I like the skills and how they look in isolation, but in a group everything looks like a clusterfuck. Harder to visually read then the average mmo already is.
I dunno I never really had a problem with that. When you've got enough shit going on that you can't see what's happening you usually don't really care about the specifics. It's readable enough in pvp and fractals and that's the only content where you can actually make the most of the combat mechanics. My problem with the readability in this game is that outside of skill effects it's hard to figure out what class someone is because everyone has the same slutmog on a human or norn female.
>they actually killed off every elder dragon
What now?
How's WvW today? Haven't played in years.
someone gift me the mount expansion i'm tired of running everywhere this game is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO slow
The game was more fun before mounts. Use your skills.
wasting 3 hours just running from place to place around the map sure sounds fun
Fourth Alliance beta soon in late April or early May
Core game areas were made with walking in mind since there was no mounts, They are designed so you don't spend more than 2 min walking without content or something happening don't worry about mounts really.
Why do people like GW2 combat so much? I tried GW2, admittedly didn’t get super far only maybe 12 hours in, but the dual axe abilities on warrior just felt clunky and animations are just super ancient and unsatisfying.
The way combos and buffs work is really good. Honestly though the game isn't fun until you've unlocked all the shit that makes your class actually work and the game is slow to dole it out so I'm not surprised it didn't grab you.
I know it’s got a nice endgame and stuff like that, I just personally didn’t enjoy the combat all that much compared to say, WoW warrior. I heard berserker is more like that with rage and everything but I never got that far. The combat overall gets better I’m sure but it looks like it lacks all the abilities and variety that WoW fury warrior has.
I liked a lot of its ideas when it came out, thought it was rough around the edges at the time.
Re-install in 2020 couldn't remember how to play to the point of even being able to sort my crammed inventory. Zero memory of even the interface controls and sort of gave and logged back out. Feel bad for that as it I was curious about it, but didn't want to delete a character relearn how to play.
The combat has so many layers, Warrior axe axe for example, eviscerate is the burst skill, its super high dmg ability that also generate might, and has a leap combo finisher, Since its a high value skill making sure it actually lands is paramount, so what if you use your axe throw since it has cripple, but that axe throw scale with how low the enemy HP is, so that first decision you have to make, do you double throw them? or throw one, eviscerate then throw another to take advantage of the missing health bonus, but axe throw isn't enough to get 3 levels of eviscerate so maybe a multi hitting skill like whirling axe is good there! but whirling axe take a bit of time 3secs to complete what if instead you did a dual strike for quickness then you whirlling axe into an axe throw into an eviscerate, and why not cyclone Axe before the eviscerate too? for the extra vuln stacks and fury? Or maybe you instead build up to an eviscerate THEN use both axe throws to make sure target won't escape, but axe throws are projectiles and they can be reflected or blocked so do you take that risk??
This is only the FIRST layer of combat with only one weapon and no skills or traits, Hell technically you can use your off hand axe as a condi weapon if you have a torch for whirling in fire field combo, it gets really really deep the boon condi system, the combo field system, the projectiles system, etc.. they all come together so well, i spend half of my time making up builds on ele to try them in wvw or 5man/open world pve
I'd give it another go but there's no servers here and the combat is too actiony to enjoy with high ping
game is pretty fun
Try necro, its the least actiony class
I fucking love Ele Dagger/Dagger. Didn't unlock elite specs yet
ele D/D was my goto until i unlocked weaver, then i went sword/D weaver is hard
DD ELE KING
Wait until you unlock catalyst, you will see how good it gets
Maybe we get to kill the rest of the useless shithead gods now, preferably starting with Kormir.
I hope they bring back Ritualist and Paragon with Guild Wars 3 one day...
Unfortunately. I really like the idea of combo spells - for example if you set down an aoe field spell then the projectiles that go through it get some additional properties. But in reality this system never comes into play because everyone just spams spells without real thought.
>own the heroic edition or whatever it is from years ago
>try to enter the game
>account lock due to security purposes
>look up that i need to send a ticket since they automatically lock inactive accounts
>enter customer support site
>submit ticket
>requires me to login
>same error
so.... what the fuck am i supposed to do? not like i remember my serial key and so on.
Aren't you able to e-mail them to unlock your account? You might need to provide your old game key.
>But in reality this system never comes into play because everyone just spams spells without real thought.
Because the game never really expects you to learn how to play in a manner where you must exploit combo fields and shit. There was a video of a group holding off an entire zerg in WvW because they actually knew how to play, but such things are always subjects to balance and whatnot. I also think ANet had the initial fright when people were literally dying in starting zones because they didn't know you had to move around during combat so they overcorrected in the opposite direction.
that might be true in zergs, but if your build makes use of those combos then you'll have a lot more fun with it
>thief
>gets bonuses from stealth
>pistol 4 puts down smoke field
>dagger 2 has leap finisher
>smoke+leap=stealth
>weave that into your rotation
its fun
it's one of my favorite dress up simulators
all my buddies quit though because it's either wow or nothing for them, i left that game as bc ended and never went back
i liked ff14 but after 4 years i had my fill and put it down
still keep gw2 installed because there's no sub fee and it's comfy but i don't play much
i can but i said i dont remember the details. will they just unlock it if i just ask them to if i email them from the said account mail?
biggest problem with gw2, as with any other game with extensive outfit customization, is it quickly exposes what utter lack of taste most people have
Hard to tell. I haven't had the case, and haven't really read about what people are required to do except for providing the old game key. You might be able to give them an old character name or something. Not sure.
Otherwise, if you have the receipt, you might as well send that, if you don't find the key.
I'd just mail them and see how it goes.
>it's one of my favorite dress up simulators
It's good but at the same time there's a lot of skins that just hurt the overall aesthetic and dont fit in at all.
Weaver Sword/Dagger is that, but on meth. Most fun Ele is allowed to have in the entire game.
You should go for Tempest or Catalyst if you want to join party-based PvE, though.
Balthazar being a villain was gay as fuck. Everything he did made zero sense. If he actually wanted to kill Krackhead the dragon, he could have just rallied the human population to aid him without needing to use any kind of subversion or forcefully converting anyone. Hell, he could have walked right into Divinity's Reach and everybody would have grovelled at his feet.
I'd say the only reason why he was turned into a villain was so PoF's writer could live out her power fantasy of killing the patriarchy.
>quickly exposes what utter lack of taste most people have
this
>doing world bosses
>look at other characters
>see edgelord
>see sparkly
>see someone who spent too much money on the gem store and latched on whatever is on there
>see pervert's attempt at the skimpiest armor literally me
as awful as some fashion is, its fun to look around
Fuck man, it's getting more and more tempting to return to GW2. Haven't played it in years.
Join Styled to Death [STD] if you in EU, or any other fashion guild, they even make fashion contests and shit
Good luck playing catalyst without knowing what combos are, also nowadays combo finisher skills do glow a faint white when you in a combo field, and there is a mandatory combo trainer in seitung, so things are looking up
if you got season 2, 3 and 4 then you got a ton of cheevos to get, which will get you a legendary amulet, and some other stuff.
its also a good opportunity to get a skyscale if you dont have one, as you get 250 of each lws4 currency through it
>yeshua nazareth get sick of everyone's shit and picks up the sword instead
>youtube.com
Brother, tonight we behead the infidel!
Support Specter is the most fun I've had in this game for a while. You're just teleporting all over the place thanks to wells and Scepter/Pistol and because there's two traits that heal on shadowstep you're just shitting out heals for allies every time you use your wells and combo shot and just shitting out even more barriers too.
KORMIR AKBAAAAAR
>You might be able to give them an old character name
This was the case with GW1, but not GW2.
>mfw GW1 Living Story is making a comeback
It would be a much better dressups game if there were any good clothes to dress up in.
do what
Oh yeah, isn't the GW1 anniversary on? I was thinking about getting that broken Paragon elite.
I'm sorry user but I still have an unquenchable hatred for the devs for butchering every storline I love
>Fucking off the human gods because they don't have a fucking clue where to put them
>Fucking off Joko without even having him fight the Mad king
>Fucking off jormag
>Fucking off primordius
>Fucking of the end of the dragons when back then people were theorizing that the whole of Tyria was the mightiest of all elder dragons and we were parasites inhabiting it
I kinda wish they had just got with the trinity 2bh. Every dungeon feels like in other MMOs if the tank dies and everybody is just running around kiting and stuff
at least they put joko and king thorn interactions in the halloween event
>the whole of Tyria was the mightiest of all elder dragons and we were parasites inhabiting it
That is still very much a possibility.
We don't really know what the "Void" even is, other than that it's a world eating entity that predates the (other?) dragons, and manifests when they aren't there to filter the flow of magic.
I love Weaver. It's just sad that Scourge a spec that has ranged dps, double the hp, dozens of utilities like barrier and is easy to play does just as much damage.
Makes the spec kinda pointless to play.
for me, it's base staff ele
>the annoying dykes are back front and center
skip
A dragon women birthing the world out of chaos waters (the waters of birth) is a motif in so many sea neighboring mythologies, So yeah tryia could still be a dragon, in fact all dragons are just celestial beings aka planets and it was confirmed already, the theory isn't dead at all
DPS isn't everything. Not sure what weaver offers in addition, but people shouldn't fixate so much on numbers.
That's my point. Weaver is a selfish spec and yet does only just as much dmg than somethign that brings alot of utilities.
