit D-Pad.
its shit
its over priced
its for faggots
its to milk retroniggers
mah nigga
wireless is for faggots
>xbox, nintendo or sony
Overpriced garbage made for consolecucks not PChads.
Does anyone have issues with their Dualshock 3s having the rubber on the stick suddenly erode and become sticky? I keep care of it but suddenly it's like the rubber is turning into glue.
I've had one that i've hammered out heaps over about 5 months now and the only thing that's starting to fuck up is the L3 button. Been using it for fighting games mostly. Maybe i've just gotten lucky.
that's normal. over the time this happens with rubber. you have to replace the rubber.
Seems like a pain. I've heard people say isopropyl alcohol works too.
>Sony layout
>xbox buttons
Big yikes
can't say if it really helps, i had this issue with my ps2 controller but i never replaced the rubber bc i was too lazy.
you can find those on aliexpress idk if those are the correct ones. aliexpress.com
I have it.
It's merely OK.
DS4 is unfortunately the best controller when it comes to general use.
Bought one for Elden Ring, was tired of clawing to play Souls games. It's great so far, but I only use it on PC. Never actually timed the battery life, but I think around 20+ hours? It takes a while to charge, however, I think 2 hours, more or less, so you'll likely want to buy a longer cable as well if you play far from your PC, just in case. You can also use regular AA(?) batteries with it.
I really enjoy the back buttons and the two extra face buttons, and being able to map multiple profiles and switch them on the fly.
The analogue sticks feel pretty cheap, didn't have an issue with them yet, be it drifting or any other, but it just feels like it's fragile, feels like it'll be the first thing to break.
I think the d-pad is excellent, personally, but this seems to be much more subjective, considering the varying opinions. My favorite d-pads before this controller were the DS3 and 4, for reference. I use them the most in 3rd Strike on Fightcade, don't think I've played another 2D game since getting the Pro 2.
Make sure to update the firmware, as they made input lag far better with one of the updates.
I still have my DS4 to use on the PS4, and I never feel like it's an upgrade whenever I'm playing it. I mostly just miss the back buttons when playing Bloodborne.
My main issues with the DS4 were shit battery life and stick drifting in two different controllers. Battery life is unquestionably much better in the Pro 2, but it's too early to tell regarding the sticks.
I'm waiting for the Xbox controller next month. My PowerA controller with backbuttons needs a replacement
Been using a bootleg USB PS2 controller since forever and it's never failed me. It literally says USB - Universal Serial Bus, can't get more chinkshit than that.
Just get some PSX-type controller with the analog sticks and separate buttons for the D-Pad, playing 2D shit with a single fused D-Pad is a pain in the ass.
thats the gayest gamepad ever nigger
got three of them, really good, but analog sticks after a year or so begins drifting and/or the rubber goes bad
All controllers are shit. There are literally no exceptions. No one makes a controller that doesn't have at least one glaring flaw.
If it's not a Dualshock or Xbox controller then is shit. It's that simple. You're only setting yourself for disappointment with 3rd party controllers.
what.
It's a pretty great controller. Been using it for a couple months daily, I like it more than the DS4 which feels like a piece of shit in comparison now. Just waiting for the inevitable drift to start happening.
All the buttons and sticks feel a bit stiffer and jut out a bit more than the DS4. I don't mind it and would much rather have the better battery life, profile options, turbo etc.
Being able to switch between xinput for PC and Switch mode anytime is pretty great and seamless too.
How is it?
i have F510 since its release. my ps3 ones broke down twice since then.
Now that is autism.
But no memes, i actually do have a Pro+ and so far i have no complaints. It, thankfully, have no drift whatsoever even with heavy use for 2 years now. Ill gladly buy a Pro2 if this one breaks down.
So far it's not drifting, which already says a lot to me (my DS4 controllers drift after a few months of usage, and I'm being delicate with them as much as possible). It's not "wow omg best controller ever", but it's usable. I just wish I could use DS3 controller instead, because that one had no issues with drifting no matter what you did to it.
What's the best controller for playing retro games with, then? I want something good that just has a D-Pad, no sticks
Great battery life as well. Great controller. Used them for as long as I could, RIP.
