This. I have over 500 hours on D2. Realized the devs only care about fomo players and their "live service" model. Game is objectively less deep than D1 and anyone who keeps playing this shitty game just have Stockholm Syndrome or something.

Plenty of 5+ year-old games still have their original content being played. The problem here is not that no one wants to play older content, it's that Destiny 2 has no content that's worth replaying no matter how new it is, which is precisely why they have to lock even the most basic content behind asinine grinds to get you to play it more than once.

This. I've got a bit more than 500 hours myself. No one I know who was playing it consistently ever had a positive thing to say about it. None of the streamers who play it have anything positive to say about it. All it is, is people constantly bitching about every change Bungie makes, every new scam they add, every broken experience they leave in the game, and the fact they almost never address anything because they literally can't without introducing - almost without fail - a problem equally as bad as the one they tried to fix.
It doesn't matter that the game continues to get better over time. It has progressed from a complete waste of money to a game that isn't worth playing more than once but that is designed for you to have to grind to do anything besides the most basic function. They say it's free to play, but lock the content behind what is effectively a monthly subscription in the format of seasons.

I dumped on this game, came back a year later, and cleared all the new content in two weeks before they locked it out about 3 times before I said, "Why the fuck do I keep doing this?" Then I realized that I was exactly the kind of person they designed this game for - someone who dumps on it, comes back, and bails again. That's why they've made it free to play. That's exactly why shit is so senselessly grindy. That's why they never bother to fix shit. They know the "core" audience is too Stockholm'd to ever leave, and everyone else won't stick long enough to notice that they never fix shit.
I finally decided I'm not doing it anymore and left completely.
