Because they killed the scene covered through media they killed any non local scene, and any local scene would only be motivated to continue if a larger scene were present to rise to the level of or you had such a strong local cult following that it transcended national/international meta unity. I'm glad to hear some people play online and even host online events but it is NOTHING like when PM was actually online legal, it's as much a modern novelty as Brawl Minus is.

nigga I'm just learning people played PM, so no I can't say I have. I used to be a part of a local Project M group that did weekly tournaments locally alongside Smash 4 and Melee. That's gone. I don't even know if the MDVA PM group is still active that I joined since I visited Xanadu a couple of times.
I'm not trying to diminish the skill of these players who have kept the flame alive but if someone who had this passion is now not seeing any coverage of this in any facet is that not indicative of a weaker overall presence?
