The Chinese Room have never made a bad game, so it should have good writing at least. The main concern is the rushed development.

It's never coming out, user. It was put up for preorder years ago and the devs don't want the combination of having to issue massive refunds as well as the insane stock price drop that comes from canceling such a high profile game. It's never coming out.

Hardsuit Labs were fired in early 2021. Their code was zipped into 1,000 randomly labeled files, and send to The Chinese Room, a Sumo Digital Subsidiary who are keeping some of the assets, but rewriting the entire story, all the characters, all the gameplay, etc. This is going to be a distinctly Dan Pinchbeck game, which is a good thing.

Their job is to get the game shipped by late 2023 or early 2024. When people talk about the incredibly exciting game at TCR they just had to leave their cushy job to work on they're talking about VTMB2.

>The Chinese Room have never made a bad game
Their portfolio is essentially boring walking sims. Now they have to make a full-blown RPG. Guaranteed this new pitch is going to turn Bloodlines 2 into a walking sim as it's the only way this dev could 'salvage' this mess

I don't want it
Keep it away from me

They've released multiple interviews talking about how they're not doing walking sims anymore. It'll very likely be stripped down compared to what Hardsuit tried to accomplish, but it'll have combat.

I want to play Rudi's game!

>no proof
Yea user thats called a cope.

Rudi's game is actually Swansong, the guy who created him is a writer on that.

>This is going to be a distinctly Dan Pinchbeck game, which is a good thing.

I'm more amazed by Paradox.

>sit on fucking World of Darkness

How?

Doesn't Daniel Pinchbeck have like a PHD in FPS game design or something?

Same reason they can't reasonably make a decent DLC for Stellaris that offers more than a single new menu that allows access to a few percentage modifiers. They are an absolute shit company that is coasting off of past good will for the games they released a decade ago.

Does anyone have the OG source for the Russian QA tester leak of Hardsuit's VTMB2?

> And you didn't even see the new Masquerade game, they allowed me to see the beta, but... aside of me being beta tester for shittycode of fucking TES online, KOTOR online and even unreleased version of Fable in its time, I've take a look, tried to test it and I was like "what the fuck? It's so bugged". I've pointed out the most important bugs, written it down and gave them to the support and dev team and guess what, they didn't fix them, just screwed that and then moved the release date.

> You want a "living" world? You ll get a fuckin dead one, just like your protagonist. And ooh fuck me, they parasiteon previous game so... what's even funnier are whores you can't suck on without 5 points of humanity, because you can't even make your arousal up and you go fuck yourself, because it seems that code implies that, but they just don't get you any pussy. Cops are wooden (stiff?) and also fuck me, in fact I'm breaking the NDA and they will make me pay a fine if they know, but knowing the rats on 2ch — they will know.

> Fuck, man, did you read my post? TL;DR of the story - you're little mommies semihobo which gets rejected by his girlfriend because you don't have any job and you're a couch potato. Short after breaking up with the girl, the band of crazy thinbloods attacks you (WHAT A FUCKING TWIST) and bites you, fuck, you're the only surviver. The chick from the vids is a muslim, prays allah much and does jihad to infidels, factions are nominal, you can't join them, you are not even a "fixer" type, you're a piss and shit, who is asked to wipe the shit out after the most powerful ones, no one respects you. Clothes are hoboesque, the plot is pretty dulltoo, only the Maniac-guy is cool, he's written like Jackie and Jhonny - charismatic little bastard you want to be friend with. Ai is stupid, no, it's stupid even with comparison to Cyberpunk. I'm waiting the start of the new beta and will try to sign up again. If they didn't fix shit, I'll make a thread. If they do - buy it.

> Jeanette/Therese Voermann. Yes, she is in one quest, you can't fuck her. Malkavians as a class are fucking lost (bad). You better play the tremere.

> Don't say me shit. I had a good feeling about this beta, but when bugs flow one after another... I remember one in particular, lemme say the best bug on earth. During sexy time with a muslim girl, my character fell down through the bed textures, flew through the skies over this house and died after falling to the asphalt. That was epic. So, wait, bitches. Trust my experience, after beta of this shit I feel like cyberpunk is a god-tier game.

> The thing is that the game uses V5 as a base and it's shit. Everyone has bloodmagic, even thinbloods. By it's nature they are blood mages, because they inherit every bit after some clans. What's even worse is that Tremere clan figured out an algorithm in which young thinblood can enter the diablery clan or make a fullblood transfusion. (I don't exactly get what lad is talking about)

> Half of the Tremeree features from the first game are lost, but there are some good things. They really added them magic, you can summon almost everything, you only need victims. You can summon a local armagge-fuckin-don on the street with a rightly createad pentagram and 5-6 victims. On the other hand, that kind of thing draws yout bloodpoints from tremere and therefore they want to eat like crazy. During beta there was not a single our without maximum hunger and feeding on every hobo I could get to.

>If you're fine with dialogues like:

"Cross: would you like a dick?

You, as an MC: yes"

>Then you'll be happy. So far the voiceover was only in english, but dialogues are "childhood tarantino"-tier.

>If you didn't play the first game or read any rulebooks you can lost in the character's logic. Many of nonimportant NPC's don't have logic at all, like, they tell you for 3 hours how they can't kill anybody, because they gave an oath and now they only feed on rats, because they've rad Twighlight (what???) and after 5 minutes they fucking splatter the police spec ops with a wooden board and burn them to the fuck's mother.

>It's a big-big secret. You should write them (not me). They called people to test their game while they had a free time. They took me for a 2 months, some peeps wowrked for a half of year and I fuckin know they are hear, they're just afraid of 30 k bucks sanctions.

Pichbeck is a pretty cool guy, and takes an enormous steaming shit all over Mitsoda as a writer.
>"I have stood knee deep in mud and bone, and filled my lungs with mustard gas. I have seen two brothers fall. I have lain with holy wars and copulated with the autumnal fallout. I have dug trenches for the refugees; I have murdered dissidents where the ground never thaws, and starved the masses into faith. A child's shadow burnt into the brickwork. A house of skulls in the jungle. The innocent, the innocent, Mandus, trod and bled and gassed and starved and beaten and murdered and enslaved. This is your coming century! They will eat them Mandus, they will make pigs of you all and they will bury their snouts into your ribs and they will eat. Your. Hearts!"
>"I lay there, and watched the God I had created die. At the end, when we were cold as the stone we had hewn his body from, when the lights were nearly all extinguished, we heard, in the silent distance, the man-pigs singing to one another. Then, as the last lights went out, and we lay together in the deep, they drifted away, and all was silent. Such a silence I have never known. And as the dust settled on my open eyes, and we lay together embraced forever, I heard, miles above us, the sounds of the city turning over in its sleep. A churchbell ringing out — and in that moment, the new century was born."

The Chinese Room/Sumo Digital are making VTMB2. This is a fact and the sooner you accept it the better. That's why they've been staffing up and hiring people for an FPS/Horror/RPG game.

>no proof
cope harder

No developer, with the best will in the world, can make a VTMB sequel to satisfy Yea Forums. If they make a throwback game filled with early-2000s mall-goth edge, it will look dated and Yea Forums will its embarrassing adolescent posturing because they do not have the nostalgic attachment to the new game that they have to the original. Nostalgia goggles play a vital role in the popularity of VTMB on this board. If the developer tries to update the game to present sensibilities in any way at all, that will go even worse for them because old good new bad.

Their problem was becoming hung up on making Bloodlines 2 specifically. Source material is Vampire: the Masquerade. You can create whatever you want using the property, but no. They wanted Bloodlines 2.

which modern developer could even pull off making a good bloodlines 2 Yea Forums?

user, sometimes there are things in the games industry that are "known" through a combination of leaks from drunk PR people in the UK and a process of elimination.

The last time Hardsuit shat the bed on a game it was Rogue Warrior, and they hired Rebellion to salvage the project. Rebellion aren't doing VTMB2. Too busy. Sumo Digital are THE go-to for British outsourcing work, and were the studio hired to work on Dead Island 2 after Yager shat the bed on it. (Before the work was then handed to Dambuster.)

It's Sumo, user. Multiple people since early 2021 have said it's Sumo/TCR. This is why Paradox are keeping the studio a secret. They don't want to have to deal with idiots whining about "muh walking sim" and stuff, and want the game ready to show when they officially announce the studio.

By all accounts "The Gentleman Gamer" is a pretty well respected figure in the VTM community, and I'm not sure why Rudi makes people seethe so much. OG VTM lorebooks had way, way, way more retarded shit in them.
youtube.com/watch?v=0qcfgZ2IYUs
As far as can tell, he's helping on Swansong as a lore consultant and stuff. Big Bad Wolf have their own writers telling their own story. But he's a bona-fide VTM expert.

2016-era eidos montreal with good writers and no square enix meddling

A completely different source who is friends with people from Hangar 13 over on the QuarterTo3 forums said, a month or so earlier, that he'd heard The Chinese Room were the dev. forum.quartertothree.com/t/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines-ii/141318/333

It's The Chinese Room, user. Which is of course welcome news.

You remind me of those people who were in denial about The Initiative making Perfect Dark. It was incredible obvious, multiple people had said it was the case, and yet right up December 2020 you had people saying they didn't believe it, saying they didn't want it to be true, etc.

>literal who

>Avellone gone

It's gonna be hot garbage

I have no clue what’s all going on with the game. With all the rumors and shit in this thread I just don’t care anymore. If it’s out I’ll give it a pirate maybe but it’s gonna be bad or mediocre

There's also a paper trail of job postings from TCR that coincide with Paradox nuking Hardsuit from orbit. An incredibly exciting FPS/RPG/Horror game that they can't talk about yet.

I for one am SHOCKED that the studio that was hired to salvage Dead Island 2 and Crackdown 3 got hired to salvage VTMB2. Never saw this coming.

>muh paper trails
>only one fps rpg horror game in existence

Vampire the Masquerade Swansong is less than a month away, and people are still obsessing over vaporware in the middle of a complete reboot because it has "Bloodlines" in the title.

Attached: FRCMzt6XsAAHSKv.jpg (1665x931, 75.51K)

Swansong looks like girlboss bullshit with 90% of the cast being niggers. I'll pass.

Who, pray tell, do YOU think is making VTMB2 if you're discounting Sumo Digital?

I almost preordered it.
Man did i escape a trap.
I just want to play a sequel or at least a spiritual successor to it. Vampires are cool and VTMB is an amazing setting.

cliche and cheesy desu

Nobody. Until I hear otherwise from a reputable source (not hearsay from day old accounts on backwater forums and seeing job listings for an RPG developer and going "gee golly VTMB2 is an RPG that means it's VTMB2!) then for all I know it's cancelled. I'm not going to waste my life coping when I could waste it making fun of zoomer faggots like you who are this desperate for a bad game.

Leysha is an anagram of Halsey.
There's a 50/50 chance that "Leysha" is a child vampire that has created this entire false personality of an adult to protect herself. The other 50% is the more predictable twist that Halsey isn't real.

Attached: FQp_DA4XMAoxLQL.jpg (3840x2160, 461.67K)

I think they gave up on it, they already announced that they're letting others use the VTM IP so long as they get like 1/3rd of the profits and get the final say on creative decisions.

Attached: 024.png (962x827, 384.55K)

>(not hearsay from day old accounts on backwater forums
Literally all those accounts are somewhat old posters. There's a reason that there are literally no genuine alternate theories besides it being TCR. because it's TCR/Sumo. There is way, way, way too much smoke.

That's completely unrelated. It's just a fan game thing. I don't get why people think that the world revolves around Bloodlines 2. VTM Bloodhunt is coming out in like 2 days. VTM Swansong is coming out in a month. Bloodlines 2 will be coming out in 2023 or early 2024. Paradox have been very clear that they're happy with the work the new developer are doing on Bloodlines 2, but when you scrap someone's game and pick it for parts, it takes a while before you have something you can show publicly.

Account in your pic is one day old. Are you pretending to be retarded or actually retarded?
>there are literally no genuine alternate theories
There are no genuine theories at all. Even yours is just hearsay with no proof. Cope harder.

>Their portfolio is essentially boring walking sims
i mean the combat was the worst part of Bloodlines, if that is going to be the baseline, the less they have of it the better
rather have good quests and great atmosphere like the first one
also personally i want good platforming, i want to jump on rooftops and be edgy

You can find this out if you look at the leaked achievements, but the big, big, big twist is that the British are coming. The conspiracy is a bunch of British vampires trying to take over Boston. Big Bad Wolf are French, so it tracks.

Would Avellone have been a good writer for this setting? He obviously thought Star Wars was a stupid proposition with an untenable philosophy behind it, so he would probably wouldn't be impressed with a setting that has secret vampire societies going undetected and somehow functioning as a community despite their innate backstabbing nature. No, I think Avellone would want to write a smart-arsed commentary on the setting and 'subvert our expectations'.

That poster isn't the first. There was a poster on the OLD GamingLeaksAndRumours discord who came out the blue in early 2021 and said that TCR were taking over VTMB2. There are three different sources on different forums over the past year who have said that TCR took over. And other posters on RPGCodex put together a bunch of the evidence that points to TCR being the dev. Within weeks of Hardsuit getting the boot, TCR were suddenly ramping up hiring on a mysterious game. A game so exciting that writers from BioWare and Hogwarts Legacy were suddenly joining The Chinese Room, as well as people from Rocksteady. It's an FPS. it's an RPG. It it hastily and rapidly being put into production. it's VTMB2.

The Chinese Room are making Bloodlines 2.
Crystal Dynamics are making Perfect Dark.
Virtuos are remaking MGS 3.
Bloober Team are making Silent Hill.
All is well with the world.

>Nooooo random posts on random forums are proof
>They have evidence I promise nooo I wont post anything other than complete nobodys making baseless statements
>see this one guy heard from his friend and posted on the internet its true see
>Im right you just have to believe meeeee
cope

Blizzard is actually making all of those.

>Mostly junior staff are working on it
Well it's dead Jim

I mean, it's definitely not an ideal situation. But Paradox want VTMB2 shipped. They pissed a lot of money up the wall on Hardsuit's monstrosity. It's gonna be fascinating to see how they handle this. They can probably use the hub environments. But they have to make the actual guts of the game. The quests, the writing, the dialogue, the combat. Because all of that stuff was complete dogshit in Hardsuit's version. The 30 minute gameplay demo looks fucking awful in hindsight. We were way too forgiving.

You're welcome to believe whatever you want, user. But don't come crying to me in December when Bloodlines 2: Machine for Kine appears at The Game Awards.

>American studio completely shits the bed.
>British chads take over and ship a cool game on tight schedule.
It's Silent Hill: Origins all over again.

>I wonder what the next bad game will be
This is your brain on alt-right idpol outrage

Avellone said that Mitsoda rejected everything he submitted, so that sounds about right.

>We were way too forgiving.
Quite a few people weren't and rightfully so. Not only did the gameplay look awful but where's the Gothicpunk aesthetic that's integral to VtM and WoD? Every new project under the IP seems to have their devs not realise this and that's the thing I'm missing the most.

I hope Chinese Room bring back Rik Schaffer as composer. Jessica Curry is great, obviously, but I really want Rik's touch.

I think there has been an attempt by most VTM stuff to distance it from its 90s roots. The focus on clubs and stuff was a strong overhang of period cultural trends.

The Bloodlines 2 demo footage makes the criticisms of Cyberpunk 2077 look almost quaint.
>Completely dead city.
>Boring scenery.
>Boring dialogue.
>Boring quest design.
>Barely functional combat.
youtube.com/watch?v=0ssLizHtFK4
The one thing that does worry me is that the new developer won't live up to Hardsuit's promises about mod support and stuff, though. Hardsuit may have been incompetent, but they had their hearts in the right place community-wise.
