This scene made me commit to the series, when I got to the episode where it's revealed he's fine, I faltered. Around ep 13 I realized every important character has plot armor and there are no meaningful consequences to anyone's actions, then I dropped the show.

Shame really, I liked the show otherwise, but if you don't want to kill off characters then don't pretend they're dead so many times.

NTA but I got baited into thinking the show was going to be Boji and Kage going on adventures across the lands to learn how to be a king reminiscent of 70s anime. And instead got a shonen anime complete with power level fuckery, matchups, and forgiving the villain's because of tragic backstory shit.
